SCHNEIDER HAROLD J., Sr. Age 87, of Karns City, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019, at Butler Memorial Hospital. Born June 5, 1931 in Greentree, PA, a son of the late Paul and Hilda (Nimpfer) Schneider. Harold served as owner and President of H. J. Schneider Construction, Inc. until his retirement in 1999. He served as President of the Western Pennsylvania Utility Contractors Assn., and as President of the National Utility Contractors Assn. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, NRA, Judicial Watch, Elks Lodge, Lions Club, Keystone Elk Country Alliance, Butler County Law Enforcement Officers Association, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and the Ruffed Grouse Society. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and ?shing. Harold leaves behind, sons, Harold “Harry” J. (Elizabeth) Schneider, Jr. of Karns City, David L. (Deborah) Schneider of Portersville, and Daniel K. (Brenda) Schneider of Harmony; daughter, Constance “Connie” S. Gowder of Tennessee; sister, Mary Lou Murray of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren - Hilary, Jena, Dana, Harold III “Hal”, Emily Rose and Brooke and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.   In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Rose E. Schneider (Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA), brothers, Paul and Raymond Schneider, sister, Lois Thompson, and granddaughter, D'Ann Schneider. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday, February 17, 2019, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 124 E. North Street, Butler. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 18, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean Street, Butler, with Father John Baver as celebrant. KLOS LARRY L . Age 75, peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 of Beechview. Beloved husband of 47 years to Patricia L. "Patti" (Healy) Klos; loving father of Kimberly A. (Michael) Ferrari and Justin L. (Jennifer) Klos; devoted Pap of Alexandra E. and Ashley N. Ferrari, William L., Gavin J. and Matthew J. Klos; special companion of Chloe; son of the late Henrietta Klos; brother of the late Gary D. (Janet) Klos. Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law and their families and numerous close friends. Larry served in the U.S. Army in Germany, he was a member and past president of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local #85 and was an avid golfer. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. MAZUR FRANK JOSEPH, Jr. Age 87, of Washington, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, in Bridgeville Rehab and Care Center. He was born on February 12, 1932, in Carnegie, a son of the late Frank J. and Ann Zarvis Mazur. A 1950 graduate of Robinson Township High School, he was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. Mr. Mazur had worked as a supervisor for Owens Brockway Glass Company. He often appeared on public television in Zanesville, OH, talking about the company. Frank enjoyed playing golf. On June 14, 1952, he married Lillian A. Morne, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Frank Joseph (Patricia) Mazur, III, and Kenneth David (Joyce) Mazur; two brothers, Fred (Ann) Mazur and James (Karen) Mazur; a sister, Barbara Katz; four grandchildren, Marianne (Pete) McGill, Michael Mazur, David (Kaitlyn) Mazur and Amanda Mazur; and two great grandchildren, Cheyenne McGill and Elijah Holly?eld.   Deceased are a brother, Richard Mazur and a sister, Dorothy Norton.   Friends will be received on Friday, February 15, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., in the WILLIAM G. KUSHNER GEORGE Age 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. He was born on May 2, 1933 to the late Michael and Susan Kushner. George was a native of Pittsburgh and retired from Bell Atlantic. He was a 1955 graduate of Washington and Jefferson College and a retired Lt. Col. of the Army Reserves. George was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Norma Jean Kushner. He is survived by his sons, George M. (Diane) and David (Marie); daughters, Barbara Repasy and Patricia Stephens (Mark); grandchildren, George, Thomas, Katherine, Matthew, Samuel, Casey, Dean, Trevor and Abigail. Funeral liturgy will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Byzantine Church in McKees Rocks, PA. DWYER JAMES DANIEL Age 85, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019. Originally from New York City, Dwyer lived in Wexford for 36 years before moving to the Washington, D.C., area in 2016. A graduate of Manhattan College, he worked as a civil engineer for the American Bridge Division of U.S. Steel, and the Port Authority of Allegheny County for almost 50 years. He was preceded in death by Patricia Anne, his wife of 43 years. He is survived by his children: daughters Kathleen, of Boston; Patricia, of Carol Stream, Illinois; and sons Kevin and Brian, of Alexandria, Virginia; and Robert of Arlington, Virginia; and ten grandchildren. MILLER JAMES J. Age 76, of Lincoln Place, passed away surrounded by his family and loved ones at Jefferson Hospital on February 13, 2019. Jim was born and raised in the Lawrenceville area of Pittsburgh, the son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Conway) Miller. Jim was the beloved husband of Susan (Yarnell) Miller for 52 years; cherished father of Deb, Jim (Tina) and Steve (Nicole) Miller; loving grandfather of Jesse Keenan and Gianna Miller. Preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and Paul Miller. Jim was a U.S. Air Force Veteran where he was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base outside of Las Vegas, NV. GAUL LOUIS M. Age 89, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away on February 12, 2019. Born May 27, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Lou graduated from Penn Hills High School then attended the University of Pittsburgh where he also obtained his master's degree. