Mrs. Costello was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. Her family was her life. On April 22, 1950, she married Harry L. Costello, Jr. who passed away April 25, 2012, after 62 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish her memory are four daughters, Barbra C. (Larry) Sandy of North Strabane Twp., Kathleen M. He retired from AT&T and was a veteran of the US Navy. Richard's whole life was about his love for his family. He was especially proud of his grandson, Liam. On April 18, 1974, he married Michele M. CADMAN JAMES JIM F. February 16, 2018, marked the passing of James F. Cadman to his eternal life with our Lord. James, known among his many friends and family members as Jim, was born on April 23, 1928, in Homestead, PA, elder son of James and Lillian Cadman. Jim remained in the Homestead area throughout his young life, ultimately graduating from Homestead High School and Schwab Vocational School. Jim married Margaret Peggy Pryle on November 5, 1951. Upon his enlistment in the United States Air Force, they began their lives together at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington D.C., where Jim served as an auto mechanic. With his Honorable Discharge some four years later, Jim and Peggy returned to Homestead, PA, where Jim secured employment in the US Steel Homestead Works steel plant. He quickly rose through the ranks, ultimately being promoted to Senior Foreman of the Homestead Works Maintenance Department. In 1976, Jim accepted position as Maintenance Manager for Ohio Barge Lines, a subsidiary of US Steel, then returned to Homestead Works for his final year with US Steel prior to retirement. Among his varied hobbies over the years, Jim most enjoyed Judo, earning his black belt in 1978, the year his first grandchild was born. He also enjoyed, and excelled at, fishing, and, as a younger man, water skiing. As a Founding Father of the Pine Run Boat Club, Jim became a boating enthusiast and taught countless young people how to ski and fish. Following retirement, Jim and Peg remained in Homestead, though they began snow birding at Lake Okeechobee, FL, for several months each winter. They later purchased a cabin at Lake Chautauqua, NY, spending their summers next to their oldest daughter. Cherishing Jim's memory is his daughter, Caren and husband, Dick; his daughter, Jan and husband, Keith; and his brother, Jackie. Jim will also continue to live on through his three grandchildren, Jason, Arnica, and Jamie; and through his seven great-grandchildren, Vera, Bostic, Eloise, Carter, Collin, Taryn, and Cole. A memorial service celebrating his life is scheduled for Sunday, February 18, 2018, beginning at 1 p.m. at GREEN FUNERAL HOME, 3511 Main Street, Munhall, PA. Dave loved spending time with the joys of his life, his daughters and granddaughter, Sienna. As an animal lover especially of dogs, he was fondly thought of as the dog whisperer. CHEKAN GEORGIANNA MARY GEORGIE Age 90, of Collier, formerly of Upper St. Clair, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was born in Aliquippa, PA, on February 13, 1928. Beloved wife of Edward M. Chekan for 57 years; mother of Judith A. Kunkle (Jack), Upper St. Clair; and son, Edward G. Chekan, MD (Lisa), Chapel Hill, NC; grandmother of Elizabeth, Mary Claire and Ava Kunkle and Sarah, Emma and Laura Chekan; sister of Gloria Baker and Gene Balasik. Georgie was a 1943 graduate of Hopewell High School and a 1946 graduate of Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. After graduation, she worked at AGH as a full-time nurse. After a period of time, she left AGH for Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and worked at Holy Cross Hospital. She returned back to the Pittsburgh area and worked for Dr. David Huber at the Carlton House in downtown Pittsburgh. She met Ed Chekan at a Duquesne University dance - and a year later became Ed's bride with a honeymoon in Bermuda. Georgie was a full-time mother, and occasionally accompanied Ed on some of his sales trips in the United States and Canada. She was impressed with a visit to Japan and Hong Kong - with a stopover in Hawaii. Georgie was an early member of St. Gregory Parish and active in many parish fundraising events. She was an excellent cook - to the delight of her family and house guests. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed many family vacations together with them. KIDDER CAPTAIN JOHN LYNDON, USNR (Ret) Captain John Lyndon Kidder, USNR (Ret) died in Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by his family, on February 14, 2018. He was 73. John was born in Dearborn, Michigan, on March 18, 1944. He met his wife, Jeanne Kidder, while attending the University of Maryland. He was an accomplished Naval Flight Officer, serving as a Bombardier Navigator in the A-6 Intruder. He left active duty in 1982, and retired from the Reserve as a Captain in 1995. He led a productive civilian career in business development for the defense industry, as well as consulting, before retiring in 2014. Mr. Kidder's joy was in his family, his hobbies, and Boblo Island, where he spent his summers as a youth with his family, and later as a father with his kids. John Kidder is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his children, Christian, Jaimee, Abby, Benjamin, and Maliek; his mother, Marilyn; two grandchildren, and five siblings. CURRY RICHARD A. DICK Of Brookline, suddenly on Friday, February 16, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Peggy; loving father of Catherine J. (Michael) Siviy and Richard A., Jr. (Rhonda); loving Pap of Justin and Shannon Curry; also many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the FRANK F. He was an avid NASCAR fan and reporter who atteneded 50 consecutive Daytona 500's.
