MASON THOMAS A. Age 72, of McCandless Township, passed away December 19, 2014, at Consulate Health Care of Cheswick, after a long, courageous battle with several medical conditions. Tom was born in Pittsburgh on June 28, 1942, to Dorothea R. (Anderson) and Arthur T. Mason. He was married to Nancy Lee (McCoy) Mason, the love of his life for 42 years. Besides his wife of Wexford Healthcare Center, he is survived by his sister, Janet Marquard; and brother-in-law, Richard Marquard of Kennett Square, PA; nephew, Michael Marquard of West Chester, PA; and niece, Lisa Marquard of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by cousins, Maureen and Thomas Soul of Scotia, NY; and several second cousins from New England. Tom grew up in Kennedy Township and the North Hills, graduating form North Allegheny High School in 1960. He received his bachelor's degree from the Univ. of Delaware, so he could be close to the Chesapeake Bay which he loved having spent his summers at the Crystal Beach Manor, MD with his maternal grandparents. Tom had a very outgoing personality and great sense of humor. He was a born salesman, and worked in sales for several years. Friends received Monday 1-4 p.m. at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7720 Perry Highway. A Committal Ceremony will be held in Allegheny Memorial Park Cemetery 10 a.m. on Tuesday. HARLOW ROBERT E. "UNCLE BOB" Age 74, on Thursday, December 18, 2014, of Bulger, PA. Son of the late Charles and Bonnie (Long) Harlow; brother of Jerry K. (Yvonne) and Mary P. Robert was generous with his time and finances toward Romanian exchange students many of whom became like his children. Everyone with whom he talked steam trains or model trains discovered his love of them. He enjoyed sharing his love of trains by shipping train sets to what he considered his Romanian grandchildren as well as his nephews. There will be no visitations. A WWII veteran, Gerry worked as a machinist for Pittsburgh Pipe And Coupling Company, which became Anvil Products. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Ehmann) Martin; daughter, Cynthia Martin; siblings, Raymond Martin, Shirley Ramsey, and Rose Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews. HOLMES PATRICIA ANN (PUTZ) Truly missed by those who loved her, Pat Holmes was born October 8, 1930, in McKeesport, PA the daughter of the late John and Barbara (Radinovic) Putz and died in McKeesport, PA, on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Widow of the late Robert F. Holmes; Pat was the loving mom of daughters, Barbara (Eric Falk) and Mary; and the beloved "Ne" to her grandchildren, Rob and Kati Falk and Trisha Holmes. She was a graduate of Carlow College (then Mount Mercy) and Duquesne University, worked at Braddock Hospital before becoming a full-time mom and was proprietor of Barbara's Confectionery in McKeesport. She was a member of St. Angela Merici Parish and its Ladies of Charity and the McKeesport Hospital Junior Committee, working in first the snack bar and then the gift shop as a volunteer for over 40 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Angela Merici Church, Fawcett Avenue, White Oak, on Saturday, December 27, 2014, gathering at 10:30 and Mass at 11 a.m. Burial in New St. Joseph Cemetery will be at a later date and private. ODLE ROBERT J. Of White Oak, died December 18, 2014. He was born in McKeesport and was the son of the late Joseph and Lucy Rosenberg Odle. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Este Berkovitz Odle, who died November 19, 1989. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He was the vice chairman for Tube City IMS in Glassport for over 64 years until he retired in 2013. Bob's vision, drive, dedication, and invaluable contributions were important factors in the evolution of the company from a regional to a global organization. He was a member of Temple B'Nai Israel in White Oak. He was a violinist for the Pittsburgh Symphony, an avid golfer and loved playing bridge. He is survived by his wife, Mariuza Carvalho Odle; children, Cindy Odle of Pgh., Wayne Odle of New Jersey, and Jennifer (Matthew Maddamma) Odle of White Oak; grandchildren, Emily and Julia Odle; brother, Richard (Phyllis) Odle of Singer Island, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. She was born April 27, 1938, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Morgan Norton. In addition to her parents, Margot was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph H. Ingersoll, in 1999. She was a member of Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church, Murrysville, and the Murrysville Women's Club. Margot is survived by a daughter, Anne Tihansky of Langhorne, PA; two sons, Scott (Karen) Ingersoll, of Murrysville, and Paul (Janet) Ingersoll, of Penn Township; and nine grandchildren, Kelsey, Katie, Kristin, Kara, Jared, Timothy, Evan, David and Emma. ANDERSON FRANCES M. (ZUCCHERO) Feb. 8, 1929 - Dec. 15, 2014. Age 85, of Hampton Twp., formerly of Shaler Twp., passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2014, at Arden Courts Personal Care Facility, surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Zucchero; beloved wife of Robert T. Anderson, Jr.; loving mother of Robert T. (Martha) Anderson III of Rockford, IL and Cathy Jo (Walt) Smith of Highland, CA; devoted grandmother of Nathan and Christine Smith; sister of the late Mary Catherine Cleary, Josephine Rizza, and Antonina “Lena” Teresi; dedicated aunt to Norman Cleary (Moira) of Oakland, Camelia McGary (Rizza) of Sun City, FL, Anthony Rizza of Hilton Head, SC, and the late Francine Teresi. Fran was the committed godmother of Lauryn (Stephen, Mila) Cessar Sacha and loving friend to her extended family, Sandra and Rick Cessar. Fran was a graduate of Penn State University, Class of 1951, School of Hospitality Management. On her June 7th wedding day, while working as a dietician for U.S. Steel Clairton Coke Works, she was provided with a police escort through picket lines to the cheers of management and labor during the steelworkers strike of 1952. She was the banquet manager at the Sheraton McKnight Road from 1968 through 1980. She was a former president of the Glensaw Century Club and a member for over 30 years. Fran was a chairperson for the annual holiday house tour and bazaar. She was well known among friends and family for her warm entertaining and elegant dinner parties. She was also a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church since 1953. Friends are invited to attend a “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service to be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 66 Grant Ave., Etna, PA 15223.
