SCHAUB GARY J., Sr. Age 75, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Beloved husband of 51 years of MaryAnn (Mendrola) Schaub; loving father of Gary J. Schaub, Jr.; son of the late Woodrow and Lydia (Guest) Schaub; beloved brother of Wayne, Bruce, and the late Clayton Schaub; loving uncle of Kathleen, Debra, Michael, Lisa, LoraLea, and Ronald; also survived by several great- nieces and nephews; brother- in-law of Bonnie McClure, Margie Schaub, and Tawney Keller; cousin of James Schaub. Gary was a former letter carrier in Mt. Washington/Mt. Oliver. He graduated from St. Justin High School and served in the US Army in Korea. NIEMAN MARIAN ELIZABETH Age 87, formerly of Star City, WV, and had been residing in Pittsburgh, PA, near her daughter, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019, at the Southwestern Assisted Care Home in West Mif?in, PA. The adopted daughter of the late David and Sarah Guthrie Van Sickle, she was born July 8, 1931, in Cuzzart, WV. Marian spent her childhood years in Hazelton, WV, and was a member of the Church of the Brethren.   She graduated from Bruceton High School in 1947 and attended Morgantown Business College.   She was employed at Sterling Faucet, Montgomery Ward, and then West Virginia University from where she retired.   She was a member of the Cumberland Moose Lodge 271 and the F.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary 2373 in Fairmont, WV.   She was active in bowling leagues and volunteered at Mon General Gift Shop, Mon Point Nursing Home, and the Rosenbaum Family Home.   After she retired, she enjoyed traveling with Morgantown Seniors and friends, playing games on her computer, watching TV, reading, and spending winters in Florida and Arizona. Marian is survived by a son and his spouse, Richard and Ida Nieman; a daughter and her spouse, Deborah and Charles Koch; six grandchildren, Amber and Adam Armstrong, Sara Nieman Paschke and her spouse, Chris, Cody Nieman, Shelby Nieman and companion, Miles Helmick and Skylar Nieman; ?ve great- grandchildren, Andrew, Tyler and Collin Armstrong, Erich Raymond and Benton Paschke; two half-brothers, Bob Lawson and his spouse, Annabelle and Jackson Lawson; and several nieces and nephews. THOMPSON JOHN FREDERICK , JR . Age 63, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019, and survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Murray Thompson. A Pittsburgh native, John was born on August 5, 1955, at St. Clair Hospital to the late John Frederick Thompson Sr. and Katy K. Thompson of Mt. Lebanon, PA. Also, brother to Jeff (Jocelyn) Thompson and Jamie (LuAnn) Thompson. John was a graduate of Upper St Clair High School, then attended West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he met Kim Murray, his blushing bride of 40 years. John was father to three adoring daughters, Beth (Brad) Grealy, Christie (Chad) Jones, Laura (John) Engel; and “Opa” to ?ve grandchildren whose lives will forever be enriched by his imaginative bedtime stories, his well-timed jokes, adventures at his home away from home Pike Run Country Club, and his unique ability to turn any ordinary activity into an awe-inspiring journey. John was Vice President of Construction for A.R. Building, and Partner of Brooks & Blair Homes. As a lifelong home developer, John's vision can be seen in the communities he created, such as Hill Station Manor, The River's Edge of Oakmont, and others. EVANCHO VILMA H. (TOTH) Age 85, formerly of Munhall, PA, passed away at her home February 9th, 2019, in Hollywood, Florida. She was born May 10th, 1933, to Joseph and Anna Toth of West Homestead, PA. Vilma graduated from Munhall High School in 1951. She and Edward (Ed) Evancho were married in 1957. In 1997, she retired from Turner Corporation and moved to Hollywood, Florida, to be closer to her children. Vilma is survived by children: Lisa Evancho Hollywood, FL, Wayne (Peggy) Evancho of Davie, FL, and Amy Evancho (Erik Gunhus) of Tampa, FL; and grandchildren Stephanie (Sean) Dwyer, Meagan Evancho, Mathew Evancho, and Krystal Tamewitz (Jason Knapp); great-grandson, Jordan Knapp. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Toth of West Homestead, PA. