CHARLES J. "CHUCK" RITTMEYER, JR. Age 74, of Pittsburgh, PA, long-term resident of Beaver County, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 in St. Clair Hospital. Born March 18, 1945 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Charles, Sr. and Anne (Ohleger) Rittmeyer. Chuck was a proud and loyal friend of Bill W. for over 34 years where he was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous leading local meetings, volunteering, and sponsoring. In 1995 at the age of 50, he graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Foster) Rittmeyer. He is survived by two sons, Charles J. Rittmeyer, III and Brian C. Rittmeyer; a granddaughter, Makayla N. Rittmeyer; a brother, Robert W. (Mary Ann) Rittmeyer; two sisters, Judy (Dennis) Branagan and Joanne Magee (William Gibbs); and a niece and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services at noon in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME, 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Twp. PAUL J. MAURO Age 81, of Level Green, passed away on February 11, 2020. Beloved husband of Norma (Tartaglione) Mauro, who were high school sweethearts and have been together for 65 years. Dear father of James (Valerie) Mauro and Shari (Paul) Mauro. Also survived by his brother, Joseph Mauro; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful pets, Elsa, Frankie, and Katty Purry. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary (Scalise) Mauro. Paul honorably served in the Army Reserves. Following his military service, he went on to work as an insurance agent for John Hancock. He retired as sales manager after more than 30 years of service, and won many sales, management, and achievement awards while with John Hancock. Paul was a former lector at St. Regis Church, and most recently attended St. Bernadette Church. He always looked forward to family vacations to Myrtle Beach and also loved going on long car rides with his wife. In his free time he enjoyed going to concerts, movies, dancing, and a good game of cards. Private burial will be held at Restland Memorial Cemetery. KATHLEEN "TING" ENGLISH A hundred and a half years "young" passed peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2020. She was a native of Pachuta, Mississippi, a true Southern lady possessing charm, grit, hospitality and elegance. She was married for 61 years to her highschool sweetheart, Thomas L. English. Ting was an accomplished artist, an avid reader, a wonderful conversationalist. She considered her greatest achievement in life her children, Kathy and Tom. Her true joy was in spending time with her family of six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Wetzel (Barry) of Allison Park, PA; son, Tom English (Donna) of Auburn, AL; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Born on March 20, 1958 in Duncansville, PA, one of three to the late James and Barbara (Trostle) Haines. Beloved wife for 30 years to Stephen R. Dietrich; loving mother of Joseph and Mark Dietrich; cherished sister of Constance Feltenberger (Barry) and James Haines; adored aunt of Elizabeth, Tracey and Matthew; also well-loved by Stephen's family and many dear friends. Jackie and her husband made their home in Coraopolis in 1989 and joined St. Joseph Church. Jackie worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Mike Hanna in Robinson and 15 years in the cafeteria of Cornell Schools. Jackie was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. Lately, she had developed gourmet culinary skills and spoiled her family. She was a great mom and a cherished wife. Taken too soon, she will be greatly missed. EDWARD J. KRESS Age 92, of Shaler Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2020. He was born December 30, 1927, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Edward and Anna (Linz) Kress. Beloved husband of the late Jean (Polichio) Kress for 47 years; loving father of Edward Kress and Lynn (Eric) Hutchison; grandfather of Nolan and Caleb; brother of the late Claire Dorsch Muenz; brother-in-law of Connie Polichio, Jane (Casimir) Pellegrini, Esther (Robert) Dick and the late Rose (Lou) Ferraro, Germaine (Joseph) Bellissimo, Frances (Evan) Kisick and Dante Polichio. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews. Growing up on the North Side during the Great Depression, he worked at St. Boniface Church bingos at an early age and joined the U.S. Postal Service at age 16 to assist his family financially. He was an Army Veteran drafted November 8, 1950, serving in Alaska during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he became a second father to his sister's six children, moving in with the family, while her husband Joe suffered and eventually succumbed to cancer. He was a graduate of North Catholic High School Class of 1946 and Duquesne University where he obtained a B.A. and a Master of Education. He became a teacher with the Pittsburgh Public Schools, where he taught at Cowley and Baxter Elementary Schools. He later became a principal at McCleary and Dilworth Traditional Academies. He lovingly cared for his wife during the 16 years she suffered from Alzheimer's Disease. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, where he faithfully attended mass every Sunday and a member of the Millvale VFW/American Legion Post 118. He enjoyed hunting with his cousins, fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He will always be remembered for his selfless nature and kindness to all. He will be deeply missed. Friends will be received at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1500 Mt. ELIZABETH LOUISE (MARNER) MASSELL "BETTY LOU" After a brief illness, Elizabeth Louise (Marner) Massell, “Betty Lou,” died at age 92, on January 12, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 23, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA to James Michael and Mary Florence Slater Marner. Betty Lou attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and was a 1945 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. After working for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Pittsburgh, Betty Lou decided to transfer to the CDC in Atlanta, GA in 1953. She met and subsequently married her husband, Lee Irvin Massell, a civil and structural engineer on February 11, 1954. The young couple designed and built a beautiful home in Chastain Park, where they lived until 1999. Betty Lou loved her years living in Atlanta. For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Joe May Valet, volunteered in the Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital Emergency Room, and was a dedicated parishioner at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. As a huge fan of Julia Child, Betty Lou devoted her time to