Church and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1953. Tom served his country in the Navy for two years after which he was employed by the Steamfitters Union for 37 years. He retired in 1998. Tom enjoyed traveling, cruises, watching sports teams and was most likely one of a few men who liked shopping for bargain items in the grocery store. Tom's center of interest was always his faith and his family. He delighted in watching the sporting and academic achievements of his sons, and constantly encouraged them to maintain their faith in God as an ultimate goal in life. He enjoyed interacting with his six grandchildren and proudly exclaimed how “smart and talented” each one was. Tom will be missed by all of the above and many more who knew and admired him. “Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone. Those we love will never be more than a thought apart. SLUSSER DYLAN Age 25, of Butler, passed away on February 24, 2017, in Florence, SC, due to a brain aneurysm. He was on his way to a training facility to practice on their SX track before Saturday's Atlanta SX race. Dylan has raced motocross since he was six years old and competed nationally since 1999 at only seven years old. This became his entire life, as well as our whole family's. He lived his dream to the fullest and traveled all over the U.S. and overseas for the love of racing. He has touched more lives than we could have ever imagined. He was known for his infectious smile, sense of humor and, most of all, his giving nature. He would help anyone, anywhere, at any time, no matter whether it set him back or not. Dylan was a true privateer of the sport. He was the racer/ mechanic/driver, all in one. There is not enough space to include the numerous amounts of sponsors he had, but his main sponsor, other than his parents, was a best bud, Jeff Cernic. Dylan may not have gotten to do what he went to do on the track that day, but he is living his dream in heaven, watching over all of his family and friends. We just wanted to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, two of his best buddies, Jerry #851 and Michael #392/#41. These two took care of Dylan with so much compassion in getting him to the hospital and being there until the end. They will forever have an angel on their shoulders! "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend."- Proverbs 27:17 NLT Rest in peace! You will be so missed, until we meet again. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Lori Slusser; his father, Bernard Slusser; his paternal grandparents, Tom and Lois Slusser; his maternal grandparents, Dennis and Karen Steigerwald; his aunts, Angie Charlton and Jamie Steigerwald; his uncle, Denny "Chris" Steigerwald; his cousins, Roni, Zach, Scott, Cody, Sarina and Brandon. Dylan was preceded in death by his cousin, Douglas Charlton, who passed on January 23, 2016. The family will welcome friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017, at the BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TWP., 856 Evans City Rd., Renfrew, PA 16053, with Kevin Cozadd, of the MXer's for Jesus, officiating. MICKEY PATRICIA A. (WALANCUS) When describing Patricia A. Mickey, people who knew and loved her had many choices: Daughter. Mother. Grandmother. Sister. Friend. Wife. A lover of laughter, Frank Sinatra, and crab legs to those who knew her really well. She was the lady from Gibsonia who got her nails and hair done on Fridays and could always make her best friend, Ray, chuckle with a sarcastic joke. She was Aunt Patty to her nieces and nephews. She was Pat to her colleagues at the real estate agency where she worked for the past 15 years. For those who didn't know her quite as well, she was the kind-hearted woman who took the time to send nice cards in the mail when a neighbor or church member needed to know they were appreciated. She was the lady who loved the casino, looked forward to vacations, and listened through a good long talk before offering advice. Patty peacefully passed away in hospice care in Wexford at Good Samaritan on Monday night February 27, 2017. She was 72. Born November 28, 1944, she was the beloved mother of Leticia Harshman (Michael) who will never forget the sound of her mom humming in the grocery store and the smell of her perfume. She was the doting grandmother of Elijah and Grace who will miss Ma's weekly visits, her pool, and the mints she always kept tucked away in her pockets. She was the big sis who took Terri Mostoller (Paul) and Mari Ratay (Dan) of Gibsonia to the beach and let the girls watch her get ready for dates. She was the caring wife of retired Navy Chief Charles Mickey, with whom she traveled the world and changed her hair color as much as she changed the radio station over the course of 41 years. She was preceded by the death of her mother and father, Mary and Gus Walancus, and also her older brother, Johnny Walancus, whom she missed madly and looked forward to seeing again. Patty's legacy of kindness, grace, and always attentive spirit will endure in the lives of everyone she knew. Memorial contributions may be made in Patty's memory to her home church, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibsonia, 3832 Gibsonia Road, 724-443-8110, where a memorial service will be held Friday, March 3, 2017, 4:00-6:00 p.m. Arrangements by BALL FUNERAL CHAPEL.
