RITA KRONENBERGER Age 78, of Mt. Oliver, passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 23, 2019. Rita is survived by her beloved brother, Tom Kronenberger, and wife, Peg; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Gertrude Kronenberger; sister, Carol, and her husband, Gene Benedik. She was an active member of Holy Angels Parish. She retired from US Steel and Duquesne University. She was good hearted and an excellent caregiver to her mother. She was very generous to her family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. JOHN "JACK" IRVIN SMITH, II Age 79, of Bedford County, PA, formerly Pittsburgh, died Saturday, June 22, 2019. He was born on June 4, 1940, son of the late John Irvin Smith and Mary (Sullivan) Smith of Greenfield. John graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School in 1958 and received a BS in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1973. He is survived by his loving wife of over 45 years, Patricia Ann (Michel) Smith; proud father of John I. Smith, III (Rachel), Carole Lucchesi (David), Matthew Smith (Diane Jane), and Amanda Ebersole (Adam). He is further survived by eight grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Jacob Smith, David Lucchesi, Elizabeth Lucchesi, Xander Harris, Ivy Sperling, Alia Ebersole and Annika Ebersole; and five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Vincent, Isabella, Tia and Egan. At the request of the decedent, there will not be any services. However he didn't mention anything about a celebration of life so, at the idea of his daughter who is a lawyer, a get together to celebrate him will be held at a later date. PAUL E. STEITZ Age 98, of Mt. Lebanon, on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Born November 22, 1920. Beloved husband of the late Miriam H. Steitz; son of the late George and Rose Steitz; loving father of Mary Sargent, W. Hardie Steitz, David P. (Kathy) Steitz, and Jane B. (Jeffrey) Steitz Banaszak; dear grandfather of 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Paul was drafted into the United States Army in 1942 and served during WWII. Private Steitz served as a rifleman in Company I, 175th Infantry Regiment, 29th Division. He fought in France and Belgium at the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Paul later received an Engineering Degree from Carnegie Tech, now Carnegie Mellon University. He was employed at Mesta Machine Company as a Mechanical Engineer. After retirement, Paul was a beloved Crossing Guard for Hoover Elementary, serving for 15 years. FLORENCE F. (SPISAK) SEBESTA Age 96, a longtime resident of Whitehall, PA, surrounded by her loving family, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Born on November 19, 1922, she attended East Pittsburgh High School and graduated valedictorian of her class. While presenting her speech, she fell in love with her future husband, Dr. Charles F. Sebesta, who applauded her wildly without hesitation. They were married directly after World War II. Florence also attended business school and worked for the steel union in Pittsburgh. Together, she and her husband raised six loving children. One child, Bernadette F. Sebesta, preceded her in death. Florence is survived by her children, in order of birth: Mary Margaret (Dr. Julius) Redling, Charles F. (Judith D.) Sebesta, John A. (Anne) Sebesta, David O. (Debbie) Sebesta, and Jerome T. (Kimberly D.) Sebesta, along with four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Florence is the sister of Andrew (Norma) Spisak, the late Mary (Charles) Spisak and the late Raymond Spisak. During her life, she loved her Lord, her husband and her family. She enjoyed and celebrated every birthday and holiday, especially Easter and Christmas, and always made them special for her family and friends. Florence enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and spoiled them with love during their youth. She also enjoyed traveling and was a great cook. When her husband passed, she remained at home up until the last three years of her life. She then enjoyed the community at Paramount Senior Living, located in Bethel Park, PA. She was very much loved by everyone and will be dearly missed. Friends will be received at JOHN F. MARGARET MARY (ROGERS) CLEMENTS On Monday, June 24, 2019. Beloved wife of Daniel J. Clements; loving mother of Theresa, Margaret, Daniel, Mary, Brian, Kathleen, and Sean; devoted grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, William Rogers and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her mother, Sarah (Fitzpatrick) Rogers