GIOVENGO GREGORY V. "G-ROD" Age 58, died on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital. Gregory was born February 3, 1960 in Pittsburgh.. He attended St. Columbkille primary school and graduated from West Allegheny Senior High. Greg's career was working in heavy highway construction, which included building bridges in many locations throughout Pennsylvania. Greg took extreme pride in his work and enjoyed helping others, always working to his full ability. Before Greg retired from local 1058, he fortunately, met his soul mate through one of the job sites in 1999. Gregory and Theresa (Russell) Giovengo were married on November 5, 2010. This relationship was more than a marriage to them - They truly were best friends and shared so much together. Greg was a beloved husband, step-father, son, brother, uncle, and an amazing grandpap. Greg treasured his relationship with his granddaughter, Addie, with whom he shared a very special bond. Gregory is preceded in death by his father, Vincent Giovengo and mother, Eleanor Plotz Giovengo. Greg is survived by his wife, Theresa Giovengo; his three step-children, William Ames (Laura), Tricia Ames, and Corey Ames, who he raised as his very own son; he is also survived by grandchildren, Lily Ames, Addaleigha Ames (his little rat), and Augustus Ames; his three sisters, Debbie Gracey and family, Jonathan, Gina, and Nick Gracey, Lori Grant and family, Mike, Tim, and Sean Grant, Sandy Zelesnik and family, Matthew, Rachel, and Jennifer Zelesnik. BAUMGARTEN RICHARD "DICK" F. Age 92, of Richland Twp., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He was preceded in death by Jeanne Smith Baumgarten, his beloved wife of 56 years and in his final days looked forward to their coming reunion. Born in Bruin, PA, he was the youngest son of the late Fred Anthony and Emma Louise (Helfrick) Baumgarten. Dick was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran. Dick was a Test Engineer with Westinghouse and belonged to the Westinghouse Testers Association. He was a member of the American Legion of Bakerstown and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his children, Gretchen (Joseph) Brafford, Kristine (Art) Broge, Katrina (Roger) Moore, Mark (Melanie) Baumgarten; nine grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; wonderful neighbors and many lifelong friends. He was a truly well-loved man. Jim was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Mrs. Bordogna was past employed at Bell Telephone and Westinghouse Electric Corp. in East Pittsburgh. Her greatest passion was raising her family. She was a member of the Junior Achievement Business Organization, was a semi-finalist in the Junior Miss America Contest, a community volunteer and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Mrs. Bordogna enjoyed cooking, music (especially holiday music) and a good cup of Maxwell House coffee. Mrs. Bordogna married Carmen Joseph Bordogna on April 11, 1969 in East Pittsburgh, PA. Surviving with her husband are daughters, Nicole Sullivan (Scott) and Gina Sharp (Dan); sons, Jon-Paul Bordogna (Jessica) and Anthony Bordogna (Ashley); grandchildren, Brooke and Victoria Sullivan and Mia and Reagan Bordogna; sister, Lois Regrut; and brother, Michael Mudry (Dorothy). SANDHU BHUPINDER SINGH Age 84, of San Marcos, California and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away on September 28, 2018. Bhupinder was born in Gujranwala, India on March 2, 1934. He graduated from Dyal Singh College, Karnal, India with an education degree. He went on to teach as a headmaster in Jalmana, India. He immigrated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1968, where he earned his Master's Degree in special education from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a dedicated educator and taught special education for 32 years in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Bhupinder was a giving soul that helped many families pursue the "American Dream." He had a jovial personality despite his many health conditions. He was fond of listening to music, playing chess, and watching the Steelers! He was persistent and unyielding in his effort to win the lottery jackpot, the trifecta at the horse track and the slots at the casino. People were naturally drawn to his warm and welcoming nature. He retired in 2000 and spent his later years in San Marcos, California. Bhupinder was married to Narinder Kaur Sandhu on June 30, 1964, and they were married for 54 years. Bhupinder is survived by his loving wife; and three children, Mahesh, Pinky and Dolly; ke was further blessed with five grandchildren, Hannah, Brendan, Kaden, Charlie and Addison. Because Bhupinder committed his life to teaching, he understood the power of education. His wish is to educate a gifted student, who cannot afford an education, from his village of Peont, India. Son of the late Edward Sr. and Joanie (Connelly) Costelnik; beloved husband of Lori Gamble; father of Jason; stepfather of Thomas Cush Jr.; brother of Joseph Costelnik and Laurie Dutzman; grandfather of Jace Cush; son-in-law of Bette Gamble; brother-in-law of Scott (Carrie) Gamble and Lynnea (Rick) Daley; uncle of Kylie, Ricky, Jake and Scotty; also survived by his furry friend, Roe. Edward was a former employee of Thermal Transfer in Duquesne.
