DECLAN "DECKY" ROBERTS WALTERS Age four, of Beechview, on Friday, September 27, 2019, after a short courageous battle with a brain tumor. He is the beloved son of Josh and Kelly (Nelson) Walters; loving brother of Haylie and Luna; dear grandson of Edna Nelson and Bob (Eleanor) Walters; nephew of Lindsay (Rob) Gray, Kim (Shane) Fuga, Tara (Ben Bjerke) Walters, Landon and Kenzi Rankin; and numerous cousins. Declan was a loving, intelligent, free spirited, and lively little four years old boy. He loved playing with his sisters, cousins, and aunts and uncles. He also loved being silly and making people laugh. Paw Patrol, PJ masks, toy cars and superheroes were just a few of his favorite things. He was the mightiest superhero of all! Decky brought joy to everyone he met, and he will be incredibly missed and loved everyday until we meet again. RAYMOND A. KUNZ Age 84, of Springdale, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019. He was born in Etna on February 15, 1935 to his late parents, George and Margaret Mihm Kunz and has been a lifelong resident of our community. Mr. Kunz Served in The U.S. Army as well as The Army Reserves in New Kensington where he was employed as a civilian mechanic for 30 years where he eventually retired. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale and was on the board of directors for The Allegheny-Kiski Federal Credit Union for 15 years. Raymond enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing cards, taking trips to the casino and especially spending time with his family. He was the son of a carpenter and was an avid woodworker. Mr. Kunz also volunteered at the front desk of St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in Aspinwall for many years where he met many great friends. He will be sadly missed by all. Surviving him are loving wife of 61 years, Gloria Kochanowicz Kunz; sons, Russell Kunz of Harrisburg, Christopher Kunz of Saxonburg, Michael (Lauree) Kunz of Maryland; sister, Anita (Robert) Blythe of Shaler; brother Kenneth (Kathy) Kunz of Florida; grandchildren, Bradley, Nicole, Corey, Eric and Amy; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, George and Richard; and two sisters, Collette Brucker and Mary Margaret Sundo. The Kunz family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 801 Pgh. RITA S. ALLAN Rita S. Allan, 89, of Fox Chapel passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019. She was born to the late Virginia G. and John T. Stabile of Mount Lebanon, PA; and was predeceased by her husband, James S. Allan, and her sister, Carol J. Moore. She is survived by her son, Dr. James S. Allan, and daughter-in-law, Dr. Susan E. Sunbury. She is also survived by her brother John T. Stabile, Jr., grandchildren Sara and James Allan, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of the University of Miami, a member of the Junior League of Pittsburgh, and served on the Social Service Board of Shadyside Hospital for many years. Loving father of Jeffrey Wayne Shiring (Miyuki) and Brandy Akers (David); grandfather of Catherine Elizabeth and Emily Paige Akers. Brother of William (Jean Anne), Clyde and the late Fred and Gary Shiring. Son of the late Clyde and Erma Sullivan Shiring formerly of Shaler St., Mt. Washington. DONNA (EICHLER) KRASON Donna (Eichler) Krason, age 64, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019, at North Mississippi Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on January 5, 1955, to Alfred Eichler, Sr., and Lucille Eichler. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Jefferson Borough, Pennsylvania, and went on to earn an associates degree from Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh. Donna met her husband, Ken, while they were both students at Robert Morris. They moved to Tupelo, MS in 1982 and have been an active part of the community since then. They have two adult children, Tim and Liz, and are longtime members of Calvary Baptist Church in Tupelo. Donna has worked various jobs during her life, including many years as an accounts receivable clerk at Day-Brite Manufacturing. She loved watching classic movies, a trait that made her an invaluable team member during trivia nights. She displayed generosity, notably by buying fine chocolates and sharing them with loved ones. And, up until her illness rendered her unable to do so, she showed up consistently to sing in the church choir on Sunday mornings, a proud member of the alto section. Her friends and family will miss her direct and honest opinions as well as her consistent service to others. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the GRIFFITH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5636 Brownsville Road, (at 6th St.) South Park Twp. ELAINE A. (TARABEK) SILINSKI "GRAMMY" Age 84, of Baldwin, passed away at home with her family by her side on Monday, September 30, 2019. Loving wife of 51 years to the late Robert Silinski; beloved mother of Rob (Karen), Russ and Diane (Greg) Meszaros; proud Grammy of Rebecca, Kaitlyn, Mikayla Silinski and Zach Meszaros; sister of Mary Jane (the late Richard) Davies and the late Eugene (Flo) Tarabek, Louise (Charlie) Lippai and Rudolph Jr. (survived by Jean) Tarabek. