LOSACCO RAYMOND B. Age 88, of West View, on Thursday, March 6, 2014. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 28, 1926, son of the late Nickola and Rose (Salerna) Losacco; beloved husband of the late Leslie L. Herdt, whom he married July 31, 1964. Leslie passed away on November 25, 2010. Ray was an Elementary Teacher and Principal for the North Hills School District from 1953-1990. His wife was a Music Teacher for many years in the same district. They traveled together extensively and Ray had a keen interest in all aspects of history. Mr. Losacco served during WWII with the US Infantry in the German Campaign as a rifleman and was a POW from December 17, 1944, to April 13, 1945. Shortly after his release from the German prison camp, Ray was honorably discharged from service due to his brother's death while also serving his country. CLEMENT BEVERLY J. (BRUTSCHER) Age 66, on March 7, 2014, went to be with her sorely missed late husband, Richard “Dick” Clement. Eldest daughter of the late Michael J. and Dorothy M. Brutscher of Wilkinsburg; cherished sister of Marguerite (George) Mantsh and Bridget (Charles) Sirbaugh; sister-in-law of Linda (Ken) Moeslein and Judy (Tom) Reis. Although she had no children, she treated her nieces and nephews like they were her own, including: Michael (Meloney) Mantsch, Melissa (Alan) Pare, Rebecca (Ron) Richards, Laura (Chris) Ratica, Kristen (Frank Twele) Sirbaugh, and Eric Sirbaugh. Generous to a fault to family and friends, always smiling as she suffered a steady decline related to Multiple Sclerosis; also survived by many extended family and friends. SCHLEGEL EDWARD R. Age 76, passed back into the arms of God on March 11, 2014. Sadly missed by his beloved wife, Dorothy; loving father of Roche Schlegel, Renee (Gregg) Holbrook, Rhea Jamesine Simon, Rebecca (Raymond) Swiger, Rhett, and the late Rita Schlegel; precious grandfather “Grumpy” to his six beautiful granddaughters, Carly, Tessa, Gwendolyn, Madeline, Hanna, and Lexie. Ed was a proud pressman, Union Local 9 member of the Pittsburgh Press and Post Gazette for 45 years. Ed's skills as a raconteur will be remembered by his cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Langtry and Marcella; brothers, Joseph and Thomas; and daughter, Rita, on January 8, 2014. DAVIDSON ALEX C. “LEX” JR. Age 96, and longtime resident of Friendship Village of the South Hills, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on November 30, 1917. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1935 and in 1939 received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago where he was affiliated with Phi Delta Theta. He was recruited by U.S. Steel where he worked until his retirement, with the exception of five years, when he was a Special Agent of the F.B.I. Alex was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Spohn Davidson, in 1995, after 54 years of marriage; his second wife, Jane McNeely Davidson, in 2005; his son, Alex C. "Dave" Davidson III in 2009; and both his sisters, Bobbie Jean Neumeister and Marion Millett Tschiemer. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara D. Haring (Ronald) of State College, PA; his stepson, Timothy McNeely of Pittsburgh, PA; his stepdaughter, Susan Austin of Plano, TX; his grandchildren, David S. Haring (Jennifer) of Cheyenne, WY and Jennifer L.H. Kaminski (Scott) of Richmond, VA; and three great-grandchildren, Lane S. Haring, Dominick Cockrell and Jack E. Kaminski. GILLEN JOHN PAUL, Sr. Of Grove City, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at UPMC Horizons, Farrell. A son of Hilliard G. and Catherine Schneider Gillen, he was born in Pittsburgh on October 19, 1941. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Mt. Oliver. He was the owner and operator of C-S Enterprises in Slippery Rock. On November 2, 1974, he married the former Patricia Devlin, who survives, along with three children, Colleen (Benjamin) Bates of Cranberry Twp., Shayna Gillen and her fiancé, Keith Kaufman of Grove City, and Jay Gillen of Grove City; also surviving are two brothers, Jamie Gillen of Butler and Hilliard (Hildegarde) Gillen of Pittsburgh; and a sister, Kathleen Roscoe of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Zorbas. Friends will be received in the JAMISON FUNERAL HOME, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville, from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014.
