DEMMLER SALLY A. Age 77, of Jamestown, South Shenango Twp., passed away at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Greenville on April 18, 1937, to Howard R. and Margaret L. (Blue) Axtell. She was a graduate of the former Penn High School, Greenville, was a 1972 graduate from Edinboro State College and received her master's degree in deaf education from Western Maryland College. She worked as a teacher for the hearing impaired for 30 years at the Intermediate Unit #5 in Edinboro. After retirement, Sally and her husband, John, had been the owner/ operators of Jacob's Gable Inn in Jamestown since 2005. She was one of the founding members of the Jamestown Historical Society, was a member of the spinning and weaver's guild of Crawford County, and a former 4-H leader of the friendship Grange of Mercer County. She was an avid seamstress, she had made clothing for her children, and had created wedding dresses for her daughters, and had sewn angel gowns for infant deaths at UPMC Horizon Greenville. She truly enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, reading, and knitting. Sally was a very selfless and an influential woman to all that knew her. On May 15, 1953, she married John Demmler, he survives at home. Surviving are three daughters, Michelle DePree and her husband, Todd, of Jamestown, Marcella Demmler and her companion, Nick Ceremuga, of Jamestown, Melissa Shannon and her husband, Tom, of Jamestown; five sons, John Demmler and his wife, Becky, of Hartstown, Bradley Demmler of Texas, Karl Demmler and his companion, Mary Burnett, of Hartstown, Douglas Demmler and his wife, Laura, of Jamestown, Mark Demmler and his partner, Lawrence Fisher, of Pittsburgh; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Shari Axtell Palacio of Virginia; a brother, Howard Axtell of Grove City. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard and Raymond Axtell; and a sister, Ellen Watt. Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, in St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church, Jamestown, with Rev. V. David Foradori, Pastor of the church, as celebrant. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014, in LOUTZENHISER - JORDAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 366-368 S.