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean con?ict and returned to work for Jonasson's Department in downtown Pittsburgh. There he met and married Joanne Hartnett of McKeesport. During a long and varied career, he used his many talents as both a banker and retailer managing what was then the Horne's Store in the Monroeville Mall. Fellow coworkers admired both his dedication and work ethic. Lou and Joanne enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage and were wonderful parents to their three sons. Six grandchildren delighted in their Pop-Pop as he regaled them with his entertaining stories, various antics and his encyclopedic knowledge of events both current and past. Lou's passions were classical music, golf and family. He was a voracious reader and always had a book nearby. For decades he played the organ for worship at his home church, Grace Lutheran, in Universal. His last years were spent at Concordia's Haven 2, where he fostered many good friendships and was admired for his wit, kindness and willingness to help out a neighbor. His sweetheart passed in 2017 after a long illness. This past Christmas, Lou journeyed to California to celebrate the holiday with his whole family and its newest member, his great-grandson, Enzo. He is survived by his sons Timothy (Maureen), Randy (Doretta) and Jeff. His grandchildren, Elena (Victor), Julian, Gabriel, Connor, Avery and Evan and great-grandson Enzo Antonia's Escamilla. GUIDA BARBARA (ECKEL) It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara (Eckel) Guida, Age 77, of Moon Twp. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. She was born in St. Paul, MN on May 14, 1941 the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Filler) Eckel. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard L. Guida in 2014. Barbara, known to family as ‘big red', had a contagious laugh and lived life with a smile that would light up any room. Barbara demonstrated a love that knew no bounds by giving herself fully in the care of her husband Richard, during the last dif?cult years of his life. She learned and did so much to help him through those challenging times. It was a monumental testament to the love they shared; a strong bond that never faltered. MOORE SARA "SALLY" (MCFALL) Age 93, a longtime resident of Mount Lebanon, PA, and Chautauqua, NY, on Monday, February 11, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Frank W. Moore; enormously devoted mother of Jane Moore, of Mount Pleasant, SC., and her granddaughters, Ann and Sara Wilson; daughter of the late William B. and Ruth (McKee) McFall; sister of the late Martha “Petie” McFall Schall, aunt of William and Sally Schall. Born in Washington, PA, Sally was a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and Bucknell University. She worked as personal assistant to William DuPont, in Wilmington, DE, and for U.S. Steel, in Pittsburgh. As a volunteer, Sally supported countless programs at Chautauqua Institution, her church, the Girl Scouts in Mt. Lebanon and was a faithful poll worker. She was a longtime member of Southminster Presbyterian Church, Valley Brook Country Club, The Duquesne Club, South Hills College Club, Mt. Lebanon Republican Women, and The Chautauqua Golf Club. A loyal friend with a classic style, Sally supported her community, entertained her circle with perceptive humor, and loved chocolate. No visitation. RHODES TERRY C. Age 80, of Upper St. Clair passed away on February 12, 2019. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 22, 1938 to Armond (Ned) and Virginia H. (nee Creig) Irwin.Terry graduated from Westerville High School, Ohio in 1956 before enlisting in the U.S. Navy on August 23, 1956. Upon his honorable discharge in 1958 he ventured to California before ?nding work as an engineer within the steel industry. He spent 30 years at Crucible Compaction Metals in Oakdale, PA before retiring in 2008. Terry was one of the world's leading experts in the operation of Crucible's atomizer and was the lead inventor for multiple patents. In retirement he enjoyed playing golf and working at the USC tennis hut. In December, 1983, Terry married the love of his life, Valerie (Valentino) Thelk, and they enjoyed over 35 years of happiness together. Terry was instrumental in helping to raise Valerie's three children. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his stepfather, John R. Rhodes Jr. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sisters, Susanne Philips of Bladensburg, Ohio and Lucinda Austermiller also of Bladensburg; brother John Rhodes of Grove City, Ohio; stepson Richard (Mary Beth) Thelk of Pittsburgh, stepson Michael (Amy) Thelk of Virginia and stepdaughter Stephanie (Ken) Graham along with nine step grandchildren. SHUTTY RITA Age 95, of Stowe Township, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 14, 2019. Beloved wife of 53 years of the late Mike Shutty, who were previous owners for 50 years of Shutty's Hilltop Inn and a member of St. Malachy's Church. Active member of St. Malachy's bowling league for 30 years. Her loves were Sunday dinners with family until present day, her ?ower garden and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan. Loving mother of Michael (Barb), Christine Brown (the late Walt) and Diane/Ty-Ty Hooper (Dennis); cherished grandma of Cheri Newman (Josh), Carrie Lynch (Frank), Tina Brown (Josh), and Melissa Brown (Kyle) and; great-grandma to Cailyn, Ciara, Aidyn, Declan, Nicholas, Courtney and a new grandson in April and host of great, great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. SUNDAY at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC ., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Twp., where transfer Prayers are offered at 9:30 a.m. MONDAY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Malachy Church.
