
KOLESAR ALFRED AL On Saturday, February 22, 2014, age 85, of North Versailles. He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry for many years and was also formerly employed by Family Home Health for over 17 years. He will best be remembered as a 50-year member of the BHS-Barbershop Harmony Society. His many accomplishments include being a two-time Johnny Appleseed District Quartet champion, nine international appearances and three international seniors silver medals. He was inducted into the Barbershop Quartet Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the SPEBSQSA Hall of Fame in 1997 (now known as the Barbershop Harmony Society). He sang for over 30 years in the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Choir in McKeesport and was also a choir member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Versailles. He was well known for his robust bass vocals and legendary performances of Old Man River. A son of the late John, Sr. and Anna Kolesar; husband of the late A. Dolores Dolly (Kramer) Kolesar; beloved father of A. Duane (Sue) Kolesar, Darell (Mark) Nassis, Kevin Dean Kolesar and Beth Ann (Steven) Burke; dear grandfather of Derek Nassis, Lauren Nassis, Steven Mark Nassis, Danielle (Jason) Fairbaugh and Charmaine Unglesbee; great-grandfather of Dominic Fairbaugh; brother of Vivian Fleming, Donald Kolesar, Dolores Dolly Kudravy, the late John Jack Kolesar, Jr., and the late Alma Fanto; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; loving companion and best friend of Carmela Behr and her sons, Eric Behr, and Jeff (Pam) Behr and their children, Makaila, Simon and Jocelyn Behr.
