METAL CHARLES MICHAEL Age 63, of Coal Center, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018, in Pittsburgh's Monte?ore Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Charles was a 1978 graduate of California University of PA with a degree in Technology Education. He was an avid rugby player and also served as a coach for CAL U Roosterhead Rugby Club for many years. He was a skilled, award-winning businessman who served as the President and Owner of C.M.M. Associates since 1991. He had a hearty, infectious laugh and a mischievous twinkle in his eye, charming people everywhere he went. He was a skilled bowhunter, loyal friend and mentor to many. He is survived by Jeannine Metal, his loving wife of 40 years (Coal Center, PA); his sister, Charlene Givens and her husband, Ted (Export, PA); his sister, Josephine Metal-Corbin and her husband, David (Omaha, NE); and niece, Quinn Metal Corbin (Queens, NY). He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Metal; and his mother, Josephine Metal (Zuffante). Kimberly is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, David Kwolek; cherished mother of David (Jamie) Kwolek, Jacob Kwolek and Sydney Kwolek; adored Mimi of Reese Kwolek; loving daughter of Mary "Lee" Brula; sister of Kerri DeGennaro, Timothy Brula, Marian (George) Koller and her younger twin brother, Keith (Judy) Brula; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Brula. Kim will always be remembered as a kind hearted person with a vibrant personality. The love she had for her family was unmeasurable, especially when it came to her children and her grandson. She will be sorely missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. BAZMI HASSAN, M.D. Of Sewickley Heights, PA passed away on December 9, 2018, at age 81, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 11, 1937 in Shiraz, Iran to the late Mohamad Javad Zia and Batool Bazmi. Hassan was the beloved husband of Dr. Neptune Kasraie Bazmi for 53 years; the loving father of Bahar, Babak and Shervin; cherished grandfather of Jasmine and Haley Heusey; and survived by his dear niece, Hengameh Holly Bazmi; and several other family members both in the Unites States and in Iran. Prior to immigrating to the United States in 1974 with his family, Hassan graduated from Pahlavi Medical School and served in the Army Health Corp. In the U.S., Hassan completed his residency in General Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital, and later became the Head of General Surgery and President of the Medical Staff at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Passavant Hospital. In addition, Hassan was a Fellow of the American Society of Abdominal Surgeons. He was in private surgical practice for over 27 years in the North Hills, where he served thousands of patients in his community. In addition to being a dedicated surgeon, Hassan found much joy in spending time with friends and family, playing tennis and basketball, and singing classical Persian music. Remembrance services will be held in his honor at the Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community (100 Norman Drive) in Cranberry Township, PA on Friday, December 14th from 6-8 p.m. EST. JASON MITCHELL Age 24 of Fort Carson, Colorado formerly of Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Export, PA passed away tragically from injuries sustained in Afghanistan on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Beloved husband of Lillie Renee (Ashbaugh) McClary; loving father of Jett Isaac and Jason James McClary; adored son of Raymond and Jolynn Maiolie; brother of Jennifer (Jason) Lorent and Jeffrey (Katrina) Ritter; son-in-law of Eric Ashbaugh and Lillie (Mike) Ayers; brother-in-law of Eric, Ryan, Autumn, and Faith Ashbaugh and Kim Nielsen; also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jason was a hard worker who attained his certi?cation in machining while attending Kiski Area High School. He was a devoted Christian and attended Keystone Christian Church in Export. NOVAK ELSIE M. (HOLT) Age 90, of North Versailles, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018. She was born April 23, 1928 in North Versailles, a daughter of the late Harry A. and Hilda M. (Herrmann) Holt; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Victor A. Novak; a son, James H. Novak; and her sister, Virginia J. Holt. She was a graduate of East McKeesport High School, attended Westminster College, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a retired French and English school teacher for the McKeesport Area School District. Elsie was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Versailles, and the Women of the ELCA. She loved gardening and traveling. She is survived by her son, John E. Novak, and his wife, Lora; her daughter- in-law, Mary Anne Novak; her grandchildren, Brittany Novak, Janine (Matt) Then, Bryce Novak, Sara (Adam) Maloney, and Benjamin (Noemie) Novak; and her great-grandsons, Nathan and Joshua Then. KAMARAS DEAN C. Passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 13, 2018. Preceded in death by his ?rst wife of 36 years, Nicoletta Kamaras; and his second wife of 25 years, Callie Kamaras; survived by his son, Peter D. Kamaras; and daughters, Dae Machin (husband, Jim) and Diane Strauch (husband, Pat); grandfather of Nicoletta, Dina, Jimmy, Nicholas, Demetri, and   Sutton; great-grandfather of Alexander. From humble beginnings, Dean graduated from Carnegie Tech, earning both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In his professional life, he became Vice President of PBI industries, chaired one of the Nuclear Regulatory committees charged with establishing design specifications for nuclear power plants, designed and built buildings on six continents including Antarctica, and was Director of Engineering for Eichleay Engineering. In his later years, and working until early 2018, Dean designed numerous churches throughout the country. For his tireless work with the Orthodox Church of North America, the title Archon Dean C. Kamaras, Architekton Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople was bestowed upon him by the Orthodox Patriarch. A member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Oakland for much of his life, he served on the parish council for over 30 years, holding the title of president on several occasions.
