DONALDSON JAMES N. 73, of Fairfield, CT, passed away July 18, 2013, after a brief illness. Born in Canonsburg, PA, March, 1940, he was the son of the late Attorney James Reed Donaldson and Alice Neill Donaldson. He grew up in East Washington, PA and graduated from East Washington High School in 1958. He obtained his BA in Political Science from Westminster College in 1962 and attended the University of Pittsburgh Law School from 1962-1964. Changing focus, he received his MEd Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1965, doing his educational internship at Bedford Junior High school in Westport, CT. He continued his educational career teaching at Westport's Colytown Junior High School from 1966-1967. July, 1967, he joined Bankers Trust Company, NYC, (now Deutsche Bank) first as a Trust Administrator until 1970, then as Assistant Trust Officer to 1973 when he became Trust Officer and Manager of the White Plains, NY Bankers Trust Office, a position he held until 1976. During the remainder of his years with Bankers Trust, he was in charge of the Trust Administrative Unit, becoming a Vice president in 1976, Group Manager for the Personal Trust Management Group until 1982 and section Head for the Private Clients Group. In 1983, He joined Chemical Bank, NYC, as Vice President, Director of Sales, later becoming head of the Trust and Estate Administration Unit. Chase Manhattan Bank, NTC (JPMorgan Chase) brought him on board in 1990 as Vice President in Wealth Management Advisory and then in Global Trust and Fiduciary where he was also responsible for Fiduciary Liaison to US Private Banking ad Affiliate Banks until 2001. Leaving the New York City commute behind, he joined Hudson United Bank, which merged with TD Bank, N.A., in Westport, CT as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of the Wealth Management Group, responsible for administration, investment, and business development for fiduciary services in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. NewAlliance Bank (now First Niagara) recruited him in 2008 as Vice President and Relationship Manager responsible for opening their first Wealth Management Office in Fairfield County. He retired in 2010 to do Wealth Management Consulting. Further Education includes attending Heckerling Institute of Estate Planning at the University of Miami Law School, Corporate Finance and Capital Markets Innovation, and Corporate Trust School (Cannon Financial) at Boston University as well as advanced domestic and international tax and estate planning courses. He has administered estates throughout the US and abroad, particularly in France. His credentials include CTFA (Certified Trust and Financial Advisor), AEP (Accredited Estate Planner), TEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), and CCTS (Certified Corporate Trust specialist). Professional affiliations include the Estate Planning Council of New York City (Board of Directors, 1988-1991, 1997-2000, Secretary, Treasurer, and VP, 2001-2004, President 2004-2005); the Estate Planning Council of Westchester County, New York (President, 1987-1988); the Estate Planning Council of Rockland County, New York (President, 1984-1985); the Estate Planning Council of Lower Fairfield County; Connecticut Tax and Estate Planning Council; and STEP, (International) Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners. He was also a member of the ABA (American Bankers Association) serving on the ABA Conference Planning Committee, 2000-2001. He was an Instructor for the New York Institute of Finance teaching their International Estate Planning course in New York and Florida. He served on the Editorial Advisory Board of Trusts and Estates Magazine and has authored several articles for trust and estate journals as well as having done a television interview. He has also been a lecturer for Bank Marketing Association Conferences. He was a member of the Planned Giving Committees for both the University of Pittsburgh and the Arthritis Foundation of the New York. A member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, he was honored by the National Fraternity in 2006 by being in the first group of Phi Tai's to be inducted into their newly created Leadership Hall of Fame, along with Paul Newman, Astronaut Dr. Leroy Chiao and business CEO's among others. His accomplishments are recorded in Who's Who In Finance and Industry, Who's Who In America and Who's Who in the World. He is predeceased by his sister, Laura Jane Donaldson, for whom he was the bone marrow donor when she was the seventh person selected for the experimental Bone Marrow Transplant Program at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA in the 70s. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Wilma Crankshaw Donaldson of Fairfield, CT; two brothers, John Clement Donaldson and sister-in-law, Carol Clokey Donaldson of Charlotte, NC and Robert McIlvane Donaldson and sister-in-law, Jodi Hitzke Donaldson of Moscow, ID. In addition, he is survived by two nephews, Edward Samuel Donaldson and his wife, Bethany Cathey Donaldson of Charlotte, NC and Aaron James Donaldson of Moscow, ID; a niece, Storey Linn Donaldson of Moscow, ID; two grandnephews, Stephen Edward and Luke James Donaldson; a grandniece, Catherine Scarlett Donaldson, all of Charlotte, NC; and a cousin, Thomas Edward Neill, his wife, Jane Meis Neill, and their son, David Thomas Neill of Waukeshaw, WI. Friends will be received Friday in the PIATT AND BARNHILL FUNERAL HOME, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013. MARTIN REGIS R. 88, of Ambridge, died on Sunday, July 21, 2013. Born May 24, 1925 in Ambridge, he was the son of the late Joseph Martin and Irma Chinchilla Martin. Regis was a 1943 graduate of St. Veronica High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, then attended Duquesne University, graduating in 1951. He was employed at J&L Steel in the Safety Department, retiring in 1983. Regis was a devoted parishioner of Good Samaritan Parish, Ambridge, originating from Christ the King Parish serving on Pastoral Council and the Liturgy Committee. However, his most noteworthy contribution to his faith and parishes was his gift of music. Regis served as Choir Director, Assistant Choir Director and Cantor at both parishes for over 60 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew, Steve, Lawrence, William, Frank, Joseph and sisters, Olga Madden and Dorothy Pecchi; nieces and nephews, Dolores Shepard, Karen Zwalski, Marty Madden, and Bobby, Donald, Steve and Dickey Martin; and his lifelong friends, Vince Sacco and Frank Pane. He is survived by nephews, Ronald Martin, Sis Navalance, Sis Trotta, Patsy Sigafoose, Irma Vendetti, Helen Laliberty , Frankie Hodges, Patrick Martin, Tom and Gerald Martin, Judy Nicastro, Jerome, Donald and Dennis Pecchi; and numerous great -nieces and nephews, and dear friend, Theresa Sacco. SCOTTI LOUIS NEIL, MD 80, of St. Simons Island, GA, passed away on July 22, 2013 with his loving family by his side, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Clara and Louis Scotti, he graduated from St. Peter's University and New York Medical College. He proudly raised his family in Pittsburgh, PA. For five years, he was Assistant Professor of Neuroradiology at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and later became Director of the MRI Unit at St. Francis Medical Center. He retired to St. Simons Island, GA with Regina, his loving wife of 55 years. Over the last 20 years, Lou was captivated by the beauty of St. Simons, inspiring him as a painter and poet. He was an avid golfer and over the years became a seasoned piano player. Lou delighted in entertaining those around him with his brilliant joke telling and lifelong love of dancing. Lou will be remembered as a genuinely giving man, as he always shared what he had with those less fortunate. His love of both his family and Heavenly Father were first and foremost in his life. He is survived by his wife, Regina; five children, Elizabeth (Tim) Babbert, Janine (Brian) Schuliger, David (Kristen Neuharth) Scotti, Joanne (Dan) Greer, Christopher (Michelle Boyden) Scotti; 15 grandchildren; and sister, Rose Modica. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dominic Scotti; and sister, Marie Rapuano. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. William Catholic Church, St. Simons Island, GA.
