PERVIER ANN GAVIN (SAMMON) Peacefully, on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Wife of the late Robert Pervier; devoted mother of Catherine Katie Lamb (Tom) of Mt. Lebanon, Blaise C. Gavin of Cambridge, MA, Dr. Martin A. Gavin (Susan) of Milford, CT and Julieanne Gavin (Mary Benaduce) of Fort Worth, TX; loving grandma of Gavin, Conor, Coleman and Sarah Lamb; not to mention granddogs, Henry, Patches and Sasha; cherished sister of Austin Sammon, Jr. (Gloria) of Sunset Beach, NC and Helen Perdreaux (Rene) of Rockville Centre, NY; treasured aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. Ann was born in New York City, the oldest child of Irish immigrant parents Austin J. and Julia (Henry) Sammon of County Mayo, Ireland. She was a 1952 graduate of Cathedral High School in NYC, a school she dearly loved and continued to support. In 1990, Ann graduated from Sacred Heart University. She lived most of her adult life in Connecticut and was very involved in her children's activities, community and charitable organizations. Ann served as president of Altrusa, a women's business and philanthropic organization; was employed by Textron Lycoming where she met her late husband, Bob. Ann cherished her Catholic faith, her family and her Irish heritage. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Stratford, CT where she taught Religious education. Ann was a member of the Irish American Community Center in New Haven and spent many years marching in the St. Patrick's Day Parade with the Mayo Men. When Ann wasn't taking care of others, her passions included Bridge, golfing and reading. She was a member of ACBL and the Singles Intermediate Bridge Clubs in New Haven. Friends will be welcomed at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mt. McCOY MARY AGNES Mary, age 85, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Burgettstown and Midway, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at UPMC Shadyside. She was born July 1, 1931, in Burgettstown, a daughter of the late David and Mary T. Bell McCoy. Mary Agnes was a survivor and a true lady. Her appearance, always one of impeccable style and taste, with each outfit accentuated perfectly with just the right scarf and jewelry, hair always in place. She was a lady with true class. She devoted her life to the care and welfare of others, giving loving care to those in her charge. Mary was a deeply religious woman, generous with both her time and what money she had. She attended Midway School and was an ardent Steelers and Pirates fan. Surviving are a number of cousins, nieces and nephews and her friend, Gail Harper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Halucka and Lena Gregg. STEVENSON JESSICA (ADAMSKI) Age 85, died peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017. Robert Stevenson's beloved wife of 65 years, Jessica was one of three children born to the late Sylvester and Regina Adamski in Natrona, Pennsylvania; her brother, Donald Adamski preceded her in death, and she is survived by her sister, Florence Bogan. Jessica was the loving mother of five children: Donna (the late Rik) Mirth, Robert, Gail (Chris) Zuppo, the late Richard, and William (Marcia). She was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Since the age of five, Jessica knew she wanted to be a nurse. She viewed nursing as a way to comfort and support people in need. After her graduation from Ohio Valley School of Nursing in 1951, Jessica continued to work as a nurse at its hospital until her retirement in 1991. She prayed the Rosary every day, and before failing health restricted her activities, she was active in the Nurses Alumni and enjoyed baking, bingo, and bowling. Her greatest joy was being around her family and friends. Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass at St. Malachy's Roman Catholic Church, 343 Forest Grove Road, Coraopolis, PA, on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., followed by lunch and eulogy in Ann's Room at Olivia's Banquet Facility at 318 Forest Grove Road, Coraopolis. Maxin, Jr., deceased September 2010. Her father, Henry J. Machaj passed away in May 1969 when she was three years old. Cathy was born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania in 1965 and graduated from Moon Sr. High in 1983. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1987 and a Masters in Education Leadership in 2003. She taught at Liberty Park Elementary in West Palm Beach, since its opening in 1990, through December 2016. He left behind his wife of 36 years, the love of his life, Karen (Peppy) and his pet cats, Angelina and Leo, our kind and helping friend, Justin Evans, and many loving friends and neighbors. He was the second son of Alfred and Antoinette Fronzaglio, the brother of Raymond (deceased) and Daniel and a sister, Denise. He has a son, Ronald, to a previous marriage. Ron earned a B.A. degree from California University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. from Duquesne University. He was the Director of Adult Basic Education for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, the Director of Workforce Development Training and Grant Services at California University and the owner of APR Associates, a workforce development and customized job training company. Ron was a talented singer -a member of the Mendelssohn Choir and the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus. Most recently, he organized the ensemble, Martini Jazz. Ron was a remarkable and talented man, with a great sense of humor and a strong desire to live and enjoy life. He was an engaged person with ideas and opinions; he was fun-loving and always looking outward to the world. He never stopped trying. He will be greatly missed by all - and by his wife, Karen, who will love him into the next world. To Ron! FERRANTI EVELYN MARIE (WADE) Went to be with her Lord at the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown, PA, on Monday, January 16, 2017. Born September 19, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri to Hugh and Margaret Wade, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William; and loving husbands, Charles McShane and Joseph A. Ferranti. She is survived by a sister, Ruth Ann Geppi; daughters, Margaret Ann Schmidt, Junean Tranter, Sandra Moore, Dorothy Elsesser; and a son, Joseph A. Ferranti, Jr. Evelyn had ten grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren. Evelyn was very proud of her service during World War II in the shipyards of Neville Island, Pittsburgh for the Dravo Corporation welding on Landing Ships, Tanks (LSTs). Evelyn owned and operated her own beauty salon in Enola, PA for over 30 years. Afterwards, she began working at the Radisson Penn Harris as a banquet server where she met many wonderful people that she still saw as time allowed. Evelyn was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and a Shrine Widow. Evelyn volunteered for many of the organizations she was involved with. Ed is also survived by his devoted caregiver, Stacey Baker and, also, his beloved cat, Jackie. Ed was a retired Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Army with 21 years of service to our country, including service during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his Army career, Ed was employed in the Security Dept. of Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh. After the plant's shutdown, Ed worked with security at St. Margaret Hospital. In retirement, Ed became devoted to his physical fitness by working out on a regular basis. He was devoted to his family, notably as the handyman at their homes.
