CARLTON N. CORSON, JR. Age 87 of Hendersonville, TN, passed away April 19, 2019 at Gallatin Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Gallatin, TN. Carlton was born on June 26, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Carlton N. Corson, Sr. and the late Marjorie Ann Anderson Corson. Carlton was a lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan, following the Steelers, Pirates and Penn State Nittany Lions closely. He was an active Presbyterian and an alumni of Penn State. Carlton was a veteran of The United States Army, a Freemason, and worked for General Electric for over 35 years. During his younger years, Carlton enjoyed playing golf and skiing. He always made taking care of his family a priority; he was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Luz Corson. He is survived by his children, Brian Corson, Margie Lugibihl and Kathy Fuller; grandchildren, Logan, Olivia, Genevieve, and Samuel Corson; Jordan, Kayla, and Emma Lugibihl; Felicia and Shane Fuller; great-grandchildren, Johnny, Sebastian and Namoi Corson; and brother, Richard (Cecil) Corson. George was a graduate of Penn State University and received his master's from Duquesne University. He retired as chief operational officer for Verland of Sewickley and had been formerly employed by Homes by Sturge, Inc., Dunbar, Latrobe Die Casting Co., Latrobe, and Westinghouse Electric Corp., Pittsburgh. He was passionate for Penn State football and loved playing golf. He was a lifetime member of the Braddock Elks Lodge 883. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dr. Mildred Starzynski. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Bonita Botti Galla; his brother-in-law, Robert (Romayne) Botti; nephew and nieces, Wilton (Sarah) Starzynski, Robert Botti, Jr., Kristina (Corey) Miller, and Louis Botti; and great-nieces, Katherine Starzynski, and Mila, Carlia, and Santana Miller. Although she enjoyed gardening and decorative painting, her true passion was riding her horse with friends through the trails and forests of Western Pennsylvania. She made friends easily and despite health problems, always had a zest for life, family and friends. In addition to her mother, Kathy is survived by her husband, Samuel E. Rachel was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and was a Sergeant in the Army, where she met her husband, during World War II where she met her husband. She graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where she fueled her love of fashion. She and John went on to build a beautiful family after settling down in Pittsburgh. She lived life to the fullest, whether it was traveling to Florida, vacationing to Europe, eating desserts, pulling weeds in her yard, making artichokes, hosting parties with her family and friends, and last but not least, shopping at Macy's. She made friends wherever she went, and always was the life of the party. Even in her 90's, she was still traveling, living on her own, and participating in football pools. LUCY CATHCART Died peacefully on April 30, 2019 surrounded by her children. Lucy was born in Crafton, PA on February 8, 1925 to Robert F. and Gwendolyn G. Riddle. She attended Rosslyn Farms School and Carnegie High School, graduating from Salem Academy in Winston Salem, NC. She attended Wilson College and Carnegie Mellon University. Lucy married Wallace P. Cathcart on June 22, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA. They lived in Chatham Village and for many years, while raising their family, lived in Rosslyn Farms, a suburb of Pittsburgh, where they both grew up. Lucy was a longtime member of the Rosslyn Farms Women's Club. Lucy was a volunteer at several Pittsburgh hospitals during World War II and for many years afterward. She was an avid athlete all of her life, playing tennis, basketball and baseball as a young woman. She began skiing at 45 and it became her favorite sport. She skied until she was nearly 80. Their love of skiing took them to Colorado where they vacationed with extended family for many years. She and Wally later were founding board members of Learning Camps, Inc. in Vail, Colorado, owned and operated by her daughter Ann Cathcart and husband Tom Macht. Lucy loved traveling all over the world and entertaining family and friends at their homes in Indian Lake, PA and Longboat Key, FL in addition to their home in Pittsburgh, PA. She lived most of her life in the Pittsburgh area before moving with her husband to Chambersburg, PA in 2003. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Wallace P. Cathcart and her daughter, Nancy G. Cathcart. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Riddle Ruderfer of Pittsburgh, PA (husband, Emil Ruderfer); daughters, Martha Cathcart of Washington, DC (and children, Samuel and Gwenn Lavine) Ann Cathcart of Gypsum, CO (and husband, Tom Macht and son, Tucker Lewandowski); and son, Robert Cathcart of Granville, OH (and wife, Mary Frazell and sons, Daniel and Griffith Cathcart); and Nancy's family, (Sam Couture, wife, Lindsey, Hunter Couture, wife, Cammie and their father, Michael Couture). He was supported by his loving family and passed away peacefully at Cura Health on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the age of 65. He was born in Pittsburgh on May 8, 1953, one of seven children to the late Thomas B. and Patricia (Miller) Harkins. Companion of Lee Kapfer; cherished step-father of Crystal Pargeon and Chris Pargeon both of Crescent; well-loved brother of Kathleen (Arthur) Waugaman, Linda (Edward) Elk, Donna (Richard) Dunner, Nancy (Bob Boomer) Mutschler, Joseph Harkins and Elizabeth Betsy Harkins; also many nieces and nephews; and last but not least his Golden Retriever, Romeo. McQuade; daughter, Kyle McQuade Shaffer; parents, William and Louise Jenkins; and brother, William Jenkins. She is survived by her sister, Joan Fish; daughter, Kevin McQuade of Mt, Lebanon; granddaughters, Jennifer McGlincy and Sarah Shaffer; grandsons, Jason Shaffer and Garner Helmick; and four great-grandchildren, Kyle Moreira, Tyler Moreira, Pippa McGlincy and Skylar Helmick. Born October 16, 1925 in Chicago, IL, Gene moved to Mt. Lebanon with her family and attended Mt. Lebanon High School. She graduated from The University of Pittsburgh where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and received a degree in Abnormal Psychology with a minor in English. Gene served as a substitute teacher for Pittsburgh Public Schools and taught sewing on the side. Like her husband, Gene was known for her love and knowledge of dogs. A breeder and shower of Cairn Terriers for many years, Gene was active in Western Pennsylvania Kennel Club and The Cairn Terrier Club of America. Gene was also a member of the Hillcrest Garden Club. Her family will fondly recall her gorgeous silver hair, her admiration for antiques, bottled water, Wendy's hamburgers, calling during dinnertime and nagging Grandpaa skill they are sure she'll put to good use in Heaven.
