BLAZINA RICHARD L. “RICK” Of Braddock, age 67, on Sunday, December 10, 2017. Beloved husband of Kathie (Hughes) Blazina for 45 years; loving father of Melissa (Joe) Kaczmarski of Chalfant and Michele Blazina of Braddock; proud grandfather of Jack and Logan Kaczmarski; brother of Ron (Sue) Blazina, Raymond and Randy Blazina; brother-in-law of Jackie and Nick Mroziak; uncle of Greg (Heather) and Kevin (Kimberlee) Blazina, Travis Blazina, Miss Kimberly (John Ryan) King; best friend of Chris Halchak. Rick was a Vietnam War era Army veteran and was a steelworker at US Steel, Homestead Works until it shut down. In 1994, Rick was the first person hired at Grand View Golf Club and he worked on its construction and maintenance until 2015. In his spare time, Rick enjoyed drawing and sketching still-life, portraits and scenery. Friends welcome on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at PATRICK T. GALBREATH Dr. RONALD Beloved husband, father, grandfather, Christian, athlete, educator, coach, mentor, patriot, and friend, Dr. Ronald Galbreath, passed peacefully to his eternal reward on Saturday, December 9, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born August 12, 1940, in Wampum, the son of the late Charles T. and Helen M. Newbold Galbreath. Ron was a longtime professor and basketball coach at Westminster and Geneva Colleges. He was a member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Donnelly Galbreath; and three daughters, Kathy (David) McCommons of Ellwood City, Kim (Dan) Bowman of Greensburg, Meg (Neal) Waldron of Hollidaysburg; two brothers, Tom (Betsy) Galbreath of Austell, GA, Ken (Judy) Galbreath of Alexandria, VA; and eight grandchildren, Haley, Molly, Madylin, Tricia, Sarah, Meredith, Drew, and Kya. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Metheny Field House, Geneva College. BACON SHIRLEY J. (WIELAND) Age 92, of Murrysville, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Howard W. and Edna M. (Pickets) Wieland; and wife of the late Louis Bacon, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn E. Bacon, and Leslie A. Schropp (Fred); granddaughter, Stacey Schropp and great- grandchildren, Jordan and Jenna. Shirley was a 65 year member of Laketon Heights Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and a volunteer of the former friends of Forbes Hospice. She enjoyed her weekly Bridge and Mahjong games. She loved her family and will be dearly missed. Friends will be received Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at the GENE H. CORL, INC. Born October 11, 1945 in Greensburg, he was the son of the late John and Anne (Gostkowski) Lipecky. He is survived by his wife, Susan Lipecky, of McCandless Twp; daughters, Michele (Scott) Cerza, of Half Moon Bay, CA; Christina (Rodney) Robinson, of Warrendale; sons, Jason (Lauren) Browne, of Plum; Kevin (Nicole) Browne, of Glendale, CA; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and brother, Garret (Marilyn) Lipecky, of Latrobe. WASEL JOHN J. Age 94, formerly of Robinson Twp., passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Marian Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Pittsburgh on Sept. 22, 1923, to the late Pearl Jacekas and John Wasel. He was a retired Prudential Insurance Agent, retiring in 1988 with 25 years of Service. John is survived by a son, David J. Wasel; a daughter-in- law, Elizabeth (Sousa) Wasel; a former daughter-in-law, Nancy (Pritchard) Baker; a sister, Ada Malabasian; four grandchildren, Bethany (John) Thornton, Christopher (Nicole) Wasel, Margaret “Maggie” (William) Epley and Emily Wasel; seven great- grandchildren, Stella, Aiden, Henry, Finn Thornton, Noah and Clara Wasel and William Epley. Along with his parents, John was predeceased by a son, Thomas Wasel; a sister, Irene; and a brother, William Wasel. MYERS BARBARA "BOBBY" WOLFSON On Sunday, December 10, 2017. Wife of the late Lee Myers; mother of Hattie Myers (David Neuwirth) and Rachel Myers (Peter Mueller); grandmother of Eva and Henry Neuwirth and Sophie Mueller; loving aunt to David (Nancy) Myers and Barry Myers (Robin Gross). Bobby dedicated her life to helping others. She worked as a physical therapist at Kane Hospital. She was an active member of Temple Emanuel of the South Hills. She loved art, music and theater and supported many arts organizations in Pittsburgh. For the last years of her life, she was a resident at Sunrise of Upper St. Clair where she found a community and had many loving friends. For those that knew her well, Bobby's intelligence and sense of humor will be sorely missed. BAUER ROSEMARY Rosemary, age 90, of Scott Twp., formerly of Mt. Washington, passed away on December 10, 2017. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Rosemary was the only daughter of the late Joseph and Christina Schmitt. She spent her childhood summers swimming and diving at "The Fort" and loved going to dances, which is where she met her beloved husband, the late John Andrew Bauer. Rosemary and John were wed on September 27, 1947, and enjoyed 63 years of marriage before John's death on March 3, 2011. Her greatest joy in life was to be with family and friends and she would often say "the more the merrier" when a gathering was planned. She enjoyed cooking and you could never visit without taking home a care package, the contents of which might vary depending on how much she liked you. She loved playing cards, pinochle and rummikub. She made friends everywhere she went, even when she once accidentally crashed a wedding. She taught us valuable life lessons like always remove your sunglasses when entering a tunnel, you can never use too much butter, and never leave an unused napkin behind. But the most valuable lesson of all is the love and importance of family. Together Rosemary and John built an amazing family who will dearly miss their matriarch but are comforted knowing they are reunited. She is survived by their five children, John (Dr. Linda Krisik), Joseph (Cecelia), Jeanine (Jack) Costello, Jan (Frank) Markert, James (Maureen). She was also blessed with 11 grandchildren, Robert (Barb), Joanna (Jim), James (Rachel), John (Lauren), Patrick, Megan (Nicholas), Joshua (Miranda), Jordan, Cate, Jake and Jessica. The blessings of family continued with 19 great-grandchildren, Robert, Nathan, Isaac, Jimmy, Michael, Jacob, Landon, Eloise Rose, Caden, Keira, Zechariah, Jack, Aubrey, Ava Leigh Rose, Connor, Caius, Maura, Calleigh, and Kelsi Rose; and one great-great-grandchild, Amila. Rosemary is also survived by her brother, Earl "Mux" (Shirl) Schmitt; many nieces and nephews, and honorary "grandchildren". She was predeceased by her four brothers, Joseph, Jr., Leo, William and Edward. In celebration of her life, please say a prayer to the Blessed Mother and eat dessert before dinner. ROSS JOHN F. Age 86, of Peters Township, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2017. Raised as a hard working self-starting boy from McKeesport by the late John H. and Dorothy (Woll) Ross, Jack began his professional career climbing poles for the Bell Telephone Co. of PA where, 65 years ago, he met his late wife, Evelyn of Bethel Park. As the first of four sons, he is survived by brothers, Norman and David of McKeesport, and Donald of North Huntingdon; sons, John (Tori) of North Strabane and Keith (Patty) of Peters Township; grandsons, Pat (Allie), Alex (Becky), Peter (Julie) and Jonathan; and great-grandchildren, Briana, Kevin, Samuel, Sidonie and Ava. After a 40 year career advancing through the ranks of the telephone company, Jack “retired” to start a new chapter of his life in real estate. Dad was the “Rock” of the family; always had a well thought out plan for everything in life. Jack and Evelyn enjoyed socializing with friends, travel, and especially the annual family beach vacation. "Pap pap" also enjoyed watching all the grandchildren at their sports and school activities. A good friend, a great Dad and a special husband, will be missed by all. Jean was a graduate of Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing, employed as a Public Health Nurse by Allegheny County Health Department for many years. She was a long time member of St. Kieran Church and later St. Raphael Church. Wife of the late James Culhane of Homewood; daughter of the late John and Delia (Gibson) Pirt of Lawrenceville. Mother of Kathleen (George) Ledger, Dennis Culhane, Jeannie (Doc) Feeney, James (Darlene) Culhane, John Culhane and Margaret (Rich) Brunsell; grandmother of James Culhane Jr., Daniel and Gwen Ledger; also survived by a number of special nieces and nephews. MARFLAK RICHARD ANDREW (NICK) Age 82, of Lincoln Place, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 9, 2017. He was born April 27, 1935, in Imperial, PA, the son of the late Andrew James and Margaret Grohovsky Marflak. He was predeceased by his brother, Francis E. Marflak. Prior to retiring, he was employed by Equitable Gas Co. for over 40 years. Rich was a dedicated employee and was fondly referred to as "Nick" by his co-workers and friends. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army and received an Honorable Discharge. Rich lived in Lincoln Place after getting married and raised his sons there. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his treasured dogs (Skippy, Snoopy, and Molly). He enjoyed reading, history and listening to polka music. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Jordan Marflak. Along with his wife, he is survived by his sons: Rick and Pam Marflak of White Oak, PA and their children, Rebecca, Andrew “AJ”, Juliana and Vicki, and Tom and Kathy Marflak of North Huntingdon, PA and their daughters, Kerri and Tori. He is survived also by his sister, Margie Dotterweich- Stacy and friend, Richard Manson, of Fort Myers, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She started in 1963 and continued for 42 years. She also liked going to the casino. She is survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Richard (Amber) King, of Volant; Sara Elizabeth King, of Slippery Rock and Heather Kelly, of Boyers; great grandchildren, Logan D. and Jesselyn J. King, both of Volant; Lylah M. and Arlette R. Speicher, of Slippery Rock; Ava L. and Charles J. Ruffner, III, of Boyers; niece, Brenda (Ken) Kramer, of Cranberry Township and many more nieces and nephews. CALIGUIRE BARBARA “BARBIE” (MARENO) Age 79, a longtime Ingram resident. Peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 11, 2017. Wife of the late Sarafina “Joe” Caliguire; also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Stuart; and parents, Anthony and Della Marino; beloved mother of Joseph (Kellie), Anthony (Gina), and Dean (Cynthia) Caliguire; grandmother of Shannon Sheeler, Alexandria, A. Sarafino, Luciano, Adelina, and Sarafino Caliguire; great-grandson, Jackson Bernoski; sister of Norma Pyzola and the late Pasquale Marino, Rita Brandy Mateer. Barbie was a devoted mother to her family and all who knew her. From Sunday dinners, tailgating and family gatherings where she was the happiest in the kitchen and feeding others. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and distortion of the English language. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers of the Willows, Pilgrimage Hospice and Dr. Nina Fattigatti. Barbie will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. DOMINICK JOHN J. "CHUCK" Age 93, of Moon Township, formerly of Bloomfield, on Sunday, December 10, 2017. Husband of 65 years, of the late Philomena A. (Falgione) Dominick; loving father of Marie (Ed) Manko, Albert Dominick and Charles (Sharon) Dominick; cherished grandfather of Alana (Jason) Jensen, Melissa Barnes, Maleena Dominick and Carson Dominick; two great- grandchildren; son of the late Albert and Anna Dominick; brother of Joseph Kozenski, the late Felix, Michael and Sophie Kozenski, Estelle and George Dominick; also survived by nieces and nephews. Chuck proudly served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Company F Twentieth Infantry Regiment Sixth Infantry Division during World War II. He loved his time at Sodini's Restaurant, where he worked as a cook. Chuck loved gardening, puzzles and sports. Family and friends received at the WALTER J.
