ROBERT MAHLON KEIM Robert Bob Mahlon Keim, 82, of Ross Twp, PA, died September 30, 2019. Bob, son of Walter and Thelma Keim and loving husband of Suzanne Carlson Keim (58 years), passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Sue; his children, Robert Keim (Jeff), Jennifer Schilpp (Lisa), David Keim (Kristine); and his brother, William Keim (Barbara). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Katie (Chase), David, Sarah, Andrew, Zach; and one great-grandson, Carter. Bob loved The Lord and people. He was a faithful active long time member of Hiland Presbyterian Church. He grew up in Washington DC and was an alumni of Duke and American Universities. He was a CPA and worked as controller for St Francis General Hospital until his retirement in 2002. Bob also proudly served in the USMC. He loved to play tennis, boat and fish on Long Pond, play cards, travel and spend time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. JOHN RALPH COZZA John Cozza, age 61, of Pittsburgh, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 21, 2019, while working in the US Virgin Islands. He was a loving son, devoted husband, proud father, true friend, Emmaus brother and child of God. John is survived by his wife, Rebecca, his daughter, Marissa; and numerous dear cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mae Cozza (Miller), his father, Ralph J. Cozza, his father-in-law, William E. Sigler, his mother-in-law, Patricia B. Sigler, his godmother, Marie Cicco Hramika, and his aunt, Maria Abbruzzese. John was born in Pittsburgh on August 23, 1958. He attended St. Bernard's and South Hills Catholic schools. He completed the Carpenters' Apprenticeship Program and became a proud member of Local Union 142. As the quintessential Pittsburgh Dad, John loved the Penguins and the Steelers, and he tolerated the Pirates. His weeks old daughter sat on his lap watching the Penguins win the 1992 Stanley Cup, sparking her own love for the sport. After Super Bowl and Stanley Cup victories, John drove his truck around Pittsburgh, cheering and honking his horn. John loved his city, his local community and his church. He generously donated his time and labor to build several playgrounds in the South Hills area. He was an active member of St. Thomas More Parish, serving through The Walk to Emmaus and The Gathering of Catholic Men. Skilled in his trade, John's work was instrumental in several local building projects, including Parkway Center Mall, Century Three Mall, Shadyside Hospital, Somerset Prison, The Civic Arena, Port Authority projects, and Plum High School. John was part of the DCK Worldwide family since 2011 playing a key role in major projects including constructing the first hospital in Tortola, British Virgin Islands and rebuilding and renovating resorts damaged by hurricanes. Most recently, he served as general superintendent at the Ritz Carlton in Great Bay, St. Thomas, USVI. Wherever John worked, he always found a vibrant Catholic community that embraced him. John had recently partnered with Father Anthony Abraham and Our Lady of Mount Carmel in St. John to build the parish's first chapel. MARTY SKUTA, SR. "BIG DADDY" Marty Big Daddy Skuta, Sr., 81, of Ligonier, died Monday, September 30, 2019 at the UPMC St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born March 18, 1938, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, a son of the late Martin R. and Helen (Steets) Skuta. Marty was the proud owner/operator of Skuta Signs which he founded in 1974. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church of Youngstown and a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church, of Irwin and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 940, of Loyalhanna. Marty was a veteran of the Army serving in the Military Police. Marty served as vice president of Acre Real Estate for many years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Polish Club, of Westmoreland City, the Penn Rod and Gun Club, the Greek Club, of Snydertown, the Frontier Club, of Latrobe, the Ligonier Country Club (where he had a steak named after him the Marty Skuta Black and Blue. Marty enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, going to the Casinos, playing Bingo and spending time with his close friends, Beverly and Ron Matson. Marty was a graduate of Tarentum High School. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Constance (Myslenski) Skuta and a daughter, Mary Jo Teske and a nephew, Max Miller. Surviving are four beloved children, Christine of North Huntingdon, Marty Skuta, Jr of Irwin, Michael Skuta of Greensburg and Richard Skuta and his wife, Donna, of Irwin; three grandsons, Ryan, Andrew and Brett Skuta; two great grandchildren, Logan and Ava Skuta; two sisters Mary Kay Miller, of Murrysville and Pat Shaffer, of Murrysville a very close and dear friend Marcus Zamagias; and many cousins, friends and associates. ROBERT L. LUPEAN Robert L. Lupean, Sr., 99, passed away peacefully at home September 28, 2019, in Fleetwood, Pa. Born in Fredonia, NY, Bob obtained a teaching degree at Fredonia State Normal School. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served in the Quartermaster Corps stationed in California where he met the love of his life, Doris Mann, whom he married in 1946. Bob obtained his M.A. in business at the University of Buffalo. He worked as a teacher for two years and then established a career with Prudential and New England life insurance companies. Bob and Doris ultimately settled in Pittsburgh, PA, where they raised their four children. Upon retirement, they moved to Calabash, NC, where Bob enjoyed golfing and his five o'clock happy hour. Bob and Doris relocated to Fleetwood, PA in 2004. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Doris, and daughter, Linda. Born and raised in Argentina of British ancestry, his great-grandparents were among the first Europeans to settle in Patagonia. Roger was proudly nationalized a US citizen in 1967. He worked as an engineer at Westinghouse Air Brake from 1960-1998 with assignments in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2 years) and Johannesburg, South Africa (2 years) and was a recognized expert in railway braking systems, with three patents. After retiring from Westinghouse Air Brake, he worked as a consultant with Adtranz (now Bombardier) and STV as well as contributing to other technical and popular articles about railway history. Roger was a Communicant of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Wall, PA, active member of the Irwin Lions Club for 45 years, active in Scouting leadership for 7 years and active in the American Field Service student exchange program. A Lions service will be held at 6pm, followed by Panachida at 7pm. Divine Liturgy will be said on Saturday at 10am in Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Wall. WILLIAM JAMES WINSTON, JR. "PEE WEE" Age 79, of Pittsburgh's North Side passed away Friday, September 27, 2019. He was born to the late Neata and William James Winston, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Zahra Winston; his children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2025 Perrysville Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15214, Friday, October 4, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday October 5, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. It was William's wishes to forgo a funeral and instead be celebrated at a memorial Celebration of Life to be held at a later date in order to allow all those who loved and were impacted by him that wished to be in attendance could do so with the proper amount of time for planning and preparation.
