PHILIP "PHIL" MEYERS LANDAU Dr. Philip Phil Meyers Landau, 69 years old, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with advanced heart failure. Surrounded by a family that adored him, he lived a life of unconditional love and kindness and will be forever missed by his devoted wife of almost 44 years, Myra; his three daughters, Lauren (David) Goldberg, Meredith (Rishi) Maheshwary, and Erica (Brian) Kelly; his grandchildren, Paige, Liza, Will, Emily, Jacob, and Brooke. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ruth and Herbert Landau. Born on November 21, 1950, Phil grew up in Squirrel Hill and graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School. He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Board certified in Internal Medicine, with a Geriatrics focus, Phil's medical career spanned 37 years. He was a devoted physician who practiced at St. Margaret's Hospital, HealthSouth Harmarville Rehabilitation Center, and Allegheny Health Network. He served as Medical Director at Longwood at Oakmont from 2003-2017. During the course of his career, Phil's knowledge, professionalism, compassion, and dedication was always apparent in the level of love, attention, and care he gave to his cherished patients. At the heart of Phil's life was his family, who will forever call him their best friend and hero. The embodiment of love, devotion, selflessness and integrity, Phil was the ultimate husband, father, father-in-law, and Pop-Pop whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. As his family grieves this loss, they hold close Phil's legacy of genuine and unparalleled kindness. Phil Landau made the world brighter. An avid musician, kite maker, bread baker, and tinkerer, Ted passed away Tuesday from complications of cancer. A native of New York City, he relocated to Pittsburgh for most of the last 35 years. He is survived by his daughter, Anna, his son, Ben (Jackie); and grandchildren, Matilda, Caleb, and Toby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Solomon Greenstone. He will be remembered for his puns and his hugs, but mostly his songs. He honorably served his country in the US Army. The son of Felix Biedrzycki and Agnes Metz, Eugene grew up in their family-owned butcher shop on Polish Hill with his brother, John and sister, Loretta. After serving in the US Air Force during WWII, he met his wife of 72 years, Florence Kaminski of Lawrenceville. He was a hard worker who loved to make jokes and was always ready to throw a party. He enjoyed playing pinochle and working on friends' and family's automobiles in his garage. He loved to pester and pamper his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, sister and grandson, Daniel Zinz. Jennifer was born December 21, 1973, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her beloved Husband Tom and her children Jacob, Benjamin, and Lauren; her Parents Roderick and Judith Williams of Pittsburgh, PA; her Brother Nathan Williams of Columbus, OH; and her Sister Rebekah Robare of Slippery Rock, PA; as well as a Great-Aunt; Aunts; Uncles; Cousins; Nieces; Nephews; Sisters-in-Law; Brothers-in-Law; and so many loving friends. Jennifer graduated from Peters Township High School in 1992. She went on to Bethany College in Bethany, WV where she earned a degree in Social Work and met the love of her life Tom Pechous. She was a proud member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. Jen worked in the mental health field after college, primarily with Foster and Adoptive Children. Jen was a life long fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penquins. Most importantly, her life revolved around her precious children-her kids were her everything and they made her so happy and so proud. GLENNA (ZINN) PRATT Glenna Zinn Pratt went to meet her Savior and sing in the great heavenly choir on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at age 91. Glenna was born in Morgantown, WV in 1928. She was the daughter of C. Glenn and Marjorie W. Zinn. Glenna graduated from Morgantown High School, and West Virginia University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Glenna married Robert F. Pratt in March 1948 in Morgantown. They were married for more than 50 years prior to Bob's death in 1999. As a young married couple they moved to Washington, PA in 1949. Glenna was a long-time member of the Church of the Covenant in Washington where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and member of the Covenant Choir and regular Mezza Soprano soloist. She was the past president of the Daughters of the Current Events Club, past president of the Monday Music Club and past president of Family Services Board. Glenna served as a member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA and the Salvation Army. She was the former Chairman of the Neighborhood House Auxiliary. Glenna is survived by her brother, David W. Zinn of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas E. Zinn of Morgantown, WV. Glenna is survived by her children, Robert F. Pratt, Jr. (Karen) of Louisville KY, Janice P. Busch (Jim) of Mentor OH, and Thomas D. Pratt (Marcia) of Mt. Lebanon. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren: Stephen, Shawn (Amanda) and Jonathan (Caroline) Pratt, Michael, David (Crystal) and Andrew (Amanda) Busch, and Grace (Miles) Crawley, Maggie, Caroline, Bella and Kate Pratt, and by her six great-grandchildren: Makenna Pratt, Zoey, Zaylee and Zyla Busch, Emma Busch, and Jaxon Crawley. Glenna had a heart for mission and children. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and was blessed by visits with her great grandchildren. Glenna was an avid sports fan, particularly the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The family is thankful for the visits and prayer support from Glenna's church family at the Church of the Covenant, as well as the care she received from the staff at Presbyterian SeniorCare and Family Hospice. DAVID FRANCIS KLEIN, JR. 1954-2020 David Klein passed away on February 6, 2020 following a courageous battle with cancer. David passed in the arms of his loving wife in his beloved home in Greeneville, TN. David is preceded in death by his father, David Francis Klein, Sr, and mother, Shirley Jean Egbert Klein. David leaves behind his soulmate and wife, Paula Fay Sanders Klein; sisters, Mary Susan Klein Fuller and Kathleen Ida Klein Carr; four nieces and a nephew, Meredith Carr, Kristel Gibbons, Aran Morris and David Fuller; and three grandnieces, Ivy Elling, Olivia and Aurora Gibbons. David was born December 4, 1954. He was raised in Rennerdale, PA outside of Pittsburgh. He moved to Greeneville TN, attending Greeneville Middle School and one year at the high school. His family moved to Muncie, IN 1971. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 1973 and Indiana University with a BA in business in 1977. For most of his life he worked for Muncie Power Products and moved around the country from Muncie IN to Dallas TX, to Seattle WA, Tulsa OK, and then for FleetPride in Sacramento CA before retiring to Greene County. He made many friends along the way. Later in life, David, learned to play the guitar and mandolin. He loved to listen to and play blue-grass music. Going to blue-grass festivals; taking music lessons and playing with the informal groups after the concerts, were some of his favorite things to do. Along with his musical talents, David had a love for carpentry and crafts. His attention to detail served him well when crafting his stained glasses windows/artwork. David never met a stranger. He loved meeting people and would stop out in the county to talk with a person walking or sitting in their yard. He loved nature, traveling, camping, hiking, and fishing in the National Parks and especially the Sierra Nevada Mountains outside of Sacramento. He cherished his land at the foot of the Cherokee National Forest and enjoyed walking the fields, woods, and driving through the mountains in TN. He will be sorely missed! May was a a loving wife, mother and friend to all. She enjoyed a full life with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
