DOONAN JACK "JOHN" Age 58, of Port Vue, died June 27, 2018, at home surrounded by family and friends, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born April 25, 1960, in Warwick, Rhode Island, he is the husband of Carrie (Supernovich) Doonan, for 31 years. He was a surgical technologist at Jefferson Hospital, and an active member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mark Parish. Jack earned his BS in Business, from Providence College and his MS in Business Administration, from Bryant College. He was an avid Patriots fan and Snoopy lover. Jack will forever be known for selflessly giving his time, energy, love and humor to all who knew him. He is best remembered by a quote from W. Wordsworth, That best portion of a good man's life, is his little nameless unremembered acts of kindness and of love. In addition to his wife Carrie, Jack is survived by his children, Joseph Doonan of Columbus, OH, Lynley Doonan of Port Vue and Alexandra (Justin) Yanity of Houston, TX. Lorna, Doone, was an advocate for making a difference; former president and board member in the following organizations: Neurofibromatosis Clinics Association, Bed & Breakfast Association, and Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. KITZINGER ANDREW E. Age 98, on Thursday, June 28, 2018 of Baldwin, recently of Whitehall. Beloved husband of the late Aurelia Kitzinger; loving father of Loretta (the late Sam) DelBianco; devoted grandfather of Linda (Bob) Coholic, Karen DelBianco and Mary Ann Bell; cherished great-grandfather of David, Nick and Chris Bell and Eric and Samantha Garbowsky; brother of Maybelle Matschner, Eileen (Tom) Mari, Carol (Bill) Duttine and the late Chuckie, Elmer (Reds), Ronnie, John (Snookie), Robert, Loraine, and Eldon (Cal) Kitzinger. Andrew, retired from the US Steel Corp, where he worked his way up from a messenger boy to a General Purchasing Agent with offices in Pittsburgh, New York, and Venezuela, Brazil. Andrew proudly served as a U.S. Marine during WWII participating in the Battle of Okinawa. Going ashore on April 1, 1945 with the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force and other Allied forces, codenamed Iceberg. The most fierce fighting in the Pacific theater, the battle was referred to as the Typhoon of Steel or tetsu no bofu in Japanese. Andrew served as a crewman operating a 105 mm howitzer. His small stature earned him cave clearing duties where he is credited with saving the life of a young Japanese girl that was badly injured hiding in a cave. Using translation cards, he convinced her to leave the cave to get medical attention. He carried her to the safety of a Navy corpsmen. Andrew enjoyed being with friends and family, playing cards and watching Pittsburgh sporting events, and an occasional Manhattan. Andrew is loved and remembered for his kindness and willingness to help everyone he came across. He had many personal quotes or sayings that we can always remember him by, such as I'm still kicking, just not scoring any field goals. Andrew is now at peace with his beloved wife of 75 years. Carl was retired from Verizon, the former Bell Telephone Co., where he was a system technician and was active in the Bell Telephone Pioneer's. He was a member of Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church. Carl was a US Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member and past master of Masonic Lodge #765 East McKeesport. He enjoyed learning computers, playing the organ and he was a all around handy man, always there to lend a hand. Carl spent his winters in Beverly Hills, FL. KERRIGAN CAROL M. Age 79, of Bethel Park, PA, passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2018. Carol was born on September 25, 1938 in McKeesport, PA to the late Gerald C. Wirth and Mary Pavlik Wirth. She is survived by her daughter Maureen Kerrigan (Lotti) and her four-legged grandkids Bleue, Mandy, Merlee, Moose, and Sullivan of Upper St. Clair, PA. Carol was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Joseph J. Kerrigan, and by her brother Ron Wirth and his wife Charlotte; she is survived by her siblings Tom Wirth (the late Joy) of Sebring, FL, Ross Wirth (Debbie) of North Huntington, PA, Barbara Smith (Howard) of Etna, PA; Carol was also preceded in death by her 2nd husband, Cornelius Mac McConville and her stepson Michael McConville (Janet); she is also survived by her stepchildren: PJ McConville (Debbie), Neil McConville (Adrienne), Daniel McConville (Dina), Mary McConville, and many step-grandchildren; Carol was loved by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Carol was a banker for many years in Tampa, FL before she moved back to her beloved Pittsburgh in 2005 and worked at Bethel Park Walmart. She loved life and wasn't afraid to have a good time. Carol was an avid Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fan. She was a joyous soul. We will all miss her free spirit. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Carol's name to Kind Hands 4 paws, P.O.