of Galway, Ireland; her father, William Rogers of Londonderry, Northern Ireland; and her sister, Sara Rogers. Margaret (Peggy) had a full life anchored in faith and family. She traveled the world, but her greatest joy was found at home with those she loved. Peggy was raised in Pittsburgh where she attended Sacred Heart School. After graduating she continued her education and worked in accounting. She married Daniel at Sacred Heart Parish where their journey together began. Later she became an active member at St. Victor Parish, was involved in the West Deer Garden Club, and was a member of the Tuesday Night Zodiac Bowling League. THOMAS G. DORN Age 69, a Moon Township resident for 32 years, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at UPMC Shadyside. He was born in Pittsburgh on February 21, 1950 to the late Gleyn Adele (Ward) Dorn. Beloved husband for 49+ years to Rosemary (Dailey) Dorn; loving father of Christy Nyiri (Joseph), Carolyn Dorn and Tom Dorn (Christine); proud grandfather of Carly, Alexa, and Thomas. Thomas, a do-it-yourself handyman would be in the garage for hours working on his custom-built show truck. He loved anything dealing with automotive. He was a “Jack of all trades”, who could fix anything, build anything, even things he knew nothing about, and it always came out right. He loved his dogs and his kids were his best friends. This gentle giant with the big heart will be missed greatly by his loving and devoted family along with many friends. MARGARET "PEG" (OSTERHOLM) BELAJAC Age 96, of Monroeville, PA went to her heavenly home on June 24th. Beloved wife of the late John P. Belajac. She was the dear mother of Karen Kelly of Monroeville, Kathi McGrath (Paul) of McMurray, Kristi Tunder (late Michael) of Penn Hills and Jo Ann Buskey (late Robert) of Saltsburg. She is survived by 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by grandsons, John A. Dzuriak and Brian McGrath. Peg's career covered a span of forty years. Her first work experience came while she was a student at the University of Pittsburgh. After graduation in 1944 she continued with the Brashear Association full time and also served as an assistant in the Senior Nursery School at the Falk School in Oakland. In 1947 her first job as a teacher was with the Irene Kaufmann Settlement Nursery School in the Hill District. She worked there for seven years and later became the Director of the Y.M. and W.H.A. Irene Kaufmann's Center's Preschool and Day Camp Program in Squirrel Hill for another seven years. She was hired in 1966 as an Assistant Coordinator in the Board of Education's Head Start Program and later became the Director of the Program. In 1976 she entered the Pittsburgh Board's Kindergarten Program teaching in Colfax and Horace Mann schools. John Morrow school was one of six schools selected to pilot the full day Kindergarten program in 1979. Peg was chosen over a number of candidates vying for this position. She remained in that capacity for six years at John Morrow School until retirement in 1985. After retirement John and Peg spent their winter months in the St. Petersburg KOA in Florida which they dearly loved. DAVID A. COUCH Age 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 20, 2019. He was born January 11, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA, to David Couch and Dorothy (Musgrave) Couch. After his father's passing, his mother remarried and he was stepson to Dr. L. John Powell, stepbrother to David Powell and the late Jack Powell. David attended Mt. Lebanon High School and went on to graduate from Ohio University. His fondest memories from college were joining Phi Delta Theta fraternity and singing in the group the Hi-Phi's. David's greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his daughter and granddaughters. He will be remembered by his kindness, charisma and sense of humor. David is survived by his daughter, Leah (Couch) Cwynar; granddaughters, Olivia and Isabella Cwynar; brother, Thomas Couch; and best friend, Vicki Couch. Hartford; loving mother of Gary Hartford and the late Charles A. (surviving wife, Denise) Hartford; cherished grandmother of Dina (Keith), Carmen (Amy), Charles “Chaz” (Amanda) and Roseangela; precious Bubba of Santino, Nicholas, Brianna, Marilyn, Lindan, Avery, Tatum, Carissa and Garrett; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Flo will be remembered for her kindness and her ever smiling face. She was quick witted and an excellent cook! She loved her family; especially her great-grandchildren; each having a Bubba-given nickname.