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the beach, visiting with her children, grandchildren and great-grandson and liked sharing her lunch with her devoted buddy Gino (dog). She was preceded in death by husband Edward J. Evancho and her parents. Visitation will be Friday, February 15, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at SAVOLSKIS - WASIK - GLENN FUNERAL HOME, in Munhall. PETROS PETER G. Peter G. Petros, a man known for his quick wit, love of his family and love of life passed away peacefully on February 6, 2019 at the age of 95 at Holy Cross Village at Notre Dame. He joins his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Kostiou Petros who passed away in 2010. Pete was a gentleman and a gentle man who lived life to the fullest. He had boundless energy and always greeted friends and family with a warm smile and hearty hug. He is survived by his adoring children, Dean P. Petros, Julie Petros (daughter- in-law) of South Bend and Peter P. Petros of Chicago as well as his brother Mike Petros (Canonsburg, PA) and Nick Petros (Pittsburgh, PA) and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren. Pete was the eldest son of Fannie and Gust Petros (Canonsburg, PA). Pete accomplished many things over his 95 years including serving as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps and a nearly 50 year career at RCA where he worked in various roles from radio to television. However, anyone who knew Pete knew that his proudest accomplishment was that of the family that he and Mary raised. He loved them as much as he was loved by them and will be greatly missed. Pete was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Indianapolis prior to moving to South Bend where he became a member of Our Lady of Holy Cross Church. KORVICK RICHARD S. Age 95, of Wexford, PA, died in Overland Park, Kansas, Monday, February 11, 2019. He was born to the late Joseph and Anna Korvick of Pittsburgh, PA. Richard graduated from Allegheny HS in 1942. He served in the army during WWII, afterward using the GI Bill to complete a BS in Engineering degree at the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for Rockwell. He married Ruth M. Lehner in 1950 and spent their 63-year marriage in the Wexford, PA area, until her passing. Recently living in Kansas near his son, Richard Steven, and family. Richard Stanley was a loving father and his cheerfulness and singing brought joy to others. He was passionate about raising his ?ve children. Richard attended St. Alexis Catholic Church regularly, and more recently Nativity Church in Kansas.   Richard is survived his ?ve children: Dr. Joyce Korvick of Silver Spring, MD; Dr. Donna Korvick of San Antonio, TX; Richard Korvick of Leawood, KS; David Korvick of Fort Smith, AR, and Mark Korvick of San Jose, CA. He also is survived by seven grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren.   Family and friends received on Sunday, February 17, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at GEORGE A. ZITCOVICH JOHN P. , Sr. Of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Anna Mae; his two sons, John P. Zitcovich, Jr. and Kevin A. Zitcovich; and two grandchildren, Gregory and Lindsay Zitcovich. He is survived by his son, David Zitcovich; and his daughters, Donna (Richard) Berrish and Cindy (Jim) O'Toole; as well as ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. John served in the Army and was a decorated World War II veteran. He worked as a welder and was involved in building nuclear reactors for the USS Nautilus. Beloved husband of the late Ann (D'Alesio) Catanzano; loving father of Rose Ann Mycka and her late husband, Robert of Monroeville, Theresa Kocak and her husband, Albert of Forest Hills, and Joanne Hogan and her husband, Robert of Kennesaw, GA; dear grandfather of Joseph and Robert John "R.J." Mycka, Ryan and Justin Kocak, and Sal and Gina Hogan; great-grandfather of Hunter and Meredith Mycka; brother of Sam Catanzano and his wife, Sara, Renee Unglo and her late husband, Paul, and the late John Catanzano and his late wife, Julie; also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Joe and John were the former owners of the Triangle Bar and Grill. The business was started by their parents in 1934. Joe and John created the Battleship Sandwich, the sandwich is world famous and very popular with Pittsburghers, and has been shipped around the US. He and his wife, A. Virginia, who died in 1992, raised seven children in Murrysville. Born in 1924, Ruth was the last surviving of eight siblings. For all of her days, Ruth was a youthful spirit; she loved to laugh and always went at her own pace.
