WILLIAMS HERBERT “BERT” V. On March 13, 2016, at age 93, with family at his side, in their home in Robinson Township. Survived by his son, Colin Williams and daughter-in-law, Elaine; and granddaughter, Tracey (Roger) Hyde. Survivors also include loving family still in England, son, John (Margaret) Williams; grandchildren, Gary Williams, Deborah (Darren) Fletcher (daughter of Colin), and Kelly (Richard) Martland; great- grandchildren, Liam, Chloe, Kirstie, Amy, Ryan, Leon and Bailey. Born in London, with seven brothers who preceded him in death, and his beloved wife, Margaret “Peggy”. He was a member of the Royal Air Force, and later worked for the government. After coming to America, his family grew to many, new "adopted" family. Grandad to so many, almost impossible to list. He was a vital but gentle man, who enriched lives, young and old. He loved young people especially, found them so much "fun". He was eternally youthful. A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at 4 p.m. with a dinner to follow. COVEY CHARLES W. A former resident of the South Hills area and publishing executive in Pittsburgh, died at Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury in Winchester, Virginia on March 6, 2016, at the age of 97. He is survived by his daughter, Catherine Covey Maffett and her husband, Wayne of Hedgesville, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren; and a brother, Gilbert. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ruth Covey; and by his son, Charles C. Covey. Mr. Covey was the first editor of the ISA Journal and publications manager of the Instrument Society of America in downtown Pittsburg, now in North Carolina. In 1962, he relocated to Washington, D.C. as co-founder of Compass Publications, publishers of Sea Technology magazine. He was with Compass for 37 years and retired after 11 years as a senior staff member at the National Ocean Survey of NOAA. He graduated from Lincoln Memorial University in 1940 with a degree in chemistry and physics and inducted into the University's Professional Hall of Fame in 1996. KELLY Dr. ROBERT W., Sr. Dr. Robert W. Kelly, Sr., Col., US Army, 69, of Buffalo Twp., passed away on March 11, 2016. Son of Charles W. and Ruth I. (Lord) Kelly, of Creighton. Dr. Kelly joined Allegheny General Hospital as a trauma surgeon and a burn surgeon at West Penn Hospital where he worked until he retired in August 2015. Served in Iraq and Afghanistan as a trauma surgeon. Survived by wife, Tina (Pavlik) Kelly; son, Robert W. Kelly, Jr. and fiancée, Kelly McCreary; daughter, Bethany (Mark) Glogowski; and grandchildren, Maxx Kelly and Tyler Henefeld and Gillian and Wyatt Glogowski; brother, Dr. Bruce (Dolly) Kelly. DUDRECK JOAN (DANIELS) “JOANIE” Age 83, passed away quietly on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, with many of her loving family around her. Born in Monongahela, PA, "Joanie" was the mother of Thomas Dudreck (Isabel), Cheri Gmiter (Kevin); grandmother to Matt Dudreck (Jamie) and Kristin Barber (Morris), Andrew Gmiter (Chrystal); great- grandmother to Hannah Dudreck (age three). She is survived by her husband, Albert Dudreck to whom she had been married for 62 years. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ted Daniels; and her father and mother, Howard and Edith Daniels. Her early work as a medical secretary prepared her well for her years as a homemaker. An accomplished bridge player, bowler and golfer at the Oakmont Country Club, Joan loved to travel and meet new people. She accompanied her husband on his many business trips around the world. For many years she worked countless hours as a volunteer in the gift shop in the Westmoreland Hospital. PATTERSON ROBERT MARK “MARKO” Of Braddock Hills, age 62, on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Marko was the beloved husband of Linda Jean (Dering) Patterson; loving brother of Gilbert Raymond Patterson, and the late Kenneth Dale Patterson, Jr.; cherished son of the late Kenneth Dale and Alyce Marie Ronco; and son-in-law of Isabel Peterson Dering; precious brother- in-law of Dave (Bonita) Dering, Diane Dering, and Joyce (Dave) Baney. Marko was the uncle of David (Kate) Dering, Kristen (Tim) Dering, Susan (Mike) Sparks, Elizabeth (Kavir) Naik, Paul Dering, Jr., and Bethany Baney; and many great-nieces and nephews. He was the loving father of his “fur kids”, Coco Maria, and Chazaam Maria. He was also the special friend of Benjamin Nicklow, and Amy Plaks. Marko worked as a truck driver for Talon Logistics in Gibsonia. Prior to working for Talon, he worked at AGX Air Ground Xpress in Clinton, PA for 12 years as an OTR, Over The Road Truck Driver, Dedicated, Chicago and New York. He is best noted for working for Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Marko also worked as a mechanic for Rock Motor & Machine, Vandergrift Harley Davidson, Counter Sales at South Coast Harley Davidson, R & J Cycle, and Heritage, McKeesport, Duquesne, and Columbia Harley Davidson as well. He was also a golf cart mechanic at Pittsburgh Harley Davidson on the North Shore, and was a counter salesman at Motorcycle Parts Warehouse in Lawrenceville. He was one of Lou's Boys. Marko will be remembered as a loyal and generous friend, who always looked out for others. Friends welcome on Sunday from 1-4 and 5-8 p.m. at PATRICK T.
