Beloved wife of the late Bernard Vasko; mother of Larry (Chris) Vasko and Judy (Jim) Hopper; grandmother of Kate Vasko, Tara (Dennis) Hopper-Rice, Dan Vasko and David (Kristen) Hopper; great-grandmother of Emilia and Zachary Rice; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She retired from Bell Atlantic after working there for many years. She loved to play piano and had a love for people and the Lord. MARIBETH WINTERS Age 60, of McKeesport, died on Thursday, July 16, 2020. She was born on April 12, 1960, in McKeesport, to Betty Jane Welch Lickert of McKeesport and the late William Lickert. She is the wife of John C. Winters. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Teamsters Local #205. Her family is her pride and joy and she loved spending all the time she could with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, John (Ashley) Winters of North Versailles; daughters, Malorie (Justin Post) of Cary, North Carolina, and Danielle (Josh) Huson of Glassport, PA; grandchildren, Aiden, Lily and Charli Winters, Oliver and Archibald Huson, and Walter, Louisa Post; brother, William (Connie) Lickert, Jr. of North Versailles; sisters, Barbara (Aaron) Gaska of McKeesport, Debra (late Robert) Seubert of Temple Terrace, Florida, and Patricia (Arthur) Maksin of White Oak; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Lickert. DAVID B. SAY Age 71, of West Deer Township, died July 12, 2020 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born April 6, 1949, in Butler, to the late William P. Say and Shirley (Wright) Say of Madison, OH. Dave grew up in Butler graduating from Butler High School in 1967 and Grove City College in 1971. Dave was employed as a maintenance supervisor for Armco/AK Steel in Butler where he worked for over 30 years. He was a past president of the Butler Armco Employee Association. Dave was an avid golfer and belonged to several golf leagues. He enjoyed travelling, reading the newspaper, doing crossword puzzles, and following all of the Pittsburgh Sports teams. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Valerie J. (Pish) Say; his mother, Shirley (Wright) Say of Madison, OH; his children, Matthew (Cresta) Say of Butler, Beth (Daniel) Klinvex of Pittsburgh, Jeffrey Say and his partner, Paul Stasko Jr., of West Deer; grandchildren Thomas and Breelynd Say and Elliot Klinvex; his siblings, Karen (Larry) Hutchison of Riverview, Florida, Keith (Diana) Say of Chicora, Brian (Ruth) Say of Madison, Ohio; his in-laws, Paul D. (Jerry Williams) Pish of West Deer, Gary (Tina) Pish of New Kensington, Shari (Steve) Smallwood of West Deer; and their children, Sam and Julie. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Say. At the family's request, all services were private. ELIZABETH JANE HARRISON O'BRYON "BETTY" Age 88, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020, at the Arden Courts of Jefferson Hills. She was born in Dravosburg on August 9, 1931, to the late Harry and Martha Wainwright Harrison. Elizabeth was the loving wife of 59 years to the late James O'Bryon. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha J. (Douglas) Murphy, of Chantilly, Virginia; grandchildren, Mathew and Kyle Murphy of Chantilly, Virginia and loving dog, Bear. Along with her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by brothers, Harry Harrison, Charles Harrison, and sister, Dorothy Beard. She was a member of the Pine Run United Methodist Church and member of Order of the Eastern Star, Clairton Chapter, as well as The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She enjoyed bingo, volunteered for food banks in Clairton and Duquesne, was a member of the voting board in Jefferson, and was formerly employed by U.S. Steel Irvin Works as a Billing Clerk. Family and friends will be received on from Thursday, July 23, 2020, at S.M. Son of the late Michael and Laura (Rulka) Lucas; brother of the late Ronald (Margaret) Lucas; uncle of Ronald, Jr. (Pamela), Daniel (Angela), and David (Judi) Lucas, Maureen (Arthur) Whittemore, and the late Kathleen Lucas. Gene was a dedicated volunteer at St. John the Baptist Cathedral following his retirement from the steel mill. He will be greatly missed by the Munhall community. MARGARET ANN JONES Passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, age 86. She was a resident of East Liberty. She was predeceased by her parents, Dalbert B. Jones and Margaret Ruscak Jones. She is survived by cousins, Mary Ann Posa of Spring Hill, Florida and Martha Ann Bell of Beaver, Pennsylvania, as well as her devoted partner, Charles 'Chaz" Hooper. She retired as Assistant Manager from Verizon, formerly known as Bell Telephone Company of PA. Margaret grew up in the North Side of Pittsburgh. She was awarded a partial scholarship to acting school when she graduated from High School, but her devotion to her parents financially kept her from achieving that dream. Margaret was an avid traveler when her parents were alive and Hawaii became one of their prized destinations. She also traveled with her cousin Martha Ann Bell and especially enjoyed her trip to Key West Florida where she was able to see the Truman