BETH ANNE BOCK 4/22/70 - 8/15...

BETH ANNE BOCK 4/22/70 - 8/15/20 Beth Anne was born on the original Earth Day, April 22, 1970, making her a very earthy soul with natural beauty inside and out, having a very spiritual essence and a heart full of love so strong, it would practically knock you out. As a young girl, Beth was a bit of a tomboy - a toughie on the outside, but a sweet, sensitive and overly caring daughter, grand-daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend, girlfriend and wife. She was a gymnast, a great lover of music and dancing, snuggling up and watching movies. There was nothing phony about Beth. She spoke her mind. Soft, sensual and natural most of the time - yet a feisty fighter when the situation called for it. Above all of life activities, Beth's idea of Heaven on Earth was the beach - the sun, the sky, the sea and the sand. Her uniform was the bikini, with a tank top and short shorts for a cover. Hawaii, Cancun, Key West, The Bahamas - all favorite destinations until her sister Brandy took her to St. Barth's and she was head over heels - although she rarely wore heels, she wore tennis shoes - hundreds and hundreds of pairs of tennis shoes. A lover of all animals, besides her dogs, Boz and Boots, she was very partial to dolphins and would have become a dolphin trainer if it weren't for her wanting to be near her family at all times. For Beth, family was top priority. Another of her favorites was spending weekends and holidays with her friends and family at her parents home in Bradford Woods, also fondly known as the “B&B Lounge”, where everyone would cook, eat, laugh, enjoy her mother's garden and proceed to dance, and sing karaoke into the wee hours of the night. Of course Beth was the equipment tech and keeper of the beloved karaoke music library. She was very good at math, therefore, as new technology started popping up, Beth was the family's computer and iPhone Guru. “Beth, the cable tv's not working”. “Beth, this microphone isn't working.” “Beth, I can't figure out how to get this darn app off my phone!” “Beth, how can I do this with a gif file?” While Beth had various positions such as working in marketing at TCI Cable Company and managing a sports bar and restaurant in Kentucky, what she excelled in was being a healthcare giver and patient advocate. So tender and caring, there was never a missed medication, never a bandage overdue to be changed, and never a germ anywhere on the premises. She was a true perfectionist when it came to that. Words cannot ever express the grief and the sorry we all feel at losing our dear, sweet Beth Anne at such a young age. Our tears will continue to flow until we meet with her again. Our insides will still churn with sadness. And it will be much harder for dear Matthew, for he was her True Love and Soulmate and visa versa. Only the thoughts that she is with Our Heavenly Father and Savior Lord Jesus, and is currently hugging and kissing all of those loved ones who traveled before her to the Many Mansions is of any comfort for us now. Beth Anne is survived by her husband, Matthew Chavlick; her siblings, Bonnie Jean Bock, Bruce E. (Janine) Bock and Brandy (Jeffery) Bock-Tott. She was the loving pet mother to her furry children, Boots and the late Boz. Open visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22nd from 2-4 and 6-7:30 p.m. at SCHELLHAAS & SONS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1600 Stone Mansion Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143 (Franklin Park/Wexford), where a blessing service will be held following visitation at 7:30 p.m. Those in attendance should be prepared to follow all COVID-19 health guidelines including the wearing of a face mask. Flowers are welcome or a donation in Beth's name to The Nature Conservancy Inc., 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203. MELANIE APRIL (ROSEBUD) LOPRESTI September 6, 1972 - August 2, 2020 We remember that Melanie could light up a room with her bright smile, flashy blue eyes, flowing golden hair and that bubbly personality. Melanie was born in Pittsburgh and remained in the Pittsburgh Area for most of her life, earning a degree in Professional Studies at Point Park University. Despite insurmountable odds, Melanie remained grounded in her unwavering faith in our God. She shared the Word of God and songs of praise with whomever would listen. Now Melanie April is probably smiling as she dances in her glorified state and in her special spin-out dress with the bells on the hem that Nana made just for her Rosebud. When Melanie lays down to rest, we can be sure that both she and her kitty-cat companion, Trooper, who passed before her and waited for her to come home like he did so many times before, will be cradled in the arms of Jesus Christ of Lord. Melanie survived and is survived by many family members and friends and will be missed. Melanie April LoPresti, Child of God, Sister of Christ. THE RYAN M. ELAINE BELLE KRASIK ON TUESDAY...

ELAINE BELLE KRASIK On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, after a brave and valiant fight against significant medical challenges. Elaine loved life, and life loved her back. At the same time, she strongly believed that life could only be lived the "right" way with a commitment to integrity, honesty and fairness to all. She was always interested in learning new things and expanding her world. Her enthusiasm and commitment to organizations and causes always guaranteed that whatever she undertook would be completed successfully and on time. Once committed, she devoted all her energies to whatever the cause. Her leadership was an inspiration to others. Elaine had a lifelong commitment to Judaism, both its religious practices and its charitable activities. She loved attending religious services and did not permit her less than stellar singing voice to impede her participation. Her family and friends were a central part of her life. Nothing was more important. To her, loyalty was a paramount virtue, and she showed that loyalty to family members and friends in countless situations. She also valued tradition, and she saw one of her major goals in life as conveying traditions and the reasons for those traditions to younger generations. Elaine is survived by Carl, her husband of 54 years; her sons, Curt (and his girlfriend, Stefanie Lacy) and Scott (and his wife, Laurie); Joelle Keats, mother of Elaine's grandchildren, Connor, Carly and Michaela; her grandchildren, Cooper and Skylar; her brother, Norman (and his wife, Sylvia); and nieces and cousins to whom she was devoted. Elaine graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, received a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Yale and in the late 1960's taught French to middle school students in Lexington, Massachusetts. ln the 1970's and early 1980's, she was a full-time volunteer and devoted countless hours to many Jewish and non-secterian organizations in the Pittsburgh area. ln 1984, she entered law school at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 1987. For five years, she worked for the law firm that is now K&L Gates LLP doing primarily corporate and transactional work. ln 1992, she joined the law department at Highmark and worked there until her retirement in 2011. ln retirement, she did more volunteer work and was particularly proud of her work enabling hospital patients to vote in the 2018 election. Elaine received a number of awards for her volunteer work, most recently the Natalie Novick Woman of Philanthropy Award. Graveside services and shiva are private in recognition of the pandemic. A year from now, a public memorial service will be held to give her family and friends the opportunity to celebrate her remarkable life, her always optimistic spirit and her seemingly endless energy reserves. The family suggests that contributions to honor Elaine's memory be made to the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, 2000 Technology Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15219; National Council of Jewish Women, 1620 Murray Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217; or Congregation Beth Shalom, 5915 Beacon Street, Pittsburgh, PA 152I7.
