LENARD JOSEPHINE E. (WISNIOWSKI) Age 91, of Bellevue, passed away in peace and serenity with her daughter, Joan, and son, Henry, Jr. at her bedside in St. Margaret's Hospital on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Josephine was a loving mother and an amazing grandmother. Her optimism and sense of humor was inspiring and refreshing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; daughter, Marcia Katterhenry; and brother, Paul Wisniowski. In addition to Joan Allen and her husband, Robert, and Henry Lenard, Jr. and his wife, Helen, she is survived by five grandchildren, Jason Katterhenry (Laura), Jeffrey Katterhenry (Kiri), Kendall Allen, Chase Allen and Henry Lenard III; sister, Dorothy (Harry) Wonderling and son-in-law, Louis Katterhenry. Josephine was born in Pittsburgh's Woods Run neighborhood on July 13, 1924, and graduated from Oliver High School. She was a shining light to all who knew her. Josephine worked for many years as payroll manager for Schaffner Manufacturing Co. in Emsworth. She was also very active for a number of years in numerous civic and charitable organizations in the North Boroughs, including the Christian Mothers of Assumption Church, Emeritus, North Suburban Adult Services, Community Club of Emsworth and the Suburban General Hospital Senior Auxiliary. A private viewing for immediate family members will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015, at LAWRENCE T. CLARK MAUREEN JOAN Age 77, of South Park, PA, formerly of Brookline, PA passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Born on April 8, 1938, in Pittsburgh, PA she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Carr. Loving mother of Matthew (Veronica), Scott (Deborah), Kurt (Dawn) and Christine Lewis and dear sister of Rosemary Kurtz; cherished grandmother of Jonathan, Stephanie, Jordan, Cory, Ashley, Timothy, Max, Lily, Victoria and Erika. Also blessed with many nieces and nephews. Maureen was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and a dear friend to many. Maureen also loved planting, cooking, donating to various charities and she was a devout practicing Catholic. Maureen enjoyed raising and breeding the top Great Danes in the nation. She created a legacy bloodline of champion dogs known as "Sharcon Great Danes." She owned, operated and managed Parkview Kennels in South Park, PA. Maureen was a true legend in the Great Dane Community. Her family is very proud of her for not only following her passion in life, but also turning it into a successful career. CRIST JOSEPH GEORGE Died on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Beloved husband of Rosemary Crist and father of Mary Rose Callain, Marjorie Crist, and the late Joseph T. Crist; grandfather of Carolyn, Megan, Julia, and Rosemary, and deceased quadruplets, Joseph, Patrick, Mairead and Roisin; brother of Margaret Buesser and the late Harold Crist; and brother-in-law of Thomas Delahanty and Robert Buesser. His parents were Henry and Margaret Sheehy Crist. Joseph was born on March 3, 1930, in Paterson, NJ. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Pennsylvania State University. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the Notre Dame Club of Pittsburgh, and the Penn State Alumni Association. After receiving his doctorate from Penn State, he was granted a Fellowship at Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh and later worked in research and environmental areas for United States Steel for 29 years. He had been a parish lector and taught CCD, and in his retirement years enjoyed taking classes at the University of Pittsburgh and serving as a volunteer income tax preparer. ZIEGLER MARILYN Age 72, of McKeesport, died November 19, 2015, at Overlook Green, in Whitehall. Born June 27, 1943, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Frank Lovas and Mary (Gall) Lovas and beloved wife of the late James A. Ziegler. Marilyn had a strong faith and was an active member of the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church which was like a second family to her. She was very active in volunteer work, especially for the McKeesport Salvation Army. Marilyn loved to sing, having been a part of the church choir, as well as the Alcoa Choir. Marilyn's generosity and support towards others will be missed by all who knew her. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Terersa Potts of Lawrenceville; sister, Toni Walters of Elrama; brother, Frank (Grayce) Lovas of Chile; her stepchildren, step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. KACZKA RICHARD C. Born October 8, 1929, in Glassport, PA, departed this world, on November 19, 2015, after living a very full life. Rich spent 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After traveling the world in the Air Force and attaining the rank of Master Sergeant, he retired right back where he began in Glassport. He was the 12th of 14 children of Anthony and Antonette (Kumiega) Kaczka. He is survived by four of his siblings, Stephanie Edmundson of White Oak, PA, Mildred Prejean of Sulfur, LA, Stanley and his wife, Dorothy Kaska of Clairton, PA and John and his wife, Betty Kaczka of Glassport, PA. He was a lifelong member of Queen of the Rosary Church in Glassport. Rich was never married. Though he had no children of his own, he was an inspiring presence to his many nieces and nephews because of his generous kindness, jovial attitude and respectful wisdom. Rich followed politics with great interest, which he loved almost as much as doing his daily NYT crossword in pen. He was always quick to laugh and found real enjoyment in life in the little things. Funeral Mass to celebrate the brightness of Rich's life will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary Catholic Church in Glassport. KOVANIS NINA M. (LONIERO) Passed away, on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at home, after a struggle with cancer, of Carnegie, age 65. Nina was a beloved teacher at Crafton Elementary School, retiring in 2013, after many years of doing what she loved to do, surrounded by coworkers who became a second family to her. She also loved the beach and would go as often as she could, though she hardly got her toes wet! The hot sand and cool breezes were enough. Nina was happy to be a grandma to John; mom to Marisa and Jimmy; and most especially wife to Jim. She will be missed by so many.