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Elaine was a dedicated employee of the Allegheny Intermediate Unit for 22 years. During this time, she touched the lives of many while serving as a teacher's aide for special-needs students. Known by most as Grammy, Elaine was at her happiest spending time with her children, grandchildren and grand-dogs. Grammy loved traveling, playing cards and Scrabble, baking and cooking and was a familiar face at her grandkids' sporting events and extra-curricular activities. Marty was a graduate of Tarentum High School. He is preceded in death by his wife, Constance (Myslenski) Skuta; and a daughter, Mary Jo Teske. MAX ANTHONY WYMARD On Saturday, September 28, 2019, Max Anthony Wymard, at age 39, lost his battle with addiction. He is the beloved son of James Anthony Wymard and Sara Cromley Wymard. Max graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of 1999, where he lettered in soccer. Growing up, Max was an avid baseball player, starting with Squirrel Hill Little League through American Legion baseball. Along with soccer and baseball, Max was a good golfer and a great mogul skier. While he enjoyed many sports as a young man, golf was his favorite. He attended Duquesne University. Max was a compassionate, likable and gregarious young man. His intuition and insights were such that he often successfully assisted his father with jury selection. He was a talented chef and prolific writer. In addition to his parents, he will be missed by his beloved sister and brother in law, Anne Wymard Starz and R. Hagen Starz, and his most favorite person of all his niece, Rian Starz; his uncle and aunt, Joseph and Eleanor Wymard; and a host of many cousins, especially those closest in age, including Josh Wymard, Peter Wymard (Bonnie Barrett Wymard), Francis Wymard (Katie Weeks Wymard) and Katherine Wymard. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Marie Wymard; and James and Irene Cromley; and uncles Bill, Jack, and his very close uncle Fran Wymard, and Richard Cromley. Max believed strongly in his Catholic faith and relished his years at Central Catholic High School. He found great joy in the friendships he made there with his fellow students, Brothers and Priests. Central Catholic gave him a strong sense of belonging and self-worth. MATTHEW J. CLARK A resident of Denver, CO., formerly of Forest Hills, age 26, was taken too young after a tragic hiking accident, on September 28, 2019, in the Rocky Mountains. Cherished son of Michael J. and Terri (Truglio) Clark of Forest Hills. Beloved brother of Michael, Danielle, and Anthony. Grandson of Michael (Marie) Truglio and Francine Truglio; Margaret Clark and the late Thomas Clark. Great-nephew of Glenn and Kathy Truglio with whom Matthew resided in CO and formed a special bond with their son, Neil (Chantelle) Truglio. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Matthew attended St. Maurice Grade School in Forest Hills from K-8 and was a 2012 graduate of Central Catholic. He then attended Ohio State University and developed into an ardent Buckeye fan. He settled in Colorado to pursue his passion for adventure and the outdoors. Matthew's caring heart was rivaled only by his kind soul. He possessed an intelligent mind and deep compassion toward those who were less fortunate. Matthew will be sorely missed by his treasured family and his many friends and is now an angel in heaven, watching over us all. RAYMOND ALBERT SCHLAEGLE Age 91, of Robinson Township and West Park, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was born August 28, 1928 to the late Ferdinand and Mathilda Schlaegle; beloved husband of 71 years to Irene "Duddie" Schlaegle (Baker); wonderful and loving father of the late Rae Lynn Kosarik (Joe), Judy Mills (Dennis), Heidi Raeder (Steve), and Russ Schlaegle (Karen). Ray was devoted to his 14 grandchildren, Bonnie (Bittner) Lepro (Jim), Robert Bittner (Michelle), JR Bittner (Eileen), Heather (Bittner) Fagan (Matt), Rae Lynn (Kosarik) Floss (David), Jeanette (Pash) Dunhem (Stefan), Dianna (Pash) Helt (Josh), Stephanie (Raeder) Thompson (Matt), Doug Raeder (Carrie), Scott Raeder (Rachel), Natalie (Raeder) Prioletti (TJ), Ryan Schlaegle (Kim), Casey Schlaegle (Ali), and Ashley Schlaegle, and 27 great-grandchildren. Ray worked for Prudential Insurance for many years and was co-owner of Rae Lynn's Restaurant in Burgettstown. Ray was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan; he loved music and to sing his favorite songs with Irene. Ray enjoyed being with his family, playing card games, and teasing the great-grandkids. JAMES IRVIN MILLER "CHEEKS" James Irvin Miller, “Cheeks”, 72, of Upper St. Clair, peacefully passed away on September 29, 2019. He was the loving husband to Kathleen Miller for over 46 years. James was a graduate of South Hills Catholic High School class of 1965, member of the IBEW Local #5 for 45 years and the Pleasant Hills-Guthrie Lodge #509. He was a beloved husband and father.
