Born June 2, 1929, in Bloomfield, Pittsburgh, PA to the late Ralph M. and Ethyl Murray Lightell, formerly of Penn Hills, Pgh., PA. Preceded in death by her husband, Anthony S.; son, August Anthony; grandson, Norman "Butch" Hill III; sister of the late Virginia Guttendorf and Ralph E. Lightell. Former longtime member of Laketon Heights United Methodist Church where for 18 years many members enjoyed her homemade spaghetti dinner prepared annually alongside her husband, benefitting the church. Longtime former active member of Penn Hills Women's Club where she chaired a committee celebrating the bicentennial community events. Most important to Alice Mae was her loving family and her dedicated work of her family genealogy, often assisting many others with theirs. Beloved mother of Alice (Norman) Hill, Christine (John) Aughtman, Robert A. Estatico, Theresa Lasich; grandmother of Brian (Michele) Hill, Rachelle (David) Kendrick, Renae Raccasano, Barbara (Travis) Mann, Michelle (David) Jones, Stephanie Cook, Jennifer Wait, Heather Lasich; great- grandmother of nine. We will always cherish the footprints she left on our hearts and all those she touched through her life journey. She was born in Girard, PA on May 17, 1933, to the late Joseph C. and Meredith Mary (Murray) Heckman. Beloved wife for 58 years to John P. Boyle; loving mother of Patricia B. Shoff (Donald H.) of Reading, PA, Mary Kathleen Edwards (Douglas F.) of Montgomeryville, PA, Joseph P. Boyle of West Chester, PA, Peter J. Boyle (Pamela JLSMK) of Mililani, Hawaii and the late Karen (Boyle) Graves; proud grandmother of John Hekili Boyle, Christopher J. Shoff, Meghan M. Shoff, Daniel J. Graves, Tristan F. Edwards and Emily J. Edwards; sister of Carol Kelley (James) of Allentown, PA and the late Janet Murphy. Mary Joan was a medical technologist at Ohio Valley Hospital. She was an active member at St. Margaret Mary Church as an organist, choir member, prayer-line and 55+. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Moon Township Library. Her hobbies included knitting, traveling and exercising through yoga and Silver Sneakers. Betty was a former member of Compassionate Friends and the Three Rivers Indian Council, where she served as secretary. In the 1940s, she earned her pilots license and flew across the country. RATTAY MARGARITA QUINONES (WHEELER) Age 73, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2015, in the presence of family. Ms. Rattay was born in Rio Piedres, Puerto Rico, on August 16, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Antonio Quinones and Monica Bonilla. She is survived by her son, Keith Wheeler (Kathy), of North Strabane; two granddaughters, Emily and Ellyn Wheeler; an elder brother, Antonio Quinones; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ana Reyes and her brother, Samuel Quinones. Ms. Rattay moved to the United States in 1967 and lived most of her life in the Pittsburgh area. She was an active member of Berean Fellowship Church, in Scott Township. She enjoyed dancing, bird watching and going to local festivals, and she regularly attended her granddaughter's sporting events and activities. She will be dearly missed by many close friends. Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, April 26, 2015, from 2-6 p.m. at CREMATION & FUNERAL CARE, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546. MAURIDES KALIOPE GEORGE KILIVEROS On April 23, 2015, at age 86. Survived by daughter Patricia Maurides (Chris Siefert) and most precious granddaughter, Elizabeth Maurides Siefert of Pittsburgh; and son, Andrew Maurides, Jr. of Greenville, SC; also survived by sister-in-law, Litsa Maurides; nephew, Dr. Peter Maurides; niece, Patricia Skenteris, all of Greenville, SC; sister-in-law, Kaliope Kiliveros; and nephew, George Kiliveros, both of Merced, CA; and niece, Katina Gartelos of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Peter Maurides, a World War II veteran. Kaliope was born on April 21, 1929, the daughter of Katina Savvas Kiliveros and George Chris Kiliveros from the island of Skopelos, Greece. She received a BA in Education from Lenoir Rhyne University in 1951 and completed a MA in Special Education from Furman University in 1975. She was a dedicated teacher for forty years in South Carolina public schools and Shriner's Children's Hospital and was a fierce advocate for children and adults with special needs. She served as a dedicated volunteer for the Red Cross during the Vietnam War and was an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Greenville, SC. A gifted artist, cookbook critic and animal lover, she loved to travel. He was born in Pittsburgh on May 20, 1939, to the late Martin M. and Catherine (Gaffney) Kokel. Beloved husband for 39 years to Patricia (Winn) Kokel; loving father of Martin P. Kokel (Debbie) of McDonald and the late Tina Kokel; cherished grandfather of Rachael and Emily; brother of Kitty Hogan (Tim) of Greene County. Marty was Vice President Manager for Customer Outreach for 37 years with PNC Bank. Marty was a very active member of St. Joseph Church where he and his wife helped with the annual fish fry, festival, garden crew and decorating committee. Marty's passion was the Tina Kokel Memorial Golf Outing. Marty will be remembered for his smile and his wonderful sense of humor.
