He graduated from St. George High School. He was a Navy Korean War veteran. He was retired from the US Post Office. He was an avid gardener. He also enjoyed reading, painting, and spending time with his family. Will is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorraine (Lawrence) Diethorn; his two children, Karen (husband David) Currence of Murrysville and David (wife Reta) Diethorn of Plum; his grandchildren, Lauren, Wallace, Michael (wife Amanda), Dena (husband Clinton), and Mara; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Jameson, and Hunter; sister, Rita; brother, James; and several nieces and nephews. SWINDELL PHYLLIS SUTTON Age 88, on Saturday, April 29, 2017, surrounded by family, she went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born November 14, 1928, in Crafton, PA, daughter of the late Earl W. and Claire (Miller) Sutton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Brass Swindell and son, Robert Hunter Swindell. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family, including her sons, Gary (Marlene) Swindell and Dale Swindell; daughter, Robin (David) Swindell Durr; grandchildren, Jesse (Audra) Swindell, Andrew (Beth) Swindell, Hunter (Emily) Swindell, Mallory (Graner) Durr Thorne, Rebecca Durr, Haley Durr, and Claire Durr. Also survived by four great- grandchildren, Caroline, Brooks, Callie and Davis; a brother, Earl Sutton; and a sister, Sue Sutton Mertz. After graduating Westminster College, Phyllis worked for the University of Pittsburgh and in 1949, she married her childhood sweetheart, Bob Swindell. They were married for 36 years until Bob passed away in 1985. After his death, Phyllis ran the family business, Dell Fastener Corp., until it was sold. Her faith shaped all that she did and she loved her church, Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian, especially her time singing with the choir there. She also loved Pittsburgh and anything to do with the city, closely following every Pittsburgh sports team. After 54 years living in Mt. Lebanon, Phyllis moved to Providence Point, also in Mt. Lebanon. Phyllis' family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the loving, caring staff there. Per Phyllis' request, service and interment were private. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Tina was a veterinary tech and had been the manager of Dog Central Daycare in Hampton. She loved animals and wanted to save them all. She was involved with Animal Rescue and PETA. She had a rescued dog and many cats. She is survived by her mother, Helen Papale; sister, Nicole Papale; brother, Christopher Papale; fiancé, Chris Pasilowski; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including her Godfather, Dean Sarricks.
