SAMUELS CHARLES M. “CHICK” Of Turtle Creek, age 94, on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Southwest Veterans Home. Beloved husband of the late Ruth M. (Heh) Samuels for 67 years; loving father of Elaine (Donald) Mehalik of North Braddock and Kathleen (Gary) Mitcheltree of VA; dear grandfather of Michael (Kristen) and Michelle Mehalik and Amanda and Emily Mitcheltree; great-grandfather of Kayla and Dylan Mehalik, Aden and Natalie Mitcheltree. Chick was the last survivor of seven siblings. Chick was a WWII Army veteran and a forklift driver for the former Continental Can Co. in West Mifflin where he won a Forklift Rodeo Championship. After the plant's closure, he became employed with Giant Eagle in Monroeville. For many years, Chick was a regular volunteer at the VA Hospital at Highland Drive. VASILADIOTIS LYNDA RYAN Of Sewickley, PA, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at McGee Women's Hospital from complications stemming from her chemo treatment for breast cancer. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her husband, daughter, son, and daughter-in-law. Lyn was born September 9, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Eleanor and James Ryan. Lyn spent a good part of her youth in Michigan, moving back to New Jersey with her parents during her high school years. She graduated from Katharine Gibbs School in New York City and held various jobs including Executive Assistant to the CEO's of two major companies in the New York area. In 1974, she gave up her career to support her husband Bill's career with Westinghouse and Eaton Corporation as they moved from New York to St. Louis and then assignments in Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Greenwood (SC) and then back to Pittsburgh. She loved living in Sewickley and, in 1983, she began her main and most important career position – Mom. She was always active in her children's lives and in the communities in which we lived- doing volunteer work at a halfway house for mentally challenged individuals; teaching art to at risk children in Chicago; Garden Club of Sewickley; Women's Auxiliary of SV Hospital; Marketing Chair for the Sewickley Antique Show; Child Health; Soccer Coach; PTA member; and, in her spare time, doing artwork and playing bridge. Lyn is survived by her husband, best friend and love-of-her life, Bill; her daughter, Michel of Sewickley, PA; her son, Luke and daughter-in-law, Lisa of Bulger, PA; and her two grandchildren, Nicholas and Allison; and, her brother-in-law, Ken Manley of Steamboat Springs, CO. Lyn was predeceased by her sister Diane Manley. Lyn loved life and life loved Lyn. Her ashes will be interred in Sewickley in a private family ceremony. A Memorial Mass, open to all, will be celebrated in her honor at St. James Catholic Church in Sewickley, later this Spring, followed by a luncheon to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, Lyn would ask that you love one another with all your heart. Donations may be made in Lyn's name to the American Cancer Society or St. James Catholic Church of Sewickley. EDINGER STELLA Of North Versailles, age 93, on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Robert Edinger for 54 years. Stella is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her former next-door neighbor and still special friend, Gemma (Sapet) Pack and her family. Stella was preceded in death by her brothers, Alex and Nick Males; and her sister, Nellie Toth. Stella was a longtime employee of the North Versailles Water Authority and retired with near 40 years of service. She was an independent, spirited and fiery woman and she still enjoyed her shrimp and beer outings on Tuesday. Stella also was fond of visiting casinos in Las Vegas and Pittsburgh and taking in the comedy shows. She was a champagne connoisseur and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Pearl was the wife of the late Wendell Dale Fouser; dear mother of Rich D. (Elizabeth) Fouser of Penn Hills, Chris D. (Paula Coulson) Fouser of Pitcairn and the late Jody A. STARK DONALD E. “W3TVG” Age 94, a resident of Country Meadows, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Betty “B.J.” (Way) Stark for 66 years; loving father of Donna (Paul) Fox; caring uncle of Judy Way Sudatz, Sherry Way Galisin, and the late Donald Way; son of the late Rawson and Irene (Bogart) Stark. Donald grew up in Rosslyn Farms and attended Langley High School. In 1938, he received his amateur radio license and was a founding member of the Steel City Radio Club. He met his wife Betty through this lifelong hobby. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1944 and became a Registered Professional Engineer. He worked at Union Switch and Signal until his retirement in 1986. He was a 32nd Degree Life Member of the Masons and an avid researcher of family history. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUES. ADAMS JAMES ALEXANDER “DIAMOND JIM” Age 82, of Cranberry Twp., passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Born February 17, 1935 in Curtisville, PA, he was the son of the late James A. and Elizabeth Spence Adams. Jim was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, who loved motors, speed and racing. He was an owner/operator “over the road” truck driver for 52 years. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by neighbors, co-workers, family and dear friends.
