McFEELEY RICHARD Richard McFeeley, beloved husband of Leslie, passed peacefully at home on Monday, April 6, 2015. He is survived by mother, AnnMarie; brother, Robert; sister, Ann; and family members in the Matro, McFeeley, and Gridler clans. Always a fan of Groucho Marx, Richard often quoted “I refuse to belong to any club that would have me as a member.” Therefore, he was not a member of any club. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Church in Crabtree, PA, with interment in St. Claire Cemetery in Greensburg. SIMON LAWRENCE “BUD” Age 90, on Friday, April 3, 2015, of West Mifflin. Beloved husband of the late Lois Simon; loving father of Larry (Thomasine) Simon and Lynn (Tom) Edenfield; proud Pappap of Elizabeth and Julie Kostilnik and Amanda Simon; brother of Loretta Coronado and the late Dorothy Hentosz; brother-in-law of Margaret Bergman; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his very dear friend, Dottie Davies. Bud served in the Navy on submarines and was a life member of the Submarine Veterans of WWII. His true passion was archery. He enjoyed shooting and officiating, but most of all he loved teaching the youths, seniors and the physically-challenged. He was an active member of PSAA and NAA and in the early 1960's he cofounded the JOAD program at the Clairton Sportsmen's Club where he was very active until recently when his health declined. He was also a Certified National Judge in archery and volunteered at the '84 and '96 Olympic games. In 2002, he was chosen to help carry the Olympic Torch to Salt Lake City. Meyer, Sr. Well-loved brother of Mary Ann of Coraopolis, Rose “Sissy” of San Antonio, TX, Denise Rucker (Mark) of Coraopolis, Richard (Fran) of Saltsburg, PA, William (Cheryl) of Magnolia Springs, AL, John (Debbie) of Kennedy, Robert (Mary) of Gardner, NC, Paul (Carol) of Hopewell and the late Thomas Meyer; many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. DUFF ELEANOR M. Age 86, of Pittsburgh, passed from this Earth to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. She was a loving wife; caring mother of two sons; grandmother of six; and great-grandmother of one. Eleanor was born on February 13, 1929, to Margaret (Sutter) Murison and William Murison. She had three sisters and one brother. Eleanor Ann Murison married Andrew Duff of Pittsburgh on Sept. 19, 1953. After marriage, they continued to live in Pittsburgh, then Florida, but in 1959 settled in Penn Hills. Eleanor is survived by her two children, Andrew W. and his wife, Margaret Wallace, and Robert J. with his wife, Kristen Wittmaier; her grandchildren are Jason, Brian, Kevin, Katie, Joshua and Alex; and the great-granddaughter, Harper. Eleanor liked playing the piano and singing. She started her own business as a retailer for wedding invitations, named Invitations by Eleanor. However, above all, she enjoyed her painting. She won numerous awards for her artwork over the years. She was supportive and active at Murrysville Bible Chapel where she taught as a Sunday school teacher. She was gifted at encouragement and service. Most notably, she was a dedicated “prayer warrior”. Many will attest that her prayers will be deeply missed. A reception will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the CHARLES W. TRENZ FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11110 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. SWARTWOOD MARGARET E. “PEGGY” Age 90, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015, at Longwood at Oakmont. She was the beloved daughter of the late William G. Swartwood and Rachel J. (Walker) Swartwood. Peggy was born in and grew up in Oakmont where she spent her entire life except for 15 years when she lived in Shadyside of Pittsburgh. She worked as a histology technician at St. Margaret Hospital and retired in 1989 after 30 years as chief histology technician at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She also volunteered for many years after retirement at Shadyside Hospital. Peggy enjoyed traveling, knitting, playing bridge with her friends and was like a grandmother to her grandcousins. She is survived by her cousin, Keith Manherz, age 97, of Pompano Beach, FL; and her second cousins, Ronald Manherz of San Diego, California, Marlene Lawton and her spouse, Edmund of Hale's Location, NH; and grandcousins, Carl Manherz, Karen Manherz, Kristen Wohlschlegel, Hollie Lawton; and five great-grandcousins. Her sense of humor will be missed by many other relatives and friends in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Service and Interment will be private. SAURO TERESINA "TERESA" (SASSI) Passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on April 7, 2015, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of 64 years to the late Gaetano Sauro; also preceded in death by her parents, Eugenio Sassi and Candia Bolsito. She was born in Gizzeria, Catanzaro, Italy and then moved in 1958 to Pittsburgh to raise her family. They lived in Mt. Oliver then settled in Brentwood. She will always be remembered for her strong family values and her Italian traditions. Her entire life was dedicated to cooking for her family every Sunday. She also found great joy in gardening, cooking and canning. Her huge heart, beautiful smile, and kindness became the cornerstone of her personality, always giving to others before herself. She was a loving mother to Aldo Sauro of Carrick, Gina Sauro Torchia (the late Albert Torchia); and dear friend, Frank Romano of Sewickley, Aurelio (Donna) Sauro of St. Pete Beach, Carmen Sauro of Brentwood, Maria Sauro Moore of South Park, Sandra Sauro (Daniel) Rauso of Jefferson Hills, and James (Donna) Sauro of Brentwood; grandmother to Annette (John), Maria (Todd), Albert, Michelle (Chris), Lisa (Rodolfo), Brian (Danielle), Julie (Clement), Shawn (Melissa), Jennifer (Michael), Tasha (TJ), Alicia (Daryl), Austin, Kyle, and Helena Teresa; also had 27 great-grandchildren. Teresa was a long-standing dedicated member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church. Her loving presence will be sorely missed but the beautiful memories with family will last forever in our hearts. She will finally be united with her devoted husband, parents, and siblings at the gates of Heaven. May she find eternal rest and salvation with our Lord. CHURMAN ANDREW P. Age 87, of Adamstown, Maryland (formerly of Pittsburgh, PA), passed away on March 22, 2015, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Stella Churman, his wife of 51 years. Born October 1, 1927, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Helen Churman. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Duquesne University. He was a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and he worked at the Maryland Casualty Company for his entire career. In addition to his loving wife, Andy is survived by his daughters, Amy Bosserman (David) and Sue Norville (Thomas); four grandchildren, Dylan and Griffin Bosserman, Andrew and Aidan Norville; and many nieces and nephews. His sisters, Martha Churman, Ellen Luther, Wilma Zotter and Erma Lander; and his brother, Robert Churman, preceded him in death. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, One Grove Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
