FOLEY RITA MAE Age 79, of Sharpsburg, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014. She was the only child of John J. and Julia Stenson Foley. Upon the death of her mother in 1946, Rita joined the family of her maternal aunt, Helen, and her husband, John Golmictz. She was their daughter for the remainder of their lives. She grew up in Smithton as a sister for her cousins, Betty Ann, Loretta and John. Rita never married nor had children, however, her love of children was evident as she was a loving and caring aunt to her many nieces and nephews. As a native Pittsburgher, Rita was very proud of all things Pittsburgh. Upon graduation from California Community High School, she began working as a waitress for Horne's Tea Room and continued for many years as a waitress for various area restaurants. She then joined Giant Eagle where she worked until retirement. Rita also took great pride in her volunteer work for St. Margaret's Hospital. The family will receive visitors between the hours of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at WORRELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 820 Main St., Sharpsburg. A Catholic Blessing Service will follow at 3 p.m. Private interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, O'Hara Twp., will be conducted at a later date. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
