PATRICIA (KING) BARKER Age 88, on August 11, 2020, at home, surrounded by her loving family. “Patsy,” as she was affectionately called by her family was the “queen,” and everyone she met knew about her big family. She worked for Bell Telephone for 42 years as a Directory Assistance Operator. She was Past President of the GFWC Women's Club of Duquesne, Girl Scout leader and Democratic Committee member. She was an avid shopper, QVC and HSN knew her by name. She loved to travel with her husband and family, and especially her trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Ireland, and numerous cruises to the Virgin Islands. Patsy loved eating out at fancy restaurants, a good superburger at Eat ‘n Park, and being pampered at the spa. But most of all, she loved spending time with family and celebrating holidays with the people who she loved. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Punch” Barker; son, William G. Barker; parents, Bart and Ethel King; siblings, William, James, and Richard King, Elizabeth Kincaid and Janet Pavlot; in-laws, Albert and Janet Barker; brothers-in-law, Albert, Bob, Ted, Jim, and Dewayne (Pete); and sister-in-law, Velma “Toots” Whitney. LYDIA EMMALINE HEIDEKAT Age 39, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Export, died on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born on August 2, 1981 in Pittsburgh, to John Heidekat and Jane (Ceol) Heidekat. Lydia was a graduate of Franklin Regional High School, where she was consistently in the National Honor Society. She was also involved in the chorus and silks. While studying business and marketing at the University of Pittsburgh, Lydia was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society, Golden Key International Honour Society, National Association of Women MBAs, Kappa Delta sorority. She graduated Summa Cum Laude. Lydia was an avid international traveler who had visited far, distant lands with her brother, Oliver, and enjoyed everything Disney. Lydia enjoyed the arts, especially musical theater and opera, and was affiliated with the Pittsburgh Arts Council for several years. Professionally, Lydia was an award-winning, exceptionally strong performer in her career. With Neilsen, she managed multi-million dollar accounts and built wonderful rapport with her clients. She was a truly beautiful person, inside and out, whose love for her friends and family was equal to her love for her kitties, Vladimir and Pumpkin. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Oliver Heidekat; niece, Grace Ryan Heidekat; sister-in-law, Ashley Miller Stoffelmayr and her husband, Kaspar; her special aunt, Elaine; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Quentin Heidekat in 2013. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday, August 14 at LINDSAY-JOBE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721. JAMES D. WELSH Age 90, of East McKeesport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. He was born June 26, 1930, in East McKeesport, a son of the late B.F. “Hank” and Nell (Mackey) Welsh. He was a member of Linway United Presbyterian Church, North Versailles where he served as a Deacon and an Elder, also working many years with the Meals on Wheels program. Jim was an Army veteran that served during the Korean War, stationed in Manilla, Philippines, a retired machinist for U.S. Steel Research Center, Monroeville, a member of Hilltopers VFW Post 8430, and the American Legion, East McKeesport. He was an avid sports fan that loved the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. Jim loved to golf and bowl and once bowled a perfect 300 game in the U.S. Steel Bowling League. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his his former wife, Mary (Heffernan) Welsh; a daughter, Kathy Jean Welsh; and his siblings, Bill Welsh, Betty Burnworth, Ruth Rothrauff, Frank Welsh, and Bob Welsh. He is survived by his children, Jim (LuAnne) Welsh of Oakmont, and Kim Tyler of Oregon, grandchildren, Zach (Nikki) Welsh and Corey (Holly) Perry; great-grandchildren, Ethan Welsh and Madelyn Perry; also nieces and nephews. BARBARA B. (BONAY) HUMENIUK Of Forest Hills, age 72, died on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Beloved wife of Ted Humeniuk for 25 years; loving stepmother of Jennifer Buss; dear grandmother of Henry, William, Maddie and Clare Buss; sister of John (Jackie) Bonay of Harrison City, Larry (Dorian) Bonay of Wilkes-Barre, the late Thomas (surviving spouse, Marsha) Bonay of WA, late Mary Lou Bonay and late Debbie Bonay Ashbaugh (surviving spouse, Tom). Even though visually impaired, no longer able to drive her car, and riding the bus to and from work, Barbara took evening classes at Point Park University while employed with the Commonwealth of PA. in the Blindness and Visual Agency. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Point Park in 1990. With the agency, Barbara was first hired as a secretary, became the supervisor of secretaries, and ended her career as a Case Worker. Her favorite pastime was knitting lap blankets and donated several hundred blankets to various hospices in Pittsburgh. Barbara and Ted traveled extensively even though they both were visually impaired. They ventured from Nova Scotia to Alaska and Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Salsibury, MD. Their most frequent place to visit was the Shenandoah National Park. Friends are welcome from 2-3 p.m. on Friday at PATRICK T. WILLA (BATCH) PINNIX Willa (Batch) Pinnix was born on February 22, 1927, in Elizabeth, PA to the late William and Hazel Brinegar-Batch. Willa departed this life on August 9, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Pinnix and sisters, Olive Marie Micheaux, Charlotte Ella Nelson, and Lorene Elizabeth McCrae. After graduating from Elizabeth High School. Willa fell in love and married William B. Pinnix and moved to Pittsburgh to raise their family. She enjoyed raising her three children and looked forward to spending family time with her grandchildren. She retired from Presbyterian University Hospital, Central Laboratory Information Center and was a devoted member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church (Homewood) where she served on the Usher Board. Willa is survived by her children, Hazel Lee Smith of Turtle Creek, Mark W. (Sherese) Pinnix of Verona, Michael B. (Crystal) Pinnix of Monmouth Junction, NJ; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Mae Bell of Pittsburgh; PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. CHARLES D. PIZZUTO Age 76, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020, after a very long battle with Dementia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Irene Pizzuto, and his sister, Dolores Lantzy. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly (Litzinger) Pizzuto; daughters, Melanie McClain (Eric Hoffner) and Becky (Tim) O'Neill; granddaughters, Brianna McClain and Amanda O'Neill; his brother, Dan “Sonny” Pizzuto; sisters, Louise (Ron) Treser, Mary Alice (Bob) Adams, also many nieces and nephews. Chuck joined the Navy at the young age of 17. This gave him an opportunity to go to many places he would never have seen. Chuck drove a truck for Letty Lane Candy Co., then Schwebel's Bread until he retired. He loved country music, his favorite sport was auto racing, he loved to shoot pool, and go to car cruises. Chuck will be missed by his little dog, Cassie, but his beloved dog, Laci, is already in heaven waiting for him on the Rainbow Bridge. (Frances) Travis and Alma (Dr. Philip) Gallagher. Grandmother of Christy (Shawn) Leister, Wayne R. (Tiffany) Travis, Philip M. Gallagher, Peter Gallagher, and Claire (Arjun) Saxena. Great-Grandmother of Emilee, Dakota, and Brian Leister; Kayleigh and Steele Travis; Nakul and Naveen Saxena. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne J. Travis and her parents, Joseph and Jennie Udivich. She was a great cook and housekeeper, played cards, and was almost a professional bingo player for many years. ROBERT C. BURKE Age 77 passed away on July 30, 2020, after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons during the last few years of his life. Following graduation from Duquesne University in 1964, he entered the Peace Corps.
