BRUZIO VINCENZO Age 83, a Sewickley resident since 1963, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Heritage Valley Beaver. He was born on August 29, 1930 in Falerna, Italy to the late Settimo and Maria (Campisano) Bruzio; beloved husband for 55 years to Giuseppina (Vescio); loving father of Settimo Bruzio (Diane) of Moon Township, Maria Bruzio of Shadyside and Cindy Bruzio of Los Angeles, CA; cherished grandfather of Derek and Bradley; devoted brother to Marianna Bruzio and Matilda Trunzo both of Coraopolis and Frances Perri (Antonio) of Sewickley. A landscaper by trade, he loved working with God's earth making things beautiful with all kinds of foliage. Vincenzo was a member of St. James Church. COLAGRANDE SYLVIA C. (ZYGMUNT) After a wonderful life of 86 years and surrounded by her loving family, Sylvia Colagrande passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2013. Sylvia lived in Forest Hills, Phoenix, AZ, Rockville, MD, and recently in North Huntingdon, but never forgot her roots in her hometown of Braddock. She was the beloved youngest daughter of Frank and Cecilia Zygmunt; beloved wife of the late Carmen Nooch Colagrande; darling mother of Dan (Alice) of North Huntingdon and Robin of Chandler, AZ; cherished grandmother of Rhonda, Carmine, Wendy, Gina, and Dean; precious great-grandmother of Iris, Caleb, Kaydan, Daniela, Mia, Mallory, and Angelo. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Henry Zygmunt, Matilda Lance, Tadzu Zygmunt, and Leona Markie. Sylvia was an accomplished seamstress, a talented musician, an excellent cook and she helped her family with the renovation of the Balkan Hotel in North Huntingdon. She loved to travel, enjoyed cruising, and was able to visit her family in Poland in recent years. Friends welcome on Friday from 2-8 p.m. at PATRICK T. PRYCE NANCY DAVIS, Jr. On Saturday, December 21, 2013, Nancy Davis Pryce, Jr. Nancy lived her life in Ebensburg and Edgewood, Pennsylvania. She completed her Bachelor's degree at Penn State and her Master's at the University of Pittsburgh. She worked as a juvenile probation officer in Pittsburgh until the birth of her son. Along with being a full-time mother, she became an active volunteer in her community, most especially the Edgewood Garden Club, where she served several terms as president. Her greatest joy was her family. She was predeceased by her mother, Nancy Yarnall Davis Pryce; as well as her former husband of 20 years, Larry Rhoades; and is survived by their son, John; her father, John David Pryce; and her sisters, Christine, her twin, and Priscilla. She was beloved by her entire family and will be greatly missed. Friends will be received at JOHN A. LUCAS MARY C. 80, died Monday, December 23, 2013 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Infant of Prague Catholic Church with Rev. Ernest Ruede officiating. Burial will be Monday, at 12:00 p.m. at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Her husband, Arthur Lee Lucas, Sr. preceded her in death as do her parents, Lawrence and Gertrude Fenk; three brothers, Frances Phillip Fenk, Norman James Fenk, and Lawrence J. Fenk II; and two sisters, Eleanor Mae Lewis and Gertrude Merita Forbes. Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Alicia DePastino of Pittsburgh, PA, Margaret Rose Bates of Jacksonville; two sons, Arthur Lee Lucas, Jr. of Jacksonville and Charles Raymond Lucas of Raleigh; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Judith Ann Brogan of Pittsburgh, PA; two brothers, Robert Patrick Fenk and William Allen Fenk both of Pittsburgh, PA. CHMIEL JOSEPH ANTHONY In his 90th year, a longtime resident of Crafton Heights, died Sunday, December 22, 2013. Born June 10, 1923, in Phillips, PA. Husband for 62 years to the late Dorothy (Vroble) Chmiel; beloved father of Bernadine (Jack) Swanzy of Fredericksburg, TX, Charlene (Keith) Pettigrew of Alpharetta, GA, Mary Georgette (late Dave) Kastory of Avalon, Joe Chmiel, Jr. of Pgh., Ann (Joe) Hrabik of N. Fayette, Barbara (Cliff) Smith of Needham, MA, and Dorothy Chmiel of Crafton Heights; dear grandpap of David Paul (Angie) Kastory, Michael John (Geraldine) Swanzy, Beth (Scott) Kelly, Jenny Swanzy, Erica Pettigrew, Stephen Pettigrew, Madeline Hrabik, Allie Hrabik, Emily Smith, Harrison Smith,and the late precious angel, Amanda Kastory; great- grandpa of Luke and Benjamin Kelly; brother of Walter (Dolores) Chmiel and Jean Chmiel; brother-in-law of Mary Katherine Langor; sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Joe was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps., a World War II veteran with the U.S. Army, and served in the 854th Engineers Aviation Battalion. Following his military service, Joe worked as a driver for Capital Transit in Washington, D.C., Greyhound, the Pittsburgh Railways, and Port Authority Transit of Allegheny County, until retiring in 1985. A longtime member of St. Philip Parish and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Joe was awarded the Manifesting the Kingdom Volunteer Award on January 30, 2011. He will be forever remembered by those who loved him. Family and friends received on Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SCHEPNER - McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 165 Noble Ave., Crafton. McGILL JOHN J., Jr. Age 89, of Bethel Park, on Sunday, December 22, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy “Dotti”; loving father of John J., III (Paula), Michael P. Jack started his career in the insurance business where he remained for nearly 40 years. CATON PAUL B. Age 83, of Upper St. Clair, passed away peacefully at Providence Point on Friday, December 20, 2013. Beloved husband for 60 years to Genevieve “Dede” Caton; dear father of Eveanne C. McKean (Tom), Paul Clark Caton (Kathy), and Gregory Bruce Caton (Karen); cherished grandfather of David and Matthew McKean, and Jennifer, Paul, and Elizabeth Caton; great-grandfather of Paul Caton. Paul was born in Kokomo, Indiana, a son to the late Paul and Eva Caton. He graduated from Purdue University and was a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force for four years, serving as a Bombardier Navigation Instructor. After his service was complete, he Joined Pittsburgh National Bank where he retired as a Senior Vice President. He was an Auditor for Upper St. Clair, on the Board for the Blood Bank, and also a member at St. Clair Country Club where he served as Treasurer. Paul loved to golf, garden, travel, snorkel and scuba. A gathering to celebrate Paul's life will be held Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray (724-941-3211).
