Mary D.
Mother lovingly remembered today...the 100th anniversary of your birth. An accomplished singer in the 1920's and 1930's winning the Paul Whiteman National Talent Search in 1932, winner on the Major Bowe's Original Amateur Hour competition. You also sang on early KDKA radio, WWSW (now 3WS) and KQV in Pittsburgh. You had your own program on WHJB Greensburg radio in the 1930's and continued performing locally through the 1950's and 1960's, including performances with singers like Margaret Whiting. You performed at Kennywood Park on nationality days, on the Slovak Radio Hour and at Idlewild Park. All of these good things are only overshadowed by your love of God, your family, your Catholic faith and your country. The humility, love and charity you and dad shared with all God's children and your unconditional love as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother are wonderful gifts. Thank you for setting such a wonderful example for your family to follow. We know you are with dad in heaven, and you are missed and loved by your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY, Grammy. Love you forever.
