
VALLEY HAROLD J. HAL Born October 14, 1928, passed away March 15, 2016, in Miami, FL. He was the beloved husband of Matilda Mattie Valley; loving father of David (Carolyn), Patricia, Michael, Gregory (Diane) and the late Jeffrey (Jamie); cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Hal was a member of the 2nd Armored Division, US Army serving in Germany during the Korean War. He started his Customs career, US Treasury on the Texas - Mexican Border in Brownsville, TX - then transferred to Houlton, Maine. In 1968 he became Resident Agent - in - charge for Western PA and West Virginia in Pittsburgh until his retirement in 1980. Hal was in the 1st group of federal agents to serve as Sky Marshalls in 1970. For many years, he was active in Peters Township Youth Football and Little League Baseball programs. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and spent over 30 years wintering in Key Largo, FL. A memorial mass will be held May 6, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Benedict the Abbot Church, 120 Abington Dr., McMurray, PA 15317. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
