CERCONE DAVID B. Age 57, unexpectedly, of Pine Township. Preceded in death by his beloved Mother and Father, Amelia “Millie” Cercone and the Honorable William F. Cercone. Survived by his sister, Michelle Cercone; brothers, Paul F. Biedrzycki and John A. Biedrzycki, Jr.; his beloved partner, Kimberly Montgomery, nieces, Amy Raby (Biedrzycki) and Alyssa Martin (Biedrzycki); as well as his nephew, John A. Biedrzycki, Esq. David was an attorney for the past 31 years and headed the Pittsburgh law firm of Cercone, Erlain and Associates, where he will be deeply missed by his legal assistants, Kathi Cahill, Christine Hilliard and his law partner, Anthony J. Erlain. He was a graduate of Penn State and the Duquesne University School of Law. David was a mentor to many young attorneys and was proud of that fact, but kept it quietly to himself. He sincerely loved working, and sharing his warm personality with court staff, judges and other attorneys. While David has left this earth far before his time, he lived with an adventurous passion for life that would have filled dozens of normal lifetimes. He was an avid sportsman, who traveled the world hunting and fishing while competitively skeet and trap shooting at home. David spent many summer days exploring the Great Lakes on his boat, regularly taking family and friends along for the ride with his first mate Kim and first canine Brody. Wherever David was, whether on the lake, in court, or at home cooking fantastic meals for friends and family, he always brought his lighthearted personality, generosity and zest for living life to the fullest. Friends received Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. NIEDERBERGER MARY R. "JEAN" Peacefully in her Dormont home, on Thursday, August 9, 2018, just three days before her 101st birthday. Beloved wife of the late Cyril J. Niederberger; devoted mother of Mary Joyce Niederberger, Margaret (James) Salas, John (Jean) Niederberger, Thomas (Marilyn) Niederberger and the late Jean Daley; loving grandmother of Stephen Salas, David Salas, Matthew Niederberger, Carrie Shick, Leslie, William and Patrick Niederberger; great-grandmother of eight; sister of the late Joseph A. Colgan; also survived by nieces and nephews. Jean spent her entire life in the Pittsburgh area, living in the Greenfield section throughout her childhood. She married Cyril Niederberger of Mount Oliver on February 3, 1940. Eventually the family moved to Dormont in 1954 (which at the time was like moving to Alaska) and Jean resided there the rest of her years. Her life was always full of vitality, whether ice skating in Panther Hollow as a child, going to dances at the Kennywood Park Pavilion as a teenager, meeting the challenges of raising five children, to finding a way to make sure her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren had a smile on their faces. The world changed greatly during her lifetime and she handled it with aplomb. Jean never drove a car but somehow always ended up wherever she needed to go. Jean was not a big traveler but she always spoke fondly of a trip to San Francisco in 1987. One regret was not making it to Ireland. Hopefully all who had the pleasure of knowing her will cherish her memory and celebrate a life well lived. “Thank you for letting me be a part of all your lives.” Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of the Christian Burial which will be celebrated in Saint Bernard Church, Mt. Lebanon, Monday morning at 10. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, family suggests memorials be made to the Verland Foundation.
