PARKER DONALD J., SR. Age 76, of Clarksville, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at home, with his family by his side. He was born February 8, 1937 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late William H. and Waltrude McGowan Parker. Mr. Parker was a 1955 graduate of Carrick High School. Don spent most of his career in law enforcement and security; having worked with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Mt. Lebanon Township Police Department, Peters Township Police Department, a PA State Constable for Jefferson Township and for the PA Regional Assistant Manager for Tri-Corps Security. Mr. Parker also spent 10 years traveling with his daughter Julie in support of anti-drug and alcohol campaigns in schools nationwide. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #91 Pittsburgh, the Blue Knights and Patriots Motorcycle Organizations. BRENES GILBERT, MD 78, of Cheswick, PA on July 2, 2013. A dedicated physician for more than 40 years, he served as Medical Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Program at Harmarville Rehabilitation Center from 1976-2005. Beginning in 2006, he moved to UPMC Mercy Institute of Rehabilitation where he continued to treat patients. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Brenes was the recipient of numerous awards, active in clinical research and a contributor to medical journals. He was an active supporter and board member of the HOPE Network, a non-profit organization that promotes community integration of people with physical disabilities and chronic health conditions through sports and recreation programs and services. PASTOR LEO J. Of Scott Township, age 95, passed away peacefully at Country Meadows in Bridgeville on July 2, 2013. Leo was born in 1918 in Carnegie and lived his early life there. He leaves behind his high school sweetheart and beloved wife, Marguerite, just shy of their 70th wedding anniversary; he was a wonderful loving father to Craig (deceased) and Judy. A member of the "greatest generation", Leo was a WWII Army veteran. He managed several A & P grocery stores in the Pittsburgh area for many years, and later directed the Central Supplies Department of the Chartiers Valley School District. Leo's life-long passion was golf. His longevity is attributed to many a morning spent walking the hills of South Park Municipal Golf Course, as well as many winters of golfing in Destin, Florida. Leo will be remembered as a terrific golfer, good neighbor, loving husband, and great Dad. RELLICH HELENE ZURA Age 84, of Bridgeville, on Sunday, June 30th, passed peacefully at her home. Born January 5, 1929, she was the youngest child of Michael and Sophie Zura. She was a graduate of South Fayette Township High School and the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. Her long time career as a beautician spanned many years at the Touch of Class Beauty Salon in Mt. Lebanon and she retired from there. She also volunteered for many years at St. Clair Hospital and was a caregiver to a very close friend. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Helene also enthusiastically followed local sporting events. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the lottery. Helene married Morse Rellich on June 28, 1952, and they resided in Bridgeville until his death in 1996; she was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Peter Zura and Andrew Zura; and sisters Anna Klinger, Rose M. Bessemer, Marie Cole, Lillian Lehman and Sophie Nadeja; she is survived by her sister, Judy Watson; numerous nieces and nephews along with many friends. She will be missed by all, particularly by her niece, Lynn Cherry, who became her primary caregiver in her later years.
