MARELEN MARTHA HINES Marelen Martha Hines, 80, entered into rest peacefully on September 1, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Wilbert and Clara Brown and wife to the late Louis Hines, Marelen was born September 12, 1939, in Pittsburgh, PA, where she grew up in the Hill District and attended Fifth Avenue High School. Marelen was employed for over 20 years at the Shadyside Manor Nursing Home in Pittsburgh as a CNA and advanced to a shift supervisor. She had special talent when it came to caring and respecting people from all backgrounds. Her ability to take care and serve family and friends was definitely her calling and a talent that her four children embraced in their careers. Marelen spent her last 10 years of retirement in Fairburn, Georgia with her family and friends. Marelen was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Andre Hines; three brothers: Tabby, Arnold, and Leonard, and three sisters, Evelyn, Greela, and Clara. She leaves to cherish her precious memory two brothers, Harold Brown and Norman Brown, and one sister, Harriet Casey all of Pittsburgh, PA; three children, Anthony (Jeanette) Hines of Pike Road, AL, Schelene (Larry) Hutchins of Fairburn, GA, Arnel (Kimberly) Hines of Bloomfield, CT; one daughter-in-law, Thelma Hines of Hartford, CT; one stepson, Curtis Hines of Pittsburgh, PA; a very special niece, Carmen Tyler of Pittsburgh, PA; eight grandchildren, Alexis Hines, Alyssa Hines, Jeanette Hines, Jocelyn Hines, Andrea Hines, Caleb Hutchins, Cherie Hines, Javon Hines; four great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Byron, Aniko, and Dante; one goddaughter Debby McCombs, a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends, who will all miss her dearly.
