STEVENSON JAMES W. III Age 69, on August 7, 2013. He was born February 14, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA to James W. Stevenson, Jr. and Frances McConnell Stevenson. He graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1961, where he was the 1961 W.P.I.A.L. Shot-Put Champion. While attending Penn State University, he won the AAU Olympic Trials in javelin at the 1964 New York World's Fair. At Penn State he was the All American NCAA javelin champion and continues to hold the Penn State javelin record. He graduated from Penn State in 1966. He was a 1966 member of the U.S. National Track and Field Team where he competed in the U.S. vs. Russia track meet in Berkley, CA, while a member of the Los Angeles Strides Track Club. Mr. Stevenson was President of Stevenson Williams Company and served as President of the Mt. Lebanon Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of St. Clair Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf. He was also a member of the Beverly Heights Presbyterian Church. Mr. Stevenson is survived by his children, James W. IV of Bethel Park, Robert W. of Upper St. Clair, Leslie Grace of Evanston, IL, and Caroline L. (Callie) of Mt. Lebanon. He is survived by seven grandchildren and his brother, Tom, of Mt. Lebanon.
