ALICE KATHERINE GUILLAUME On February 8, 2020, Alice Katherine Guillaume (nee Peterson), loving wife and mother of six children passed away at the age of 92. Alice was born in Sioux City, IA on September 26, 1927 to the late John and Mary Summers Peterson. She married George J. Guillaume (born September 25, 1922, died June 11, 2011) and had four children in Omaha, NE. After moving to Brentwood, PA in 1960, she had two more children and spent her next 60 years mothering her family from there, and then in Jefferson Hills. Her attention to detail resulted in a lifetime of amazing quilt creations, many of which she shared with family and friends. There was always a new quilt to commemorate the birth of one of her eight grandchildren. Alice was an avid golfer, golfing well into her 80's. While she was never very good, she made many life-long friends on the course. Alice is preceded in death by her husband, George, a son, Joseph, one brother John, and three sisters, Dorothy, Rita, and Louise. She is survived by her six children, George (Barbara) Guillaume, Thomas Guillaume, Elizabeth "Libby" (Ed) Simendinger, Teresa (Jeffrey) Morris and Annette "Nettie" Guillaume ; her grandchildren, Carrie (Dave) Guillaume Baker, Brian (Cori) Guillaume, Kari (Jim) Guillaume Duffy, Clayton (Teresa) Morris, Allison Morris, Grace (Jon) Morris Tebbe, Reva Morris and Tucker Morris; one brother, Dell Peterson; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Alice's life will be held at a date and time to be announced. DOROTHY M. (ANDRISEVIC) CHUTKO Age 95, of the Pittsburgh area, formerly of Chippewa Township, on Thursday, February 6, 2020. Beloved wife of 49 years of the late Joseph R. Chutko; loving mother of Mary Jo (John) Scandolari and Mark (Diana Bucco) Chutko; devoted "Gram" of Michael, Luke and Maria Chutko; sister of Janet (Richard) Kopec; also survived by godchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a graduate of Millvale High School Class of 1941 and was class valedictorian. She was employed at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Millvale then she went on to Shadyside Hospital and graduated as an RN. While working at Shadyside Hospital, she also attended evening classes at the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her BS in nursing education. Then she became a night supervisor at Shadyside Hospital from 1947-48. She worked as a supervisor for the Visiting Nurses Association of Allegheny County for 15 years. After moving to Chippewa Township, she then worked at Hooper Holmes of Pittsburgh where she performed health exams for insurance companies. Dorothy was a very active member of the Ladies Guild of Christ the Divine Teacher Parish in Chippewa where she was President from 1975-76 and was also a member of the Christian Mother's. In addition, she was very active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a recipient with the Fr. Marcus O'Brien Service Award in 2011. Dorothy then relocated back to the Pittsburgh area to be close to her children and family and enjoyed her time at Hampton Fields Village and at Holy Family Manor. MARY LOUISE BLACK Mary Louise "Lou" Black (nee Moore) passed away Friday, February 7th in her home in Wexford, PA. Mary Lou was born May 1, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA to John and Clara Marie Moore (nee Donahoe). She was raised in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, attending St. Bernard's Elementary, and Dormont High School class of 1959. After earning a degree in Fine Arts and Business from Slippery Rock University, Mary Lou enjoyed a career as an executive assistant at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, a division manager for Sears, and a district representative for the Mattel toy company. After raising her family, Mary Lou developed a successful career as a real estate agent, broker and appraiser in the Wexford and Cranberry Township area. Mary Lou had a kind and generous heart, especially when it came to animals, providing a warm and caring home to many strays over the years. Mary Lou's number one love was always her family. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Paul Black; a son Matthew (Tiffany) of Natrona Heights, PA; a daughter Stephanie Hayes (Jon) of Cape Girardeau, MO; and three grandchildren, Caleb, Emma, and Henry. She is also survived by two sisters, Pat Huecker and Karyn Moore; and one brother, Thomas Moore; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary Lou will be remembered by her family and friends as a wonderful person who provided them much love and support throughout the years. She will be deeply missed. She was born in North Braddock, PA, on July 25, 1930, the daughter of the late Anna (Regrut) and Michael Pavlik. She is survived by her three daughters: Dr. Jill Bires, Atlanta; Janet and Bill Boslett, Chicago; and Beth and Stephen Henry, Moon Twp.; Gerri will be missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Jeanne Pavlik; and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her four legged friends, Grace and Ruby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Edward; an infant daughter, Jean Ann; and a brother, Norman. Gerri worked as a teaching assistant for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit assisting special needs children. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Parish. In her retirement years, Gerri enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with family. Passing along her Slovak heritage to future generations, Gerri will be remembered for her expertise in pierogie, babalki and nut roll making. PAMELA JEAN (BENSON) YEAGER Passed away peacefully Sunday, February 9, 2020, with her family by her side. Pam was born on November 1, 1953, in Pittsburgh to Raymond and Dolores Benson (Ball). She was raised in the South Hills of Pittsburgh and graduated from Baldwin-Whitehall High School class of 1972. Pam is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Daniel W. Yeager. Pam had three children and eight grandchildren; sons, Adam (Melissa) Lefcowitz, Josh (Jenn) Lefcowitz; daughter, Tamara Lefcowitz (Steve Mescan); and grandchildren, Alycia, Jeremiah, Ruth, Joscelyn, Judah, Aviella, Meaghan, and Stephen. She is also survived by two sisters and a brother, Judy Eckert (Marty) and Marlene Galiszewski (Jerry) and Scott (Cindy) Benson; as well as many nieces and nephews. Pam was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Benson; and her parents. Pam will be remembered by her family and friends as a fighter who lived life to the fullest. After a liver transplant in 1996 that saved her life, she continued to work and share meaningful time with all those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her trusty sidekick, Peanut aka Nut-Nut. Family will welcome friends at the JOHN F. RAYMOND J. BERGMAN Raymond J. Bergman, age 94, beloved father, grandfather, teacher, and coach passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020. Ray was born on January 19, 1926, in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late William and Rose (Buchert) Bergman. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia (Day) Bergman; brothers Bill, Gerard, and Fr. Charles; and his daughter Marta Turnbull. He is survived by his children, Rick (Elisabeth) Bergman, Bobbe (Bill) Warrick and Betsy (Bruce) Branham. He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary Amurgis; his son-in-law Scott Turnbull; and his 12 loving grandchildren, Ryan and Samantha Bergman, Rachel (Luke) Warrick Sweeney, Jacob and Ben Warrick, Adam, Emily, Alex, and Andrew Branham, and Frank, Sonny, and Jackie Restelli. Ray's 94 years were well-lived. After graduation from North Catholic High School, he joined the army and served during WW II. Upon discharge, he enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh where earned a BA. He began a life-long teaching career at North Catholic where he also coached football. Eventually he earned his Master's degree at Duquesne University and continued to earn credits beyond his master's at Penn State University. Most of his career was spent at Quaker Valley Junior High where he taught English for many years before becoming the principal. He also coached football while there. Ray retired in 1986. In addition to teaching, Ray also was a football official for the Eastern Association of Intercollegiate Football Officials. Upon retirement, Ray and Pat traveled the world. Their trips included Antarctica, Australia, and the ruins of Machu Pichu. They devoted many hours in service to others through volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul and delivering for Meals-on-Wheels. Ray also served as the regional vice president of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. A funeral mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at St. Catherine of Sweden Parish in Wildwood. The family will greet friends prior to the service. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Holy Savior Cemetery in Gibsonia.
