SHIRLEY BERNACCHI Age 68, of Murrysville, went to live among the angels on January 20, 2020, after a brief illness. Shirley spent over 35 years working at Clelian Heights School for Exceptional Children, where she was loved and respected. She was quick to lend a helping hand for anyone. Besides her love for Clelian, she also had a love for cats and traveling. She was also a member of Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville for many years. She leaves behind her parents, Ben and Eleanor Bernacchi of Murrysville; her sisters, Ginger Armpriester of Massena, NY, and Linda Lazzaro of New Alexandria, PA. She is also survived by four nephews, a niece, five great-nephews, and two great-nieces. Visitation Wednesday, January 22, 2020, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the HART FUNERAL HOME, INC., Murrysville. A blessing service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. JAMES R. CHRISE Age 81, of Trafford passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020, in the company of his family at Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh. Jim was born on November 26, 1938, in Homewood, the son of the late Clarence and Alberta (George) Chrise. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Rosella “Rose” (Fiorentino) Chrise. He is survived by his two loving sons, James E. Chrise and wife Dianna of Franklin Park and Thomas N. Chrise and wife Michele of Harrison City; his grandchildren, to whom he was totally devoted, Amanda Nicole, Tyler James, Jacob Thomas and Tanner James Chrise; his brother, Eugene T. Chrise and wife Barbara of White Oak; many nieces, nephews, Godchildren and friends. While Jim's fun-loving and magnetic personality provided him with an ever growing circle of friends and acquaintances, has was completely committed to his top priority in life - his family. He lovingly left them with lasting memories and great examples of how life should be lived that only a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and selfless man could provide. Jim retired as a highly respected Mechanical Design Draftsman from Westinghouse Electric Co. after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted member of the St. Regis Church in Trafford for over 50 years. Jim, in his early family life, was a well-respected coach for his sons and many other boys in Trafford through Little League, Pony and Colt baseball, and he had a unique ability to get the most out of the kids on the field, which provided them with numerous found memories and life learnings. Jim most enjoyed proudly attending the sporting events of his sons, as well as those of his grandchildren prior to his health challenges becoming severe. He also took great satisfaction, through his last day, in sharing his great wisdom with his sons and grandchildren throughout their lives. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 702 7th St. (State Rt. 130), Trafford, 412-372-3111. JOHN DANIEL BONGA Of Duquesne, a resident of Juniper Village in Forest Hills, age 98, on Sunday, January 19, 2020. John was the first American child born to Andrew and Anna (Rinyik) on December 30, 1921, in Rankin. Beloved husband of the late Mildred (Tankosic) Bonga; loving father of Dan (Nancy) Bonga, David (Monika) Bonga and Nikki (Tom) Stoner; dearest grandfather (Pap Pap) of Dr. Lily Bonga and Jonathan Bonga, Nathan Stoner and Sally (Stephen) Paul, and the late Amanda Lyn Bonga; proud great-grandfather of McCarthy Rae Poljak and Everett Paul. John also was the beloved fiancé of Magdalene “Madge” Seman. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew, Jr. and George Bonga; and his sister, Irene Mandela. John was a 44-year employee of Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh. Although he rarely spoke of his military service, John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a sergeant with the 338th Infantry Regiment combat Team in North Africa and Italy. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in ground combat. John was a lifetime member of St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church in Rankin and was a member of the White Oak American Legion. Friends are welcome on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at PATRICK T. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, she taught in parishes in Michigan, Erie, and Pittsburgh. She also was co- manager at John Paul Plaza in Pittsburgh and resident manager at Marian House Manor in Altoona, and did community service at Mt. Nazareth campus. ROBERT J. PEREVUZNIK, JR. Of Monroeville, age 80, on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Beloved husband of Cathy (Fiedor) Perevuznik for 60 years. Cherished father of Robert J. Perevuznik, Jr. of Scottdale and Cathy (Tom) Skidmore of North Huntingdon. Treasured grandfather of Emily and Rebecca Perevuznik; Garrett and Lindsey Skidmore. Brother of the late George (Tami) Perevuznik and the late Rosemary (late Dennis) Durmis. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. After graduation from Turtle Creek High School in 1957, he attended the University of Pittsburgh. Bob soon became employed with Westinghouse R & D Center in Churchill and stayed for 50 years until retiring. Bob was a lifelong member and volunteer of St. John Orthodox Church in East Pittsburgh, served on the Parish council and chaired the St. John Golf Outing for many years. He obviously loved golf. Bob's other passion was his fondness for antique cars. Among other cars, he was the proud owner of The Blue Diamond, a 1956 Ford Sunliner convertible that he had owned since 1957.
