Arleen was the wife of the late Richard Leonard and was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Helen Toperine; and brother, Alfred (Al) Toperine. She is survived by her son, John G. Fadool (Margot); and daughter, Joan M. Duffy (Frank); her two grandsons, John and Jacob Fadool; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Toperine. Arleen thoroughly enjoyed raising her two children. Later in life she enjoyed walks, especially around lakes and streams as well as watching classic movies. A memorial service will be held in the spring in Pittsburgh. BONGIOVANNI CARL A. Carl Anthony Bongiovanni, 59, passed away suddenly the morning of January 26, 2017. He attended Fox Chapel Area High School, where he played football. He continued his education at Denison University in Granville, OH, class of 1979. Upon graduation, he joined the family business, Bon Tool Company, which his father started in 1958 and that his son, John, will continue to run. He will always be remembered for his genuine kindness, generosity, humble nature, and warm heart. He was an active member of the Pittsburgh Field Club where he enjoyed playing golf with his many golf buddies. He was also a member of the Pittsburgh chapter of the YPO/WPO organization and the Duquesne Club. Carl spent many evenings on his front porch sharing words of wisdom with his children, their friends, and his friends. He loved taking walks in the woods with his dog. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was so proud to have become a grandfather in the last few months. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Romualdi); his son, John (wife Katie); his daughters, Dana (husband Brian) Werner and Emily; his grandsons, Colton Bongiovanni and Henry Werner; his parents, Carl and Natalie; his sisters, Michele (husband John) Bender and Paula (husband John) Wight; many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. MANGES DONALD EARL Donald Earl Manges, 87, of Longwood at Oakmont, formerly of Fox Chapel, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Born in Detroit, MI, Don lived in Windber, PA, and Berwind, WV. Beloved husband for 58 years until her death of Dana Fulton Manges and father of David Fulton (Margaret) of Fox Chapel, Edward Scott (Dianne) of Philadelphia, and William Hardy (Hilary) of New Canaan, CT. Grandfather to Alexandra, Scott, Grace, Teddy, Andrew, James and Diana. Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Earl and Kathryn Kline Manges. He is survived by his sister, Lois Gillespie of Wallingford CT. In 1951 Don graduated from Michigan State University and served two years in the United States Army in occupied Germany. He worked on the 7th Army newspaper and later said of the experience I should have paid them. Don worked in advertising in Pittsburgh for 40 years eventually partnering with his friend Al Van Dine as an owner of several firms. After retiring, he founded First Side Partners development consultants and even later worked with International Executive Service Corps in Lithuania, Turkey and Armenia. In 2001 he and Dana sold their house in Fox Chapel with a plan; they wanted to live in Europe for two years before returning to Pittsburgh. The plan worked. After their return they wrote a travel memoir, Leaving Home at 72, about their experiences in Rome, Vienna, Paris and London. Don, like Dana, played the piano; they appeared in Fox Chapel community revues over many years. They were longtime members of the Fox Chapel Racquet Club and were avid tennis players. LANFRANKIE LOUIS CORKY Of Hideaway, TX passed away on January 12, 2017, at the age of 72. Louis was born October 17, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1962 and from Duquesne University in 1967. He was an accomplished athlete as a youth and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers as well as the Texas Rangers. He enjoyed metal detecting and coin collecting but most appreciated being in the company of his family. He is fondly remembered for his consummate storytelling. Louis was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Stella Lanfrankie; and his sister, Rose Marie Fellin. Louis is lovingly remembered by his sons, Gary Lanfrankie and his wife, Melissa, David Lanfrankie and his husband, Jeff DeJong; his daughter, Amy Bordelon and her husband, Jason; his three grandchildren, Alexis Pitts and her husband, Tim, Aaron Maxwell and Payton Lanfrankie; his sisters, Donna Weltz and her husband, Bob, Gail Mooney and her husband, Bill; and his nieces and nephew.
