VALLEY HAROLD J. “HAL” Born October 14, 1928, passed away March 15, 2016, in Miami, FL. He was the beloved husband of Matilda “Mattie” Valley; loving father of David (Carolyn), Patricia, Michael, Gregory (Diane) and the late Jeffrey (Jamie); cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Hal was a member of the 2nd Armored Division, US Army serving in Germany during the Korean War. He started his Customs career, US Treasury on the Texas - Mexican Border in Brownsville, TX - then transferred to Houlton, Maine. In 1968 he became Resident Agent - in - charge for Western PA and West Virginia in Pittsburgh until his retirement in 1980. Hal was in the 1st group of federal agents to serve as Sky Marshalls in 1970. For many years, he was active in Peters Township Youth Football and Little League Baseball programs. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and spent over 30 years wintering in Key Largo, FL. A memorial mass will be held May 6, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Benedict the Abbot Church, 120 Abington Dr., McMurray, PA 15317. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. STRICKLETT JULIA A. Of Mt. Lebanon, PA, died peacefully in her sleep, on Sunday, May 1, 2016, in Villa Rica, GA. Julia was born November 26, 1915, in Akron, Ohio and lived independently past her 100th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Roch Bertram Stricklett; devoted mother of John B. “Jay” Stricklett of Los Angeles, CA and Janeice Kjorlien (William) of Villa Rica, GA; sister of Ethel Cecil of Copley, OH and Helen Wright of Ocala, FL; also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great-grandchild, nieces and nephews. Julia was a devoted Sunday School teacher for over 50 years at Mt. Lebanon Christian Church. She owned National Studios, a family photography business in Pittsburgh with her late husband, Bert, brother-in-law, William Stricklett and sister-in-law, Joan Stricklett. He was born May 26, 1954, in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late William A. and Sara Kathryn (Forgie) Conforti. Prior to his retirement, he was a driver for Schwebel's Bakery of Pittsburgh. Bill, along with his wife and family, owned and operated Conforti's Pizzeria of North Huntingdon. He was a member and former Union Steward for Teamsters Local Union 485 of Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Harrold Zion Lutheran Church of Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a baby daughter; and a sister and brother-in-law, Meridith and Donald Felt. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Sue Ann (Campbell) Conforti; a son, William A. Conforti and his wife, Nicole, of Greensburg; two granddaughters, Olivia and Nikayla Conforti; mother and father-in-law, Edmund and Jewell Campbell, of Monroeville; a brother-in-law, Kevin Campbell and his wife, Lisa, of Murrysville; nephews, Donald Felt and his wife, Angelyne, of TX, Kenneth Felt and his wife, Donna, of FL and Kevin and Matthew Campbell; his beloved pet dog, Jack; and several close family and friends.
