COLANTUONO FRANK J. Age 66, of Youngstown, NY, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, oldest son of the late Carl G. and Catherine S. (Doherty) Colantuono. Frank grew up in Pittsburgh, graduated from South Hills Catholic High School and Gannon University, received his MBA from the University of Buffalo and served in the Army National Guard. He was a founder of the new health care group that became Independent Health and served as President and CEO for 20 years. He retired in 2004 but remained active on the board of directors. Frank was a member of the Youngstown Yacht Club and played hockey in the Niagara Falls Senior Alumni Thursday Night League. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling, sailing, and bodybuilding and was a food and wine connoisseur. Frank is survived by a son, James A. Colantuono of North Las Vegas, NV; four brothers, Carl (Robin), Joe, Tom (Laurie), and Michael (Robert Miller) Colantuono; five sisters, Kitty (Tom) Eichenlaub, Lorrie (Ken) Esch, Margaret (Bob) Romary, Teresa (Bill) Sponaugle and Marye (Don) Burton; also many nieces and nephews. THOMPSON RALPH FREDERICK, Jr. Ralph F. Thompson was born in Washington, D.C. on May 19, 1923. Ralph entered Virginia Polytechnic Institute, VPI, in September 1940. He studied mechanical engineering and was a cadet in "R" Battery, ROTC, in the Upper Quad. He was admitted to the Pi Tau Sigma honorary mechanical engineering society and Phi Delta Epsilon honorary journalism society for work on the year book. He transferred to the Navy V-12 program which offered continued education at the University of Virginia at the beginning of World War II. He received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree in October 1944. At the University, he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He then transferred to the Naval Academy midshipman reserve program where he was commissioned as an Ensign in April 1945. Subsequently, he served in the destroyer USS Borie (DD704) and in a fleet class diesel electric submarine. He then attended Harvard Business School, obtaining an MBA in 1948. Ralph worked as a marketing manager for Reynolds Metals Co. in Richmond, VA, and for US Steel Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA. He also worked as Director, Iron and Steel Group at the United States Commerce Department, retiring in 1991. He was an early member of the Fox Chapel Racquet Club. He was active in the Fox Chapel Episcopal Church. From these two institutions and friends, he recruited a group of men to cruise the Chesapeake Bay on Halcyon; they sailed together as the "Fox Chapel Navy" and for 34 years he was honorary Commodore. The group hosted a number of social occasions throughout the year. He was also a member of Rotary. Ralph married Ailsa Armstrong McCouch of Philadelphia in June 1953; she predeceased him on April 1, 2009. He is survived by his children, Douglas of O'Hara Township, Pittsburgh, PA, Jean of Fairfax, VA, Gale of Washington, DC, and Eric of Fairfax, VA. His grandchildren include deCourcy O'Grady of NYC, Morgan O'Grady of Boston, MA and Alexandra Frazier of Washington, D.C. He died in Fairfax, VA on May 10, 2015, at the age of 91. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church, 630 Squaw Run Rd., Fox Chapel. Contributions in his memory may be made to The Chesapeake Bay Foundation. FOGELIN Rev. VICTOR E. The Reverend Victor E. Fogelin, 81, of Presbyterian Senior Care, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Anne Lawson; and his parents. Loving Father of Carol Fogelin Grinder of New Kensington and Amy (Marc) Pastor of Upper Burrell; grandfather of Hannah Lynn Pastor; and step-grandfather of Heather Pastor; brother of Reverend Helen (the late George) Liesenberg of Dearbourne, Michigan; he is also survived by his companion of ten years, Sandy Wahnsiedler of Oakmont; and her daughter, Brooke Kitzmiller of North Canton, Ohio, and her extended family. Rev. Fogelin was born February 26, 1934, in the Bronx, New York and graduated from the City College of New York with a degree in Liberal Arts. He did his graduate work at Western Seminary in Pittsburgh, receiving his Master of Divinity Degree. He was ordained to the Presbyterian Ministry in 1958. After ordination in 1958, Rev. Fogelin served churches in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania for a total of 42 years. He retired in 1999 after the death of his wife and two years later resided at Westminster Senior Care in Oakmont. During his stay at Presbyterian Senior Care, he was active with the Day Care Center using his hand puppets, Spanish, and magic to entertain the children. He also served on the Editorial Staff. He attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church doing some teaching and working with children. William will be missed dearly and will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him. His Faith was unwavering, his personality larger than life. His love of the lord was faithful and undisputed. His Love for the Horse Races was his passion and Hobby. Bill will be forever in our hearts. Bill was born on March 26, 1936, to William and Mary Rubish. Bill was married to Patricia Jane Rubish. They had two beautiful children, Precious Velvet Rubish-Mayes and Robert Rodney Rubish, both of California. STANISHA LOUIS PHILIP "LOU" Age 87, of Ross Township, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Lou was born in Novo Mesto, Slovenia in 1927. He came to America with his parents arriving at Ellis Island, NY via the Ile de France in 1929 at the age of two, graduated Bellevue High ('45), was drafted into the Army in the last draft for WWII in 1946 and graduated from Carnegie Tech with BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering ('50) and Industrial Management ('58). Lou spent his professional life at Swindell Dressler, Dravo Corporation and Chapman Corporation. He was known as an accomplished accordionist and played as a member of the Duquesne University Tamburitzans ('45-'46) and remained very active in the alumni. He also entertained at many weddings and events in his ensemble group, The Balkan Dukes. Lou is survived by his bride of 55 years, Mary Joan (Nara); and their seven children, Rebecca (Scott), Robert (Patricia), Teresa, Charles (Dianna), Jennifer, Joseph (Leah), David (Terri); ten grandchildren; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Anna (Gorshin) Stanisha; brother, Ladislav Stanisha; and granddaughter, Erikka Stanisha. MARTINELLI EUGENE GALILEO GENE Age 96, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. He was born on December 31, 1918, in Ward, West Virginia to the late Antonio Martinelli and the late Pasqua Catarina Rossetti Martinelli. Eugene grew up in Turtle Creek, PA, where he graduated from Turtle Creek High School in 1937. After high school, he attended The Pennsylvania State University before joining the Army in 1941 and serving his country as a lieutenant during World War II. After the war and graduation from Penn State, he worked as a plasterer and as a Real Estate and Insurance Salesman. For many years he owned his own Real Estate Rental Management Company in Swissvale, PA. Eugene was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Italian- American Club, and the Penn Brotherhood Lodge of the Masons. Eugene enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, and attending Penn State football games. He also enjoyed playing cards with his buddies at Churchill Valley Country Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in 2002 by his wife, Catherine Louise Irving Martinelli, after 54 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his brother and five sisters. He is survived by four children, David (Marilyn) Martinelli, Cathie (John Donald) Signor, Donna (Charles) Young, and Craig (Jennifer) Martinelli. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his companion for the last several years, Dolly Bortot. Eugene's family would like to extend a special thank you to Interim Healthcare Hospice of Pittsburgh, especially Denise F., Denise R., Fay and Tom, for the excellent care and compassion given to him during his final days. Eugene will lovingly be remembered by his family and those who knew him as a kind, caring, patriotic and compassionate man who wanted people to always remember to Count Your Blessings and Pray for Peace. In keeping with his humanitarian spirit, Eugene chose to donate his body to science. At a later time, his remains will be interred in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Penn Hills, PA, according to his wishes.
