MARONE DOMINIC A., JR. Age 88, of Turtle Creek, formerly of Swissvale, born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1925, died on Monday, July 29, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Edith (Mareno) Marone, for 47 years, who died in 1991. Survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Louise (Caruccio) (Mochan) Marone; loving father of Dominic A. (Barbara) Marone, III of Bethel Park; proud grandfather of Lauren (Daniel) Lamoureux of Rhode Island and Evan Marone of Bethel Park; great-grandfather of Jagger Daniel Lamoureux; also survived by Louise's children, Lizanne (Donald) Devich of Braddock and Kathy (James) Nellis of Turtle Creek; as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by Louise's son, Paul (late Liz) Mochan. Dominic was a WW II Army veteran and retired Tipstaff of the court System of Allegheny County, serving for Honorable Judge Patrick Tamilia and the late Honorable Judge George Ross. Dominic was a member and long-time treasurer of the Knights of Columbus in Swissvale and was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer for Madonna Del Castello Church. ROTONTO ADELINE “LENA” (PIZZINGRILLI) On Monday, July 29, 2013, Mrs. Adeline “Lena” Rotonto, quietly passed away at Marian Manor. Lena was born on July 10, 1917 and raised in East Carnegie . She has been a member of Saints Simon & Jude Church since it opened its doors in 1955. She retired after 21 years from the Tic Toc Restaurant located in Kaufmann's Department store in downtown Pittsburgh. But her greatest achievement was her family and the pride she took in taking care of them. She is the daughter of the late Emidio and Sperantina (DeLuca) Pizzingrilli. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Hope Rotonto; her brother, Valentino (Andy) Pizzingrilli; her sister and brother-in-law, Vera and Basil (Buz) Funaro; brother-in-law, Daniel Piacquadio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Rita Rotondo; brother-in-law, Vincent Rotonto; brother-in-law, Delo Verrico. Lena is survived by the love of her life, her devoted husband of over 72 years, Frank Rotonto, Sr.; and her beloved children and grandchildren, son, Frank Rotonto, Jr. (Sandy Wade) of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Adele Williams (Wade) of Sevierville, TN; grandson, Anthony Rotonto of Leesburg, VA, and granddaughter, Melissa Rotonto of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by her sister, Ida Piacquadio; sister-in-law, Edith Verrico; three great-granddaughters and one great-great-granddaughter in Seattle, WA; a step-grandson, in Texas; a step-granddaughter in Ohio; two step-great-grandsons in Texas; a step-great-great -grandson in Texas; and many nephews and nieces she dearly loved. Although she will be greatly missed, we take comfort in knowing she is home with our Lord and her family in Heaven. We love you, Ma. GRAHAM DONALD E. 78, of Meadville, formerly of East McKeesport, passed Sunday, July 28, 2013. He was born October 11, 1934 in Wall, a son of the late Charles and Elva (Meijer) Graham. He was disabled Marine veteran of the Korean War, a self-employed truck driver, and then became an ordained Pentecostal minister whose outreach included the elderly and shut in. He had a gentle heart for Christ and the ministry of Christ's love was most important to him. He was also a Steelers fan. He is survived by his wife, Roberta "Judy" (Deere) Graham; a son, John S. Graham, M.D. and his wife Dana of Tucson, AZ; and grandsons, Jack and Maxwell Graham. SKULIS SISTER M. AUGUSTA, OSF A member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God for 70 years, died at the Motherhouse, at the age of 87, on Sunday, July 28, 2013. Born January 7, 1926 in Hamtramck, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignatius and Anna, and her brother, John. She is survived by nieces and a nephew. She was a primary school teacher for 52 years at the schools where the community served, including St. Gabriel for 16 years, St. Valentine and James Lavelle in the Pittsburgh area. When she returned to the Motherhouse, she served in the Franciscan Spirit and Life Center for several years and then as sacristan at the Motherhouse. BARBERIC DAN S. Age 57, of South Fayette Twp., peacefully, with his family and best friends by his side, on July 27, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. On September 9, 1989, he married the love of his life, Diana (Samosky) Barberic. In a fairy-tale romance, they fell in love with each others' voices, while working for the same company in different states. The first time they met, he knew he found the girl he would marry. Dan is the brother of Katherine Frisco, David (Portia) Barberic and Michelle (Dennis) Sauro; son-in-law of Madeline Samosky; brother-in-law of Kathy (Joe) Evanick and Gary (Anne) Samosky; uncle of Bobby (Brenda) Frisco, JoJo and Ashley Evanick, Kelsey (Sean) Hankey, Carrie (Chris) Garritano, Gregory and Taylor Samosky; godfather of Krista Dalton; also many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. A graduate of W.V.U. and a member of the Alumni Assoc., Dan was currently employed at Bayer Corp., where he worked for the past 25 years. A veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Association of Financial Professionals. He loved to travel with his wife and enjoyed cooking, playing poker, entertaining family and friends, and was known as the best mixologist around. He was a well dressed, classy guy, who could fix anything and loved to cheer on his Pittsburgh sports teams and his beloved Mountaineers. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. VALLI LOUIS A. Age 80, of Upper St. Clair, passed peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Montefiore Hospital, surrounded by his family members. He was born in Nemacolin, PA. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, and after graduating with honors from the University in 1954, he joined The United States Steel Corporation. While at the University, he participated in ROTC graduating as the top student in his class. In 1955, he entered the military as a Second Lieutenant at Fort Lee, Virginia achieving top honors in the Quartermaster School. After his military tour of duty, he returned to United States Steel, while continuing to serve in the United States Army Reserves achieving the rank of Major. In 1981, he was appointed Corporate Vice President of USX Corporation, parent company of United States Steel, and in 1989 became Senior Vice President, Human Resources. He retired in 1996. While at USX, he served as a board member of Marathon Oil Corporation, RMI Titanium Company, Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association, and Point Park University. He was a member of The National Alliance For Business and the Personnel Roundtable Associations. His favorite pastimes included golfing, hunting and shooting. Beloved husband of Frances Valli; loving father of Louis E. Valli (Anne Tucker), Lisa Valli Steliotes (Mark), Laureen Valli Tattersall (John), and Lynne Valli White (Rick). In addition to his four children, he is survived by his ten grandchildren, Christina, Diana and Elizabeth Valli (and their mother Susan Valli), John, Ashley and Alyssa Tattersall, Alaina and Nicole Steliotes and Austin and Alexa White; his sister, Lucille Carlson of Mercer, PA; his brother, Robert F. Valli of Philipsburg, PA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis G. Valli and Eleanora Boccini Valli, and siblings, Freda Valli Barnes, Lillian Valli Smith and Aris V. C. Valli. He was a devoted husband and a loving and caring father and grandfather dedicating his life to serving others.
