JAMES DENNIS B. 12/25/1949, D....

JAMES DENNIS b. 12/25/1949, d. 3/19/2015. Tell me not the news that weighs my heart graveward: The great man that some once called, "Munhall's Superman", is dead! Christmas born, lover of life, Master of sporting games, lettering thrice, and only because no letter was given for street fighting…Flyfisherman, music production staffer, culinary artist, wagon train handler for troubled youth, medical supply specialist, respiratory therapist, and semi-pro baseballer who tried out for the Pittsburgh Pirates ("at least I met Pie Traynor!"). Did he not live three lives before his accident at 39? He was a magnet for the heroes that stood with him and supported him. Dennis went about, shaking everyone's hands and saying, "Hi!" Some viewed him as the Mayor of Briarcliff Pavilion in North Huntingdon. He was so loved there, and returned that love, and learned of, and knew, Jesus. He blew kisses as if he had no afflictions that rendered him wheel-bound. Did I not mention those Heroes? Janet, David, Kevin, and so many others not listed here, but admired, loved, and appreciated over 25 years! What would Denny want of us? To read the red words, to tell one another of our love, and to show that love, to visit the sick in the nursing homes and in the prisons, as they are much alike. This is the best for you, and Dennis would have no other request of you. A memorial will be held at GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME, 3511 Main Street, Munhall, on June 13, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. the family will receive friends starting at 2 p.m. First our dear mother, Hilda, at 55; then our loving brother, Larry, at 21 (by his own hand); then followed father, Paul, at 68; then brother, Rick, my hero, at 49. My family is truly now Heavenly. I, Ken, doctor of the healing arts, of Fort Worth, Texas, understand that "y'all" are now my brothers and sisters, and that we will soon be with each other again, even in more glorious days.
