SCHWEERS MARK ERIC On March, 10, 2016, Mark Eric Schweers, age 62, of McCandless. Mark was the devoted husband of 38 years to Sandra Schweers; loving father of Mark, Jr., Jennifer (Patrick) Lutz, Julie Schweers and her fiancé, Michael Pazzula; beloved son of Kathryn and the late William Schweers; brother of William (Merrily) Schweers, Jr., Mary (David) White, Timothy (Andrea) Schweers, Katie (Timothy) Corcoran and the late Robert Schweers. Mark was a graduate of North Allegheny High School, Washington and Jefferson College and Duquesne University School of Education. He was a dedicated Special Education teacher at Pine-Richland High School where he worked for nearly 14 years. He was passionate about his work with students with disabilities. He was known throughout the school and community as an immensely kind, patient and selfless individual. Mark was also a talented athlete. In 2011 he was inducted into the North Allegheny Athletic Hall of Fame for his pursuits in football and wrestling. Additionally, he was an avid runner and competed in countless 5k's, 10k's and marathons, including the Boston Marathon in 1998. He shared his love of running with his family and regularly competed alongside them. This was a source of true happiness for him. Mark was a longtime parishioner of Saints John and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Sewickley where he took great joy and pride in volunteering as a lector. ONQUÉ BROCK TRAVIS, Ph.D. Passed away on March 9, 2016. He was born July 29, 1960, to Earle Travis Onqué and Dr. Gloria Cochrane Onqué. Brock attended Shadyside Academy in Fox Chapel and Hobart and William Smith Colleges in upstate New York. Brock received a master's degree in architecture from the University of Virginia. He practiced architecture for several years in the Pittsburgh area and then returned to school to pursue a doctorate degree in urban planning from the University of Pittsburgh. Brock received his Ph.D. in 2006. Brock loved his hometown and hometown sports, particularly the Steelers and Pitt basketball. He served on several boards including the Homewood Housing Association and the Quantum Theatre. Brock was preceded in death by his mother, Dr. Gloria Cochrane Onqué; his brother, Craig Cochrane Onqué; and his father, Earle Travis Onqué. Brock is survived by his sister, Sheri Onqué Eastman (Dan); his niece, Nicole Eastman Scambray (Daniel); grandnephew, Jackson Scambray; and nephew, Jesse Eastman (Jenna).
