ROCCO L. MELL It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Rocco L. Mell. Rocco passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on February 27, 2020, at the age of 96. Rocco was born on February 11, 1924 in McKees Rocks, PA to Ferdinando and Rose Mell. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Huntz) Mell. He is survived by his children, Melanie (Timothy D.) Hinton, Rocco (DiAnne), Robert (Pam Schmidt and her daughter Jessica), Richard, Rodney (Sharon); and grandfather of Zachary, Ashley and Matthew Mell. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Dan LaRocco and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Rosa, Joseph, Antoinette, Nevaldo, Millie and Fred, and many family and friends. Rocco served in WWII in the Army Air Corps and was a VFW Post Commander for Vesle Post 418. He worked as a sales manager at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for over 40 years. Rocco was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was an usher for many years. The Mell and Hinton families would like to thank those that were a part of Rocco Mell's 96 years. The respect and love he was shown throughout his years were immeasurably appreciated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association. DONNA JEAN (BRADLEY) LOVRE Age 65, of Pittsburgh passed away peacefully on February 27, 2020. Born September 20, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Jean Bradley and the eldest of six children. She was the beloved sister of Dennis Bradley of Irwin PA, Karen (Ray) Michel of Irwin PA, David (Shelly) Bradley of Yuba City CA, Patrick (Beth) Bradley of Greensburg PA, and Robert (Melissa) Bradley of Canonsburg PA. Aunt Donna is also survived by the many nieces, nephews and cousins that she showered with attention, affection and love. Donna was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and enjoyed a long career as an accomplished manager in the insurance industry working for several prominent firms. One notable highlight of her career was serving as the sponsor liaison for the first five seasons of Antiques Roadshow on PBS. Donna loved good books, fine dining, travel, and most of all, her devoted family. She was a lifelong Steelers fan and proud Pittsburgher. Donna lived in Apollo Beach, FL for many years and had recently returned home to be close to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be private. Born on August 24, 1941, son of the late Agnes Tkach Bobik and husband of 35 years to the late Martha “Susan” Tkach. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Mt. Lebanon. He is survived by his children, Matt Tkach of Dormont, and Mary Jean Tkach of Durham, NC. CASIMIR W. "CASEY" LOWICKI Age 85, of Allison Park, passed away on Thursday evening, February 27, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 27, 1934, he was the son of the late Casimir and Pearl Slawski Lowicki. Casey owned and operated Casey's Electronics Company for 40 years. He had served as a Sgt. in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a gunner and radar technician. Casey was an accomplished pilot and flight instructor, flying extensively in the U.S. and Canada. Surviving are his wife, of nearly 60 years, Betty Lou Hays Lowicki, who he married on April 23, 1960, and his daughter, Debra Myers of Wexford, a nephew, Milan Dudukovich, a niece, Carol Novak and two half-sisters, Marie Grzanba and Pearl Williams. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Dudukovich. VIRGINIA B. LONDINO Virginia B. Londino, age 95, formerly of Scottdale, PA and Crescent Twp., PA passed away peacefully on February 27, 2020, finally reunited with her one and only love her husband, John, who preceded her in death in 2010. After they met in West View roller skating rink in 1940, they only had eyes for each other and went on to be married for 67 years. Born on October 22, 1924 in Beechview to the late Francis and Amelia (Smola) Moulis, Virginia was the most devoted wife and the best mother anyone could ask for and always referred to her five “perfect children” as her most proud accomplishment. Her five “perfect children” survive her and they are John Londino, Jr. (Mechelle), Canton, GA, Bobby Londino (Laure), Moon Twp., PA, Barbara Katzenberger, Rock Hill, SC, Tony Londino (Chris), Carmel, IN and Marianne Londino, Rock Hill, SC. She is also survived by one grandson; nine granddaughters; and 13 great-grandchildren. Our Mum and Grandma will be forever missed. JOANN B. (TRUSCHEL) MERHAUT Age 81, of Gibsonia, peacefully went home to be with the Lord at home surrounded by family on February 28, 2020. She was born September 21, 1938 to the late Joseph W. and Lillian B. (McKinley) Truschel. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert T. Merhaut. Amazing mother to nine children, Tom (Mary), Theresa (Dave) McTighe, Gemma (Hank) Sauer, Joe (Rhonda), Jim (Debbie), Dan (Erin), John (Amy), Matt (Dawn), and Joann (Brad) Spencer. Loving grandmother to 35 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sister of Thomas Truschel, Karen Connors, Vivienne Messina, Yvonne Butera, Marilyn Rizak, and Carol Doyle. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her adoring husband, Albert T. Merhaut of almost 60 years, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lillian Truschel, her sister, Maureen McGinnis, and her son-in-law, Grant D. Ostendorf. She was a devout Catholic woman who was very passionate about the pro-life movement. She organized the very first pilgrimage to Washington, DC for the first March for Life for the parishioners of St. Catherine of Sweden Church, Wildwood, PA. She was President of People Concerned for the Unborn Child and of the Christian Mothers at St. Catherine's. She loved music and sang in her church choir for years until two months ago when her illness prevented her from doing so. She was very involved in the Cursillo Movement, a longtime volunteer at St. Barnabas in Gibsonia, and one of the founding Parishioners at St. Richard Church. She loved sports and volunteered for many years as President of Football Mothers for Richland High School Football. She loved to dance, exercise, and adored her family more than anything. But the most amazing thing about Joann was her smile that radiated the unwavering love and joy that was in her heart and soul. COLLEEN A. (KAIL) CORTESE "BEANOR" Age 59, of Dormont, formerly of Beechview, on Thursday, February 27, 2020, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Colleen was the family's chief debater, Dormont's Midnight Walker, and like Frankie, she did life her way. Colleen is survived by her children, Michael (Amy), Katie Rose, and her number one son, David Cortese, as well as, ex-husband, Rico Cortese; siblings, Tim (Amy) Kail, Eileen (Angelo) Pateras, and Mike (Tracey) Kail, and the “Matriarch” Aunt Jean (late Thomas) O'Toole. SARAH PALLATTINO Born December 2, 1931, the daughter of the late Nellie and Thomas Murphy, both Irish immigrants to this country. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Pallattino. Sarah and Willie were married for 51 years. Mother of Michael (Denise); Jeff (Sonya), Mark, and the late Mary Ellen and Danny Pallatino; grandmother of Dan, Chelsea, Ellie and Adam Pallatino; sister of the late Mary Green; aunt of Paul Green; mother-in-law of Gina Pallatino. Mom was especially proud of her Irish ancestry. The joy of her life she often said, was raising five children, and frequently spoke later in life of how she wished she could do it all over again with a house full of kids running around. Holidays with family was always her favorite time. Sarah spent many years working at Littles Shoes in Squirrel Hill where she made many lifelong friends. Mom enjoyed being around people and her animals, and appreciated the life she had lived. Even after Alzheimer's took over, Sarah still managed to keep her sense of humor. We will miss her smile and the truly wonderful person she was. Friends received at McCABE BROS., INC.
