ELLEN L. BEDNAR Age 80, of McDonald, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Ellen was born May 7, 1940 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Joseph J. and Ella Kassau Bednar. Miss Bednar was a graduate of McDonald High School, Class of 1958 and earned her bachelor's degree from Geneva College, Class of 1962. Ellen later received her master's degree in Education from Westminster College. She was a teacher for the Quaker Valley School District for 30 years. Ellen was an accomplished pianist and artist. She enjoyed the hunt for collectibles at yard sales, flea markets and antique shows. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Ellen was also a lover of all animals especially her dear feline friends, Walter and Sherman. She is survived by many cousins. At Ellen's request all services will be private. IRENE M. HORDUBAY Age 90, of Penn Hills, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020. Beloved wife of the late William T. Hordubay. Loving mother of Patricia (William) Lemme, Anne (Bill) Meyers, Thomas (Janet) Hordubay, Eileen (David) Devett, Bill (Kathy Neace) Hordubay, Joseph (Diane) Hordubay, Laura (David) Sill. Grandmother of 21, and great-grandmother of 23. Sister of Anne (Nelson) Clark, Sister Mary Ann Fedor OP, Kathy (Wayne) Wise, and the late Michael Fedor and Mary Miller. Irene was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Verona. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and playing scrabble. Friends and relatives are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 7, 2020, 12 Noon Holy Family Parish (St. Joseph) Verona. If unable to attend the mass, a memorial mass will be held at a later date. CHARLES DEMME On Thursday, November 5, 2020, age 84, of New Kensington, formerly of Sharpsburg. Loving companion of Ken Hegedus. Survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents, John and Concetta Demme, and his three sisters and two brothers. Chuck was a loveable and funny man. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. KARL J. KOVACS Age 76, of McKees Rocks, passed away November 5, 2020 peacefully at his home in Stowe Township. Loving husband of Diana Tkacik Kovacs; loving father of Karl D. Kovacs; and grandfather of Karlee Kovacs; brother of Jack (Marlene) Kovacs; also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and his cousin; son of the late Karl R. Kovacs and Margaret Barnes Kovacs. Karl went to McKees Rocks High and graduated in 1962. Mr. Kovacs was born February 10, 1944, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. Karl worked many years at U.S. Steel Wheel and Axle Division, now known as Trinity Industry, as a machine operator in McKees Rocks. Karl enjoyed watching baseball and playing golf and going to the racetrack in his free-time. Family will receive friends 4-8 PM SUNDAY at the McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1225 Chartiers Avenue, McKees Rocks, where a Blessing Services will be held that evening. CHARLES JOHN FEDORAK "CHUCK" "CHOOCH" Age 64, of Pittsburgh, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020. He was the loving father of John Fedorak, Jodi (Robert) Mattison, Renee (James) Fisher and Robin (Michael) Carpenter. Proud grandfather of Noah Fisher, Annika and Aiyla Mattison, and Nathan Carpenter. Son of the late Charles and Irene Fedorak. He was the loving brother of William (Beverly) Fedorak, Suzie (Bill) Shiner and Lynne (Steve) Christy. He is also survived by his lifetime friend, Sharon Fedorak as well as a host of nieces, nephews extended family, cherished friends and neighbors. Chuck was a lifetime member of the Boilermakers Union 154, where he retired from in 2011. Chuck had a passion for music and enjoyed playing guitar, singing and writing songs. ROBERT J. GRAHAM, JR. On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Robert J. Graham, Jr., of Pittsburgh, peacefully passed away at the age of 85 in his home surrounded by family. Beloved husband of 52 years to Anna Marie (Namisnak) Graham; loving father of Joanna Frances (Edward J.) Konieczka and Monica Margaret Graham; cherished grandfather of Nathaniel Robert and Zachary Edward Konieczka; brother of Mary (Paul) Waronsky; also, uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by several siblings. Robert was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, a member of the Marine Corps League, Three Rivers Leatherneck Detachment 310, former chaplain of the West View VFW Post 2754 and the Observatory American Legion Post 81, longtime member of the Allegheny Elks Lodge, B.P.O.E. 339, Cedar Avenue. Beloved wife of 67 years to John Filipiak; loving mother of Susan (Anthony) Plassio, Sandra (Dallas) Jensen, Sally (Charles) Kremer, John, James (Juliana), and Joseph (Donna) Filipiak; proud grandma of Dante (Emily), Amy (Gregory), Jonathon, Stephanie, Sharon (William), Charles (Alison), Kevin, and Steven (Kristen); and 14 great-grandchildren; dear sister of Charles (Dolores) Lienemann and the late Lois Boyle; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. NANCY GROGAN BUCHLMAYER At the age of 86, on Wednesday, November 4th, 2020, Nancy Grogan Buchlmayer, of Ross Township, left this world and entered into the Kingdom of God; beloved mother of Janet (Jim) Uhler, Jay R. Buchlmayer, Kathy (Roy) Clark, Darryl (Lisa) Buchlmayer, and the late Gary R. Buchlmayer; sister of Thomas (Eileen) Grogan and the late Lillian Grogan, Lois Brennfleck, William Grogan, Paul Grogan, Regis Grogan, James Grogan and Grace Devine; dear grandmother of Jennifer and James Uhler, Shannon (John) Preston, Sean Clark, Shane, Troy, and Jenna Buchlmayer, and Jessica, Kayla, and Bradley Buchlmayer; also survived by ten great-grandchildren, Sophia, Reid, Parker, Kiera, Chloe, Coby, Destiny, Makayla, Madison and Caden. Also known as Grandma Chocolate, Nancy added an extra sweetness to the lives she touched. Nancy loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed Volleyball, Card Club, Bowling, Senior Bus Trips, and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates Fan. Nancy retired from Mellon Bank and afterwards continued to serve by Volunteering. PAUL F. GIANNETTA Paul F. Giannetta, age 81, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2020, at the Residence at Weinberg Village. Paul was born on February 1, 1939, to the late Luke and Concetta (Ruffa) Giannetta, Sr. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine Giannetta. Paul was an avid golfer and enjoyed trips to the casino with his wife, Elaine, who was the love of his life. He was a dedicated father to his only child, James (Paulie), and he loved spending time with family and friends, especially Christmas with all of the baking and packing of Christmas cookies. In the last few years, the highlight of his life was the daily calls and special visits with his son. He is survived by his loving son, James Paul Giannetta; brother, Tony Giannetta; devoted nieces, Karen Nickel and Kelly Ward, and several other nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Barbara Giannetta and brother-in-law, Edward Barrett. Paul was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Giannetta and Luke Giannetta, Jr., and sister-in-law, Michelle Ledbetter.
