SCHOLL MILDRED M. AGE 96, ...
SCHOLL MILDRED M. Age 96, our beloved aunt was taken peacefully by Our Lord into His welcoming arms on December 29, 2018. Mildred was born on March 10, 1922 in Pittsburgh. She was the only daughter of the late Joseph Leo Scholl and Margaret Breit. She grew up on Mt. Washington with her six brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Norbert, Albert, Richard, and Edward, all of whom predeceased her. After attending St. Martin School in the West End, Mildred spent her entire career working at Pittsburgh National Bank until she retired in 1987. She had a passion for gardening and yard work. Spring, Summer, and Fall, Aunt Mil was planting ?owers, digging up weeds, mowing the lawn, trimming hedges, raking leaves, and repairing walls. We marveled at her energy and relentless pursuit of keeping her homestead above the Ohio looking spanking new. A devout Catholic, Aunt Mil had a lively faith re?ected in daily prayer, donations to the poor and needy causes, and a fortitude that kept her cheerful in the face of life slipping away. Fittingly, her favorite saint was Saint Anthony, the patron saint of lost causes. Aunt Mil left many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and great-grandnephews and nieces with lifelong memories. Nieces and nephews: Sheila, Mary Jane, Susan, Donna, Richard, Margot, Mark, Nora, Janice, Robert, Joan, and James (deceased). Family and friends will be received at WM. Washington, on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass of Celebration will be held on January 3, 2019 at St. Mary of the Mount Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Martin's Cemetery. www.slaterfuneral.com Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
