ANN C. CHAPSKI Ann C. Chapski, 96, a resident of Vincentian Marian Manor formerly of Baden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2019. She was born February 2, 2019 in McKeesport, Pa. to the late Anton and Mary (Kasunic) Kumf. She was sales clerk for JC Penneys and the former A&P in North Versailles. She was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Baden where she was a member of the Christian Mothers and enjoyed making pierogies. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she knew. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Fred T. Chapski; and her siblings, Katherine Kumf, Rose Cuturilo, Frank, John, Anthony, Mark, George, and Edward Kumf. MARITA "COOKIE" (BAUSMAN) LORAH Cookie was 68 years old when she passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 with her daughter and best friend by her side. Originally from Reading, PA she lived most of her life in Pittsburgh, PA, also living near Washington, DC and Orlando, FL, before returning to Pittsburgh. She was a devoted daughter, a loyal wife, a proud and loving mother and grandmother and a true friend. Cookie is survived by her beloved children, daughter, Heather (Ken) and son, Shawn (Christine); grandson, Jt and granddaughter, Alyssa. Her sister, Patricia Golembiewski (Ed) resides in Gordonville, PA and her brother, Harry Bausman lives in Sumter, SC. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Ann, Debbie, Michael and Tina who she was very close to. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Lorah; parents, Harry and Catharine Bausman; her in-laws, Anne and Paul Lorah; and her sister, Catharine (Sister Marita Dorothy, IHM) and Edward Richard also known as Ted Bausman. Cookie was born April 1951 in Reading, PA. After marriage and children she sought a career in nursing. She was passionate about her calling and was an unwavering advocate for her patients. She loved her work but also loved crafting, sewing, cooking, gardening, playing pinnacle and her cats. But above all, she loved her children and grandchildren. She delighted in talking about them and spending time with them. A Celebration of Life in remembrance of Cookie, will be held this Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Noon (12 p.m.), at a private residence in Mt. Lebanon. All family and friends are welcome. WILLIAM EDWARD O'HOSKY, SR. Age 87, of Oakdale, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Maria Venanzio O'Hosky; loving father of William Edward O'Hosky, Jr.; treasured son of the late Philip and Anna O'Hosky; caring brother of the late Martha Hunter, Victoria Moore, Phillip O'Hosky, Charles (Frances- surviving) O'Hosky, and Mary Ann Venanzio. KAREN M. (O'SHELL) CAMPBELL Karen M. (O'Shell) Campbell, age 65, of Cranberry Twp., formerly of Duquesne, PA, passed away after a 12 month battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer on October 25, 2019. Karen is survived by beloved daughter, Ashley Nicole Campbell (Matt Moses); cherished granddaughter, Hadley Nicole Moses; her loving sister, Cathy (Craig) Goodwill and brother, Wallace (Mary) O'Shell; as well as her nephew, Scott (Dawn) Butler, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Lois O'Shell. Karen was a proud graduate of Duquesne High School Class of 1972. She was a Senior Tax Preparer for H&R Block, where she celebrated 41 years of service. Her claim to fame was never filing an extension in all of those years. Karen was a landlord for 20 years and she cherished her tenants, treating them like family. A Special Thank You to Andy Guntrum, her handyman, for all his years of service which meant the world to her. Karen was a 10-year volunteer with Exceptional Adventures and she enjoyed spending each New Year's Eve with her special group. The Salvation Army also held a special place in her heart. Karen enjoyed her home away from home in Rolling Greens Village, Ocala, FL, and taking trips with her best friend of 55 years, Donna Rohach. MICHAEL S. TIMKO Michael S. Timko, age 81, of Ohio Township, raised in Glassport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Village of St. Barnabas. Beloved husband of twenty-three years to Marlene O. (Franz) Timko; brother of the late Irene Hindman, John Timko, Dan Timko, and Mary Ann Boytim. Surviving are his 11 nieces and nephews; 23 great nieces and nephews; four step-daughters; and eight step-grandchildren; and also preceded in death by a nephew. EDWIN LEROY KOLLING Edwin L. Kolling, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 with his wife by his side. A Pittsburgh native, Ed was born on July 20, 1934 to the late Gerard and LaVerne Kolling. He grew up with his two brothers, Jerry and the late Jim Kolling. Ed attended South Hills High School and Duquesne University. Ed married the love of his life, Jean, and they would go on to share 60 wonderful years together raising five children, first in Whitehall and then in Peters Township. Ed is survived by his wife, Jean; and his children, Terri (Jack) Radke, Gary (Krista) Kolling, Greg (Carol) Kolling, Nancy (Price) Hurst and Lynne (Tim) Doyle; as well as ten grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as “Pap”, Christopher (Emily), Alexander and Stephen Radke, Jeffrey and Halle Kolling, Garrett (Claire), Spencer and Caroline Hurst and Sean and Katie Doyle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Ed never met a person he couldn't talk to which served him well in his career and made him a joy to be around. He brightened everyone's day with his quick smile, hearty laugh and warm personality. He loved his family dearly and particularly had a soft spot in his heart for his grandchildren. He was stationed in Germany