summer home, the Ernest Hemingway House, and draw a sketch of the famous Lighthouse at Key West that saved many a lost sea captain. She also participated in the activities at Sunset in Mallory Square that attracts people from all around the world. Weekly outings to spend the afternoon with her cousin, Mary Ann Posa, was an activity that Margaret thoroughly enjoyed. Margaret was deeply devoted to her cousin, Martha Ann Bell, and coordinated her legal defense fund and spearheaded a letter writing campaign on Martha's behalf. Margaret's hobbies were art, music and the theater. She loved to paint watercolor drawings, especially lighthouses. She enjoyed listening to Walt Harper at the Attic in Shadyside and was a loyal participant of the three Rivers Arts Festival and the Shadyside Art Festival and frequently attended productions at the Pittsburgh Playhouse and the O'Reilly Theatre. Margaret will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace. May her life be an inspiration to all of us for her devotion to others and her love of beauty in life. MELISSA BLAGOVICH MILLER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Melissa Blagovich Miller, age 55, unexpectedly at her home on Monday, July 20, 2020. Melissa was a 1982 graduate of Churchill Area High School and received her collegiate education at the Pennsylvania State University. Upon earning her BS in Accounting, she embarked on a successful career in retail management working for various establishments. Married for 30 years to her high school sweetheart, Patrick, Melissa would say that her single greatest achievement was being a mother to her beautiful daughters, Makenzie and Delaney. She was beyond proud of the young women she and Pat raised. Melissa is predeceased by her father, Melvin Blagovich and survived by her beloved husband, Patrick Miller and daughters, Makenzie and Delaney; mother, Dorothy (Lucas) Blagovich; sister, Staci (Morgan) Dunbar; and many nieces and nephews. JEAN MARIE URBANCZYK Passed away on July 20, 2020, in Moon Township, PA at the age of 89. She was born to the late Rocco and Nell Doti in Utica, NY on January 7, 1931. She worked as a nurse's aide in a Utica hospital where she met her husband, Walter, who was a patient. They married on August 29, 1959. Jean enjoyed traveling and mall walking with her friends. Jean is survived by her loving husband of almost 61 years, Walter Urbanczyk; and beloved children, Laureen A. Urbanczyk of South Heights, PA and Cynthia J. Horodnic and her spouse, Dr. Robert Horodnic, of Gibsonia, PA; along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, from 4 – 7 PM, at COPELAND'S MOON TOWNSHIP, 981 Brodhead Rd., where prayers will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM. Born November 16, 1922, in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Matilda (Lesko) Geletko; wife of her late husband of 67 years John W. Pastorik, who died April 7, 2009; and she was the last of seven siblings. Martha is survived by daughters, Jean (Warren) Stoffer of Canonsburg, Nancy Sims of Clairton, and Louise (James) Ganss of Decatur, TN; son, John (Becky) Pastorik of Punta Gorda, FL; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his bride of 63 years, Joan (Gimon) Bannon; father of Patti McNair and Nancy Sigmund; grandfather of Laura (Travis) Cooper, Robert (Adina) McNair, Samantha Sigmund (Dustin Creel), Jacob (Ashley) Sigmund, Jimmy and Marisa Marsalese; also survived by two great-grandsons, Ryan and Caleb Cooper; brother of Dorothy Hirt and Josephine Scarfone. Many nieces and nephews will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Sandy and Linda and sister, Phyllis Walberg. JANET EVELYN VITO (YOUNG) Age 99, died peacefully in her sleep at home, of natural causes on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Janet was born in Washington, DC, grew up on a farm near Detour, MD, worked in Washington, married Victor Vito in Baltimore and moved to New York City. She raised her family in West Hempstead, NY, then moved to Lake George, NY where she owned and operated Janet Vito Boutique until her retirement. In 2002, she moved to Pittsburgh, PA. She was a skilled watercolorist and avid gardener. During her older years, she was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Susan. She was compassionate, kind, and intuitively empathetic. She rose gracefully to challenges, including those of old age. She loved her life, enthusiastically wanted to go places, do things, and strongly hoped to live to 100. She was our hero. She was predeceased by parents, Alvah E. and Georgiana Young; siblings, Harold (Caroline Wood) Young, Doris (George, Sr.) Wood, Elma Jane (George, Jr.) Wood. She is survived by her daughter and sons, Susan Burgess, Daniel (Donna Hetrick) Vito, Lawrence Vito; by grandchildren, Noah and Ariana Vito; by nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives, Cynthia Wood, Skip and Kathryn Russell, Pamela, Jennifer and Michael (Wendy) Conner; Debra (Bill) Barlow, Robin, Herbert (Marina), Carol, and Victoria (Michele) Kummer, Pamela (Bruce) Kemmlein, Melissa, Elizabeth and Alex (Sarah) Vito; and her close friend, Nora Sullivan.