become a fabulous self-taught cook, wowing friends and family with her culinary talents. Utilizing these skills, the couple's many friends were treated to numerous dinner parties and the ladies were hosted for luncheons and canasta gatherings, which Betty Lou loved. Desiring to live closer to family, Betty Lou and Lee moved first to Northern Virginia and then, in 2001, to St Barnabas in Gibsonia, where they made many new friends. Betty Lou and Lee enjoyed 54 years of marriage before his passing on October 28, 2008. Besides her husband, Betty Lou was predeceased by her parents, a brother, James E. Marner and his wife, Agnes, a sister, Patricia Marner Eyman and her husband, Charles, brother-in-law, Lee Donaldson and nephews, James Eyman and John Eyman. She leaves behind a sister, Katherine Marner Donaldson of Allison Park, and her loving nieces and nephews: Roger Massell (Andrea), Douglas Massell, Diane Massell (Scott Campbell), Kim Dingess (John), Lee Donaldson (Cheri), Stuart Donaldson (Karen), Kati Hattwick (Gary), Karen Marner, Betty Lou Marner, Theresa Little (Robert), Jamie Marner, Trisha Murphy (Michael) along with several great and great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as her special friend, Most Reverend David A. Zubik. Betty Lou was renowned for spreading love wherever she went and will be missed by a legion of friends. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Bishop David A. Zubik on Monday, February 17 2020, at 12 noon, at St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, immediately followed by burial at Holy Savior Cemetery, 4629 Bakerstown Road, Gibsonia. GEORGIA (SLAYDON) CLEAR Age 87, of Neville Island, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at West Hills Health and Rehab. She was born in Martinsville, VA on May 8, 1932 to the late Joseph Herman and Irene Fair (Grogan) Slaydon. On June 5, 2012, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years and a true gentleman, Donald A. Clear. Loving mother of David (Toni) Clear and John (Gayle) Clear; cherished grandmother of Abigayle Grace Clear and Jessica (David) Lynn Jones; great-grandmother of Tyler, Emily and Logan; sister of Josephine (the late Kennon C.) Slaydon Barnes and Norma (the late Jerry N. ) Jean Carter. Georgia was a kind, sweet and gentle soul. She devoted her life to raising her children and to her church. She was a member of the Church of Christ where she had taught Sunday School for 18 years. M. JEANNE DIX Age 90, of McKeesport, PA, departed this life peacefully Saturday, February 8, 2020, at UPMC East, Monroeville, PA. She was born July 8, 1929, daughter of the late William and Katherine Hemmons Dix, and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Carrie Ann Dix James and Patricia Vincenty; brother, William Dix and beloved nephew, Billy Chris James. Jeanne was a McKeesport High School graduate. She obtained her bachelor's degree at Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, OH. While there, she joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in 1953. She received her master's in Counselor Education from University of Pittsburgh in 1969. Served as a counselor at Fifth Avenue, Brashear and Carrick High Schools, retiring after 40 years of service. She served on the boards of YWCA, LaRosa Boys and Girls Club, the McKeesport Symphony Orchestra, and the Mon Yough Riverfront Entertainment and Cultural Council. She was inducted into the Pennsylvania State Federation of Negro Women's Clubs Hall of Fame, honored by the Hand-In-Hand scholarship organization, and was a 1999 inductee into the McKeesport High School Alumni and Friends Association Hall of Fame. Jeanne accepted Christ at an early age. She remained a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for over 84 years. Jeanne served in several capacities, she was a member of the Missionary Union, former Sunday School Superintendent, church pianist, and served on the Noah's Ark Community Center Board. Jeanne is survived by her nephew, Steve Vincenty of San Diego, CA; grandniece and nephew, Patricia and Christopher Vincenty of RI; godson, Robert A. (Robin) Waters of Forward Township; goddaughter, Alicia Jeanne Waters of Baltimore, MD; longtime mentee, Anica (Bobby) Jones of McKeesport, PA, and a hosts of cousins and friends who will miss her dearly. WAYNE MORGAN CAMPBELL Wayne Morgan Campbell, 82, of Leesburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Goshen Hospital. He was born on July 8, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA. Wayne graduated from Bethany College in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He started his professional path as a box salesman for Georgia Pacific, and forged a successful sales career that brought him to Leesburg, Indiana in 1977. In 1979, Wayne became the CEO and owner of Tekonsha Corp, an aero and auto surface care manufacturer located in Syracuse, Indiana. Wayne had a passion for Loveway, a non-profit organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding for the disabled. During his tenure as President of the Loveway Board of Directors, he was proud to oversee the construction of a new riding arena. He was proceeded in death by his parents Byron Stanley Campbell and Margaret Morgan Campbell, and his step mother, Mary Ellen Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Campbell; his daughters, Karen Margaret Campbell and Kathryn Denise Elfstrom; and his stepchildren, Kevin Tracey, Lara Eckrich and Patrick Tracey. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two brothers; a sister; and a stepsister. RONALD PATRICK LIGUORI Age 60, of Stowe Twp., passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. Born June 22, 1959 in McKees Rocks, he was the son of Pat Liguori and the late Mercedes Liguori (Ford). Ron was one of the most loving people you could meet. He cared for everyone he met and had a way of touching the lives of his family, friends, and neighbors as much as they touched his life, if not more. In addition to spending time with friends and family, Ron enjoyed listening to music, singing, playing the guitar and keyboard, and watching his favorite television shows. He was a big country music and wrestling fan and enjoyed talking about the latest entertainment news. Ron was active in the church as an usher at St. Cyril's and then Saint John of God Church. We believe he is now joining his beloved mother in Heaven and watching over his family and friends. He is survived by his father, Pat; brother, Rich Liguori and wife, Elaine; niece, Amy Beeler (John); nephew, Shawn Liguori; great-niece, Alaina Beeler. Ron also cared very much for his extended family including all his many aunts, uncles, and cousins that were an important part of his life and his happiness.