during his service in the U. S. Army. He was an active member of St. Benedict the Abbott Church where you could find him ushering on Sundays which he did for many years. A proud, life-long Pittsburgh sports fan, he was present for two iconic moments in Pittsburgh sports history -- Maz's home run and the Immaculate Reception. He was an avid reader and in his later years, enjoyed his time as a member of the Peters Township Library Book Club. A funeral Mass to celebrate Ed's life will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 11a.m. at St. Benedict the Abbot Church in McMurray. Family and friends will be received in the narthex of the Church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. A reception will then be held at Valley Brook Country Club in McMurray to share memories and celebrate a life well lived. ROBERT M. "BOB" ABER, SR. A lifelong resident of the Steel Valley, Bob passed away on October 25, 2019, at Shady Side Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA with his loving family at his side. The son of the late Michael and Ann (Salem), he was born on September 22, 1935 at the home of his grandmother in Homestead, PA. Bob is survived by his wife of 38 years, Michaelene (Ferchak), his two brothers Bernard (Betty) and David (Charlotte), his two sons Robb (Mary Ann) and Michael (Susan), as well as his grandsons Luke, Adam, Theo and Charlie, and his great-grandson, Cade, the pole-cat supreme. Bob graduated from Homestead High School in 1953 and received a pharmacy degree from Duquesne University in 1957. After a stint in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, Bob, an all-in, glass is 100% full kinda guy, right away purchased his own pharmacy in Homestead Park, PA (Munhall) and operated as Bob Aber Pharmacy for 20 years. He also worked at Rite Aid and ultimately rose through the ranks to run its pharmacy managed care division, Eagle Managed Care. Prompted by the lengthy Steel Valley School strike of 1980, Bob also served on the Steel Valley School Board for 22 years. He was a Mason and a long-standing member of the Duquesne Golf Club in West Mifflin. And, in the 1980's, he even ran for the US Congress. The twinkle in Bob's eye and his big welcoming smile made everyone he met feel special. He always had a joke or a story to share. He was also a great listener and genuinely interested in the lives of others. He just made everyone around him feel good. A kind and compassionate man, Bob was always dropping off a box of this or that for someone or willing to lend a hand or “some walking around money” to those in need. He will always be “Uncle Bob” to his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were touched by the innate kindness of the man. She was born December 31, 1926 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Frank and Carmella Spinello Golletti. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip Chiechi in May 2017; a brother, Dominick Golletti and two sisters, Rose Casertano and Mary Santucci. STEVEN G. JOSECK Age 77, of Kennedy, joined his Father in heaven on October 25, 2019 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born June 18, 1942 in Stowe Twp., a son of the late John and Helen (Mezynski) Joseck. Steve was a graduate of Stowe Township High School, IUP, Pitt, and Duquesne University. Steve proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, having spent time in Korea while on active duty. Steve was first a teacher, then a guidance counselor, for the Sto-Rox School District for 35 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan (Cort) Joseck of Kennedy, two daughters: Pamela (Mark) Vadas of Kennedy, Barbara (Steve) Magill of Evans City, and his three favorite playmates, grandsons, Andrew and Nicholas Vadas and granddaughter, Maci Magill. Also surviving are his sister, Helen Clouner, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. RONALD B. SANDERS Age 87, died peacefully Friday evening at Shepherd of the Valley in Poland surrounded by his family. Ronald was born October 13, 1932, in Pittsburgh, the son of Walter and Ruth (Clifton) Sanders. He was a graduate of St. Mary of the Mount High School in Pittsburgh and received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Duquesne University. Ronald worked in the steel industry for over 30 years, becoming President of PBI Industries before his retirement. Ronald also was a veteran who served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of Holy Family Church and the Youngstown Country Club. While working, he was a member of the Steel Service Center Institute and served on the board. Ronald joked that he had four main passions in life: family, the Pittsburgh Steelers, golf and Notre Dame Football. His wife, the former Olga Lubich, whom he married October 5, 1957, died May 13, 2009. Ronald is survived by two daughters, Kathy (John) Stone of Poland and Linda (John) Krieger of Hunting Valley; son, Brian (Cynthia) Sanders of Streetsboro; nine grandchildren, Emily, Amanda, Michael, Nequel, Colleen, William, Tyler, Julia and Brandon; and six great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Karen Sanders. Family and friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the HIGGINS-REARDON FUNERAL HOMES, Poland Chapel. Loving father of Bruce (former wife Marjorie) (fiancee Melissa Morris) and Erik Carlson (former wife Kelly) (fiancee Mickie Ninehauser); proud grandfather of Caitlin, Sophia, Finn, Kylie and Cody; companion of Wanda Mercer; also survived by loving relatives and friends. Services will be private. Ronald was a proud graduate of Wilkinsburg High School Class of 1959, playing guard on the state championship football team.
