BRASSART MAURICE “MAURY/MO” Age 66, of Baldwin, had this quirky saying about life. "Ain't none of us gettin' out of here alive." True to his word, Maurice died peacefully on Monday, March 14, 2016, with his family by his side. Born on March 20, 1949, in Pittsburgh, he was the loving husband of nearly 45 years to Susan Doyle Brassart, high school sweethearts to lifelong companions. Maurice bravely served as a United States Marine in The Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart after sustaining permanent injuries. It was his unparalleled strength and tenacity that allowed him to live a full life that was not defined by any lasting impairments. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years, a career he chose for fresh air and freedom. Maurice was also a passionate pilot and flight instructor. He was a hardworking and faith-filled man who loved to get a laugh. Maurice is survived by his brothers, Patrick (Patricia) McDade, Jerrold (Claire) Brassart, and James (Loretta) Brassart. CROFFORD GLORIA On March 10, 2016. Born in Clarksburg, WV, September 13, 1943, she was the daughter of second generation Italian immigrants. She was raised on family values of faith, hard work, and selfless charity. Her love of academics earned her a full scholarship and the opportunity to be the first of her extended family to attend college. In married life, she resided in Pittsburgh, PA, dedicated to her loving husband, Robert Crofford, Jr. and children, Lori, Robert III and Matthew, who gave her eight wonderful grandchildren. Her professional career was focused on small business finance, ending as secretary of a family owned entity, LRM, Inc. In her final days, she enjoyed spending time with her family and loved being with her grandchildren. Gloria's small town charm was evident with a constant smile and positive outlook. A longtime battle with Parkinson's disease never slowed her down, thanks in part to being an early beneficiary of pioneering treatment. In return of the love, respect, and admiration she always had for others, her friends and family pray for Gloria in eternal peace with God.
