She was a seamstress for a cleaner and enjoyed crafts, ceramics and was a wonderful baker. Beloved wife of 67 years to the late Albert Soltis; mother of Sister Linda Soltis, SCN of McCandless Twp. and Janice McDowell of West Mifflin and her former spouse, Keith McDowell and the late Raymond (surviving spouse Mary Ellen) Soltis, the late Sandra Soltis and the late Martin Soltis; also four grandchildren, Cheryl (Andrew) Martel, Stephany (fiancé Matthew Swalley) Soltis, Chad McDowell and Matthew McDowell; great-grandmother of Charles Raymond Martel. HARTMANN HOWARD G., Jr. Age 80, of Upper St. Clair, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Beloved father of Deborah L. Riley, Valerie L. (Keith) Kindlin, Linda M. (Robert) Stipetich and Lori D. (Kevin) Heenan; loving grandfather of Jackie Removcik, William Anderson, Michael Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Jamie Tesfazion, Thomas Striegel, Zachary Doebler, Sara Heenan, Adam Heenan; brother of the late Jean C. Hartmann and David B. Hartmann; also survived by nine great- grandchildren. Howard was President and owner of Hartmann Associates, Inc. from 1979 until his retirement. He was the Past President of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors and Founder of the Southwest Chapter of PSLS, member of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers, and the American Federation of Musicians. He was a longtime trombonist performing with several Pittsburgh Jazz Bands including Benny Benack Band, Benny Benack and the Dodge Kids, Dixie Doc, the Tuesday Night Big Band, and the RedHot Ramblers Dixieland Band. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1-8 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, where Services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. MORDACCI MARY (SALVITTI) “GAGGY” Formerly of Scott Township, age 94, went to be with her Lord peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2016, to join her beloved husband, Alfred J. Mordacci. Loving mother of Mary Jo (John) Marinacci and Gary Mordacci; grandmother of Trish (Joe) Bonacci Yates; great-grandmother of Nicole, Lindsay, and Jimmy Bonacci; sister of Norena Engelbert, James Salvitti, and Gloria Paolicelli. Mary is also survived by her loving niece, Jane Sarra; and many other nieces and nephews. Mary was owner and manager of the former Union Trust Pharmacy for 18 years. She also volunteered at St. Clair Hospital for 13 years. Mary was a wonderful woman who had a huge heart. She also was an amazing cook and homemaker, who devoted most of her life to her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her loving and caring nature and devotion to her family. DZVONICK FRANK ANDREW Age 66, of Apollo Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Lifepath Sun City Center Hospice House, Ruskin, Florida after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. He was born August 8, 1949, in McKeesport, PA, a son of the late John Dzvonick and Katherine (Zubovic) and Cyril Germak. Frank retired from Greenleaf Corporation as a sales and service engineer and was machine shop supervisor at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was Methodist by faith. A graduate of South Allegheny High School and attended Penn State University. Surviving are his wife, Beverly (Hays) Dzvonick; daughters, Tara Dzvonick and companion, Anthony Mougianis of Wintersville, OH and Dana (Chris) Ighnat of Hilliard, OH; brother, John (Lauren) Dzvonick of McKeesport, PA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Don Latkovic, Karen and Bill Crotty; father-in- law, Clair Hays; grandchildren, Alexandra Martin and fiancé, Rossi Ficca, Carli Julio, Jackson Julio, Aiden Ighnat, Ava Ighnat; great-grandson, Brentley Ficca; nieces and nephews. FOSTER WILLIAM L., Jr. Passed away on January 18, 2016, age 91, at the H.J. Heinz VA Center, after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Foster was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Stunder); and his sister, Jean Jenkins of California. He is survived by his son, William III and his wife, Janice (Roper) of Anita, PA. He had three grandchildren, Wm. Michael of San Diego, CA, David L. of Portland, OR and Justine M. (Derek) Toven of Anita, PA. Mr. Foster, at his request, bequeathed his body to the furtherance of science. As such, a memorial gathering has been planned in his honor. SZWARC WALTER J. Age 65, formerly of Bradfordwoods, died on January 26, 2016, in Colorado Springs, CO. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn (Riordan) Szwarc; his loving daughters, Emily (Austin) Sherwood and USAF Lt. Col. Meghan Szwarc, both of Colorado Springs; and his son, Doug (Megumi) Szwarc of Cupertino, California; devoted grandfather to Teo and Lyren Sherwood and Miyako and Kiyoko Szwarc. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter A. Szwarc and Julia (Parylak) Szwarc; survived by his siblings, Catherine (Paul) Whalen, Frank (Belinda) Szwarc, Michael (Maria) Szwarc and Tony Szwarc. Born and raised in Braddock, he attended St. Thomas High School, graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A., B.S. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering. He was a Naval Aviator, an Engineer for Boeing and was a Captain for USAirways. He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. on a date to be determined.